Nordling here.
I have high hopes for Tarsem's IMMORTALS, which will bring the myth of Theseus to the screen. I pretty much despise Tarsem's THE CELL, but there's no denying that he has a rich visual sense, and THE FALL is a terrific film, full of imagination and wonder. Fandango premiered these posters after WonderCon debuted them, and I especially admire the look - they obviously want to recall 300, but I think Tarsem's stamp definitely is on these character shots:
Now THAT's a helmet. I hope IMMORTALS really does Greek mythology right - the CLASH OF THE TITANS remake utterly failed in bringing the splendor and magic of those myths to the screen, and if Tarsem can pull it off I think we're in for something great. Also, we'll see Henry Cavill play Theseus, and although I haven't watched THE TUDORS, I'm curious to see what the soon-to-be-Superman brings to the film. IMMORTALS stars Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff, Isabel Lucas, John Hurt, and Mickey Rourke, and opens November 11, 2011.
Nordling, out.
