‘My Name’s Boyd Crowder!!’
Herc Loves JUSTIFIED 2.10!!

I am Hercules!!

Last week brought a big “Justified,” with Loretta MacReady leveling her vengeance against Coover Bennett. Plus Mags and Boyd besting the hot redhead from “Hung.”

FX says of Justified 2.10, “Debts and Accounts”:

Raylan and Winona's idyll is shattered by violence, as Boyd and the Bennetts struggle to rise from the ashes of chaos in Harlan.

What FX refuses to tell you resides in the spoiler-cloaking text invisible.

* The teaser begins with Raylan and Art looking over the Walt MacReady autopsy and appraising the character of Loretta MacReady.

* Art to Raylan: “You opened that can; lets eat it all.”

* Art to Raylan: “I’m stuck with a man who is a lousy marshal and a good lawman.”

* Art to Raylan: “Sooner or later this problem’s gonna solve itself.”

* Scene two brings together Mags Bennett and Raylan’s stepmom Helen. Hobert turns up also.

* Scene three deals with Ava and Boyd Crowder.

* Scene four returns to us the beguiling Winona Hawkins. Raylan to Winona: “Hold that thought.”

* “She talks like Oprah,” allows Loretta.

* It’s a big episode of Dickie Bennett, who reminds of Daniel Faraday this week.

* A character not seen since season one turns up.

* Neil Young’s nationality is discussed.

* SUPER SPOILER: Edosipe eht ni etal yrev srucco llydi s‘anoniW srettahs taht ecneloiv eht.

* How does it end? "Even if it was from a distance."

2.11 “Full Commitment”
2.12 “Reckoning”
2.13 “Bloody Harlan”

    Season 1 Character.....Johnny Crowder?

    by Katet19

If I recall they never actually came out and said one way or the other that he perished after his "gut shot". I've been waiting for him to be a big surprise all season.

Kate Austen. And I even like her character more than Kate. Tho she is probably SLIGHTLY less hit than Evangeline. Not sure.

Winona doesn't die in this episode. Bummer! This episode is suppose to tie into episode 12. Not sure how but it is. So alot more of the bitch

S1 Character=The Boxer working with Duffy

    by Vorlagen

Johnny Crowder was definitely said to have been killed. We haven't seen that washed-up boxer/Dixie Mafia enforcer that worked with Wynn Duffy. Since the violence hitting Winona is likely caused by her husband and the whole "Frankfurt Mafia being pissed" storyline hasn't paid off yet, I'd be that's who we see.

This was what Yost said after the finale aired

    by Katet19

"We just loved M.C Gainey's performance, and so we haven't decided," said Yost when asked about Bo's fate, adding about him and Johnny Crowder: "We didn't see either one of them die. We saw them go down, but we don't know for sure they're dead. If we want to keep them alive, we will, but we haven't decided that yet." Now we've seen clearly Beau's corpse, but Johnny hasn't been mentioned since. All I recall hearing was that Johnny was "gut shot".

    Johnny Crowder

    by Chrissy hayes

Is still alive. There is an interview with Walton Goggins and he is having a conversation with Johnny that wasn't from season one. I have posted the link to get your thoughts http://video.tvguide.com/Justified/JUSTIFIEDs+Walton+Goggins+teases+last+few+episodes/7157628?autoplay=true

    Advance Review for tonight

    by Pam Miller

More drama and confirmed that Johnny Crowder is alive. More of the Winona and Raylan soap opera. I hope he dumps her soon true Raylan style. I cannot stand to watch her pull his strings like a puppet. The writers could give him some balls when it comes to her. http://www.lenalamoray.com/REVIEW-JUSTIFIED-Debts-and-Accounts.html

  • April 13, 2011, 3:40 p.m. CST

    I called it ...

    by Katet19

as far back as the season premiere I've been saying they were keeping Johnny in their back pocket

  • April 13, 2011, 3:44 p.m. CST

    Soap Opera

    by Katet19

I think it's a bit more Soap Opera to have someone specifically say "good thing they were able to save Johnny" he got shot crawled into a hole and there he stayed. The only reason he was interacting with Raylan was that he was directly involved with Boyd and the Crowder affairs at large, which in turn Raylan was involved in as a Marshal. For most of the season Boyd has gone "straight" and seems to have avoided everyone from his past but Ava.

    Love the show

    by Andy_Dufresne

One of the absolute best things on TV. FX rarely misfires on a series. They are probably the most consistent channel with delivering quality, character-driven shows....especially in the realm of drama/action...but they do alright with comedy too....Always Sunny, The League, and Archer are all really solid shows. Even shows that don't catch on are still really good. Terriers was one of my top 5 shows of the fall and Lights Out is pretty good as well. Winona definitely needs to be either removed from the show entirely or just be more of an adversary like she was in the first half of season one. I liked Raylan with Ava a LOT more. And how the hell awesome is Walter Goggins. Perfect.

  • April 13, 2011, 10:08 p.m. CST

    Way too much Winona/Natalie Zea

    by mypalfish

Justified has such great acting from everyone, but Natalie Zea just isn't up to the level of the rest of the cast. Her cutesy line readings are annoying and stop the momentum of the show in it's tracks. Maybe Winona is just a rotten character and no actress could do anything with the part?

  • April 13, 2011, 11:35 p.m. CST

So the bad Boyd Crowder has returned..

    by Thanos0145

and Ava is his girl. (Weird since Boyd wanted to kill Ava for blowing away her husband/his brother and now they're a couple.) Sloppy writing by the showrunners to just dismiss the rest of the Bennett clan from having a hand in Loretta's father's death. I think Gary put out the hit for Winona and Raylan.

  • April 14, 2011, 1:24 a.m. CST

Bring back Deadwood - this show pales in comparison

    by slayme

hell this isn't even a good show - for some reason Herc likes it but he's been known to like a stinker before. Again - screw this lame ass Justified shit and bring back motherfuckin cocksuckin Deadwood! Whoever said earlier up this shit is just like a soap opera is right on. Ugh.

  • April 14, 2011, 2:16 a.m. CST

    Don't whine about "soap operas"

    by Epsilon

Very few dramas don't get "soapy." Even a sci-fi show like Fringe has gone to the Peter-Olivia-Fauxlivia triangle. Deal with it. About the only thing that didn't turn into a soap was 24. That show existed to kill people indiscriminately.

    by adml_shake

I thought the same thing but I don't think he could afford it. Unless he was counting on those two getting whacked and then getting the insurance policy they were fighting over in the divorce meeting.

  • April 14, 2011, 7:15 a.m. CST

Did Boyd's hair grow even taller this week?

    by Truxton Spangler

Goggins rocks the 'do, though. I don't have the irrational hate (nor any great love) of Winona/Zea some seem to harbor, but the affairs of the Crowder and Bennett clans were far more interesting this week. Let's see what Boyd and Dickie have up their sleeves and how far they'll get away with it...

  • April 14, 2011, 8:16 a.m. CST

    Gary's up to no good

    by Schadenfreude

Between his racehorse, the meeting with Wynn Duffy and now his wanting to keep the tears over the insurance it's clear to me that he had something to do with the hitmen. If he didn't orchestrate it, he at least knows about it.

  • April 14, 2011, 8:43 a.m. CST

    Seems To Me...

    by Bald Evil

...that the hitmen are connected to Gary and Duffy, and that the object is to cash in on Winona's insurance policy. Plus they both get revenge on Raylan in the bargain. Not sure of that, but it seems to make sense, and is certainly within Gary's capacity for bad decisions.

  • April 14, 2011, 10:54 a.m. CST

Winona (Natalie Zea) just so out of place

    by gumbyandpokey

That soap opera-ish story seems to belong in a different (and worse) show. There's a certain "feel" to Justified that's lost when Winona appears. Maybe Natalie Zea just isn't convincing as a southerner; she seems more like an LA bitch with a hint of a phony accent. With the great storylines (Boyd, Bennett's), Winona and her husband and the divorce is the last thing the show should be focusing on.

  • April 14, 2011, 12:50 p.m. CST

It was Gary, he needed Raylan to be with her when..

    by SID 8.0

The hit went down so it would look like Raylan was the target. He gets what he wants and Duffy gets a dead Raylan. "I'm making a right turn, if you guys make a right I'm going to have some questions." Love this show.

  • April 14, 2011, 1:28 p.m. CST

    Winona is so arrogant

    by Pam Miller

Did she really say "of course you love me"? WOW! She does think alot of herself. The show is taking a direction that is not needed. Her character is sucking the life out of Raylan. He actually whined about her not kissing him when she got out of the car and was whining about Art. I am hoping she gets shot here real soon.

  • April 14, 2011, 1:48 p.m. CST

    Season One:Raylan/Ava Season 2:Raylan/Winona Season 3:...

    by Thanos0145

Raylan/Carol? The show just needs to keep Raylan single and leave the soap opera to daytime tv.

  • April 14, 2011, 9:34 p.m. CST

    Quit Bitchin' About Winona

    by TripDaily

Reminds me of the same jerkoffs that used to bitch about The Sopranos not being one mafia hit after another. It's a drama. It's about Raylan Givens' life. He's a U.S. Marshall that happens to have a love interest, unlike 99% of the idiots who constantly cry on these boards.

  • April 14, 2011, 9:53 p.m. CST

People are bitching about Winona/Natalie Zea....

    by mypalfish

they are not bitching about Raylan having a love life. It's the specific character of Winona and/or the specific actress Natalie Zea that's the problem. I don't think there would be any problem with Ava being the love interest. But it doesn't help that the ex-wife storyline isn't the least bit interesting and pales when places alongside the Crowder's and Bennett's.

  • April 14, 2011, 10:11 p.m. CST

    Ava...

    by TripDaily

Has been completely boring and underused this season, and you could see it coming since the first episode of the second season that she was going to be with Boyd. Natalie Zea is a fine actress and I like her as Winona. Blame the writers for what diminished returns that we got from both of Ava's and Winona's storylines. I get what they have been trying to do by balancing out Raylan's life, but anyone as a love interest would pale in comparison to the compelling storyline and talent that they came up with in the Bennetts.

  • April 14, 2011, 11:45 p.m. CST

    I'd like less Winona...

    by Shermdawg

....and more Art. Also, I'm a bit disappointed with the recent turn of events with Boyd.

  • April 15, 2011, 8:42 a.m. CST

    The problem is Natalie Zea

    by gumbyandpokey

When the entire cast...even the bit players, are all top-notch...it sticks out like a sore thumb to have a subpar actress like Natalie Zea playing one of the featured characters. Even the actress that plays the little girl has more depth than Zea does. And poor Joelle Carter has nothing to do. BTW, it was amusing to hear Olyphant wondering if he should grow a mustache like the old cowboys in the picture he was looking at. I immediately lamented the crappy non-ending Deadwood got.

  • April 15, 2011, 12:38 p.m. CST

    Raylan & Winona

    by Pam Miller

I have very strong feelings about the way the storyline is going with Raylan this year. The story of Raylan and the US Marshalls office has taken a back seat to the Raylan and Winona love story. She is the worst character on the show and all of the other great actors have been pushed out as well so she can get more screentime. The writers should be ashamed because this is not a soap opera on daytime.
