Machinima.com and Warner Premiere have debuted their new MORTAL KOMBAT: LEGACY web series, starring Michael Jai White (he was then lead in the SPAWN movie and appeared in THE DARK KNIGHT ), Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine on STAR TREK: VOYAGER), Tahmoh Penikett (Helo on the recent GALACTICA series) and directed by Kevin Tancharoen (the FAME remake).
Evidently, LEGACY evolved from this briefly mysterious MORTAL KOMBAT: REBIRTH short film which went viral last year...

Kevin Tancharoen, who directed and produced the popular, unofficial “Mortal Kombat: Rebirth” fan short, is bringing the same immersive directing style to this live-action digital series.

Written by Kevin Tancharoen, Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing, “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” is an anthology of nine live action shorts and brings to life the motivation behind each character’s participation in the Mortal Kombat tournament. Each episode will provide never-before-revealed insights into characters featured in the upcoming videogame as well as the game’s universe.

Not surprisingly, a new MORTAL KOMBAT game for XBOX 360 and PS3 arrives next week. It can be pre-ordered HERE - a demo of the same is already available via PSN and coming soon to XBOX Live.
