Holy crossdresser! Larry David to play a nun in the Farrelly's Three Stooges movie?!?
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with perhaps the oddest casting news to hit today. You can't possibly cast more against type than having Larry David play a Catholic nun.
And that's what Bobby and Peter Farrelly have done, casting David as Mother Mengele opposite Jane Lynch's Mother Superior and Sean Hayes (Larry), Will Sasso (Curly) and Chris Diamantopoulos (Moe) according to Mike Fleming at Deadline.
I always hold out hope for these guys, but I haven't enjoyed anything they've done since Me, Myself and Irene. Larry David in the film goes a long, long way towards my own personal anticipation of the project. What say you?

...but now I have no doubt this movie is going to be one of the biggest insults to the memory of some of the greatest comedians in the history of Hollywood. When I read the announcements at first that the likes of Jim Carey and Sean Penn were attached or being pursued for this project, I was very hopeful. In fact, I was championing this project. How quickly those hopes were dashed. Now we have a group of no-talent hacks who are going to put together a film that will all but ruin the names of the Stooges if not defile the entire genre of slap-stick comedy itself for generations to come. The only thing that mystifies me more than how Hollywood would be willing to back a film of this horrendous nature is how AICN can give us all these glowing reviews with a straight face. I guess Harry and the gang really DO know who ultimately pays their bills.

I'm guessing this is loosely based on the Stooges? I don't see Sean Hayes as Larry at all. Same with Chris Diamonwhatshisface. Sasso is a great choice though.

They're casting with hopes that the supporting cast will bring the funny. I've never seen Lynch bad in anything, from the Christopher Guest roles to her turn on SNL. But Larry David as a nun? Curb is hilarious because David plays a heightened version of himself. He is not, let me repeat, not an actor. And if the idea of Larry David acting as a nun is supposed to be funny, then the Farrellys have lost whatever comic touch they had.

At least with Will Sasso and Sean Hayes (don't know anything about the guy playing Moe) they now have genuine COMIC actors in the leads. As brilliant as they are in drama, did you really think Sean Penn and Bennico Del Torro was a good idea? Having said, that not sure how Larry David will work out as a nun. But at least it is interesting casting. As for that worthless lesbian cunt Jane Lynch, I've never found that bitch remotely funny in anything she's done. The fact that she plays the same bitch on steroids character in everything sure doesn't help.
