The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day is embalming people with coffee; 86 proof!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
Now here’s a really sweet shot, from the filming of Some Like It Hot featuring Marilyn Monroe and Tony Curtis seemingly alone on a boat… well, alone except for the massive crew behind the camera.
What I particularly love about this shot is just how immediately and simply it illustrates the large scale of filmmaking. Now, we’ve had bigger shots, with more crew in it, but here it’s an intimate scene, between two very pretty people, with a giant make-shift scaffold holding a ton of crew all focused on this one moment… That’s filmmaking summed up in one image.
Oh, and the movie ain’t bad either. Here’s the shot, which you can click to embiggen! Enjoy!

Not these rat-faced, anorexic, sneering automations like Paris Hilton and Megan Fox. 20 years ago we had the modern-day Monroe with Jennifer Connelly, and it's fucking TRAGIC how she's mutilated her once=smokin' body. :(
