THE CROW Re-adaptation May Have Found Its Lead...

Merrick here...

A few days ago we learned that 28 WEEKS LATER director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo would be directing THE CROW re-adaptation, which was originally to be helmed by BLADE's Stephen Norrington (details HERE).

Now comes word that, after all kindsa rumors regarding who might play the film's resurrected, vengeful lead (at one point Mark Wahlberg's name was in the mix), The powers That Be have zeroed on one particular actor.

Bradley Cooper is in early negotiations to star in Relativity’s remake of The Crow...

[EDIT]

Cooper will play a rock musician who is murdered while trying to save his fiancée from thugs. He is resurrected by supernatural forces and seeks revenge.

[EDIT]

sources say Cooper, currently in theaters in Relativity’s hit thriller Limitless, is keen to board the project.

...says THIS piece at THR.

An odd choice, and one I would never have conjured in a million years.  Which makes it interesting and intriguing as far as I'm concerned. I've generally found Cooper to be 'likeable' - which (presuming the new CROW film heads in the intense and angsty directions one would expect) might serve as a wonderful counterbalance to what his character ultimately becomes.
