‘There Are No Monsters In The Oval Office!!’ The DOCTOR WHO 32nd Season Prequel Starring President Richard Nixon!!
I think they may have gotten a Britisher to play Nixon. Next time they cast Nixon they should hire a good American like Anthony Hopkins.
The new season launches April 23 on the BBC and BBC America.

Nine Kubrick Films On Blu-ray, Including “Barry Lyndon” and “Lolita,” For $105!!

Yeah!
-
Matt Smith is doing an outstanding job, and I really love the characters of Amy and Rory.
-
...there's an American Anthony Hopkins? I am not familiar with his work. You must check out the performances of Sir Anthony Hopkins, a fine Welsh actor, who has started in movies such as the Silence of the Lambs and, er, Nixon... Wait a minute. We're talking about the same person, right?
-
This is going to be good!

Herc was obviously joking, kubricksnutsack
by CHRISTIAN_BALE_TRASHED_MY_LIGHTS
It's like saying "They should have cast a good German actor like Alan Rickman" (Hans Gruber) or "They should have cast a good English actor like Robert Downey Jr" (Sherlock Holmes).
-
.... is going to ROCK!!! Neil Gaimen! More Matt Smith AWESOMENESS!!! I lent my copy of season 5 to a friend from work so she could watch them with her kids and they've all fallen in love with the Doctor & Amy (and her ten year old may have a crush on 'the soldier who waited' as she's a bit of a romantic! HAHA!) I'm excited to see plot threads from last season and before come to a head and see what new little mysteries Moffat dangles before us like sonic screwdrivers in a Christmas mist! ROLL ON EASTER! And a very fine hello to all my fellow 'Docbackers'... you know who you are!
-
Fantastic pacing of the editting/camerawork throughout the slow reveal of all the little details.
-
it's time for a dead companion ala Adric.
-
Sublime and super creepy. That had the hairs on my neck sticking up. Just great camerawork. April 23 cannot get here soon enough!
-
.....love that little joke, specially using Tricky Dicky!
-
Wow, that just fucking worked. Obviously, the monster in the Oval Office was Richard Nixon but is beside the point. Wow, the child's voice, Nixon, then the "monster" at the end. Wow, I am amazed...
-
I agree with everyone else. Really good, really creepy. I love the camera work/editing/lighting. The whole "you have to look behind you" is classic Moffat creepiness, up there with "Are you my Mommy?"
-
There were moments where I thought he'd suddenly shout "The Beatles!" and slip sideways off camera. If Hopkins weren't so grey and wrinkled and podgy I think someone could have made a great Ed Sullivan biopic.
-
unless you consider Boston to be in Britain. Nixon is played by Stuart Milligan, so he's a bona fide Americaner :p
-
*shiver*
-
I believe they prefer to be called Limeys.
-
At least it's a reference to a great achievement, i.e. the curing of scurvy.
-
Just a month, kids and fellows, just one more month! I won't even blink when this episode arrives! It's my human nature that I demand silence in the library from everyone while watching it. It marks the end of time without The Doctor. I think I'll watch it midnight or the eleventh hour in cold blood, and I surely won't miss one bit! I don't blink... I don't blink... I won't blink!
-
The episode was going to be called "Look behind you". So that's name checked nicely. Creepy child voice. Sinister warnings. The Nixon era White House means this is post JFK. So the White House won't necessarily be the good guys. (Not a criticism, just an observation.) The "monsters are real" monster, I thought looked more like a grey in an MIB suit from the first trailer. Now, I'm thinking the head is differently shaped than our friends from zeta reticuli, and it looks more like a squid or shrimp or something. Definitely a creepy look. Will kids get nightmares? Quite possibly. Will this involve The Silence? Or "The Silents" ? Very likely. Will the thing that Amy wanted to talk to the Doctor about, be referenced? Unlikely. Final point, while it's on my mind... there are now VAST spoilers out there, amidst all the other junk that usually accompanies the launch of a season. (Junk like x,y,z characters coming back. Romana, Adric, etc... ) But in amongst the junk, are real spoilers. Spoilers that WILL ruin the surprises of the coming season. And you'll probably know them when you see them because suddenly a lot of things click into place, and you recognise a Moffat storyline when you see one. So if you don't want to be spoiled, it's time to stop frequenting spoilers and rumour sites. Because unlike last season, they are out there in a big big way. (Maybe change of management in some aspects of the show have led to a lessening of security? Who knows.)
-
I was half expecting the child to say "Are you my Mommy?"

Oh man, don't remind me of that Gas-Mask Kid.... brrrrrr!!
by Big_Bubbaloola
Considering Doc Who is ostensibly a family show, Moffatt, when not being show-runner, had a real tendancy to bring the shivers. The gas-mask kid being the big one!!!!
-
He's a naturalized US citizen.
-
i thought of the veshta nerada. dr meets river song there for the first time. that episode was called the silence in the library. even though that was tennant era. as was the ood. as was river song, strangely enough. at some point, the dr was split in two or there are two drs, and that has been mentioned before, here. we dont know who the silence is or are. but they created the pandorica. they are nasty and creepy looking. the pandorica will open, slience will fall.....means that they appear via the pandorica and their silence kills alien worlds. there are no monsters in the oval office....and the camera turns and we see a silent. that scene gave me the chills. what is chilling is the possibility that the silents are trying to kill off alien worlds to finally kill off the dr...and the dr has never met the silents. before.

Why Does Republicans in Office = Black Night of Fascism?
by spire_walk
What I find hilarious is that JFK had actually done the same sort of dirty tricks to Nixon back in '60. Some JFK operatives broke into Nixon's campaign HQ at one point to gather intel. But as history will show us, time and time again, whatever a Dem does is good and just and whatever a Republican does is dirty and evil. That being said, Nixon was a scumbag when it came to domestic policy and helped solidify the rule of banksters and the federal reserve. But I do love how Nixon seems to get blamed for Vietnam....yet JFK and especially LBJ escalated it.
-
River had never heard of the Vashta Nerada. "we dont know who the silence is or are. but they created the pandorica." No, the Pandorica was created by the Alliance. (And we haven't seen the last of them, either.) "means that they appear via the pandorica" No, the Pandorica is finished with. "and their silence kills alien worlds." I don't think so.
-
Where are the long rounded corridors in the White House? Small detail, but annoys me.
-
We've traced the call...and it's coming from...INSIDE the White House!
-
is a dead giveaway. It's young Amy (Emilia) Pond. Somehow. Surprised no one has caught that.
-
I thought the same thing, oisin5199, and forgot to comment on it. It definitely sounds like young Amy (which is great because I LOVED that young actress in that role! Imagine the Doctor travelling with a feisty, bright child!?).. and of course, her 'Spaceman' could refer to The Doctor... Anyone else have any thoughts on that possibility? <br> And v'shael ... good to see you, my friend. I'm exciting these forums to discuss the good Doctor are returning!!!
-
Just read some news that smith has signed up for the next season in 2012 , great news , i know not everybody is a fan of this doctor who but i love what there trying to do
-
and at the very end of vampires of venice, the queen turns to the dr and says "dr....do you hear that" and the dr says no and the queen says that is the sound of silence. suddenly a planet which is alive and thriving and at the end of the ep, there is only the dr, rory and amy. it fits the pattern of the series. the pandorica will open, silence will fall....
-
is killing off intergalatic populations. i have been trying to stay away from the season 6 spoilers. some of the conjecture is wide of the mark. regarding dr who in the past. the silence are brand new villain. and they look very creepy.
-
. . . frozen1one, purple prole (formerly the Handsome 12th Doctor), axcel, shibley . . . Doctor (Who) Doctor (Who) give me the news, I've got a bad case of . . . And, thanks again Syfy, for taking The Good Doctor off your, getting shittier by the second, channel. I needs more wrasslin', and a few more shows about searching for ghosts and such. FU!
-
that RTD has nothing to do with it. Can't wait for the Gaiman and Gatiss episodes.
-
just wanted to thank you for not spoiling the 'game changer/cliffhanger' from episode 6x07 in the other Dr. Who talkback. I didn't know the spoilers were even out there already, so now I know to be extra careful not to run into them
-
I'll let shibley and frozen01 know that there's a new 'Docback' up and running... and we've just learned that the title of Neil Gaimen's episode is called.... 'The Doctor's Wife'!??! Interesting... but likely as misleading as 'The Doctor's Daughter' was...
-
I think you yanks can't tell a proper Scottish accent when you hear one.
-
...has been confirmed as a particular child actress who is cast in that episode, and not the girl who played young Amy.
-
Although he's young actorwise, he's convincingly played the role as the "oldest" doctor since William Hartnell. Unlike a lot of people on here I also really liked the RTD stuff. Of the original 8 doctors, Jon Pertwee is my favorite, although I prefer the Tom Baker stories because I generally like the ones in the far future and deep in outerspace the most, which Baker had a lot of, but as Doctors themselves go, I liked Pertwee the best Of the new 3 doctors, it would be impossible for me to pick a favorite, each of them has been great in their own way, although I would say story wise the majority of my favorites are all during the Tennant Era. I think series 5 was consistently good throughout, but I don't think there were any real standout episodes like there were during Tennant era. Obviously all the moffat episode while he was working with RTD are among the best, but there were also a number of other great non-moffat episodes like Midnight, the satan pit, human nature, the shakespear code, doomsday, dalek, planet of the ood, etc.
-
They're not going with that, but they should. It would be awesome if he led the world to world peace, and then the Doctor had to convince him to make another decision and be viewed as a monster we know today.
-
i dont to have to avoid the internet for a year to enjoy a show i watch
-
lots of people have - Anthony Hopkins and Frank Langella of course, but there are some interesting others: Bob Gunton in "Elvis Meets Nixon" (more a caricature than portrayal) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQQPky5BzqU&feature=related Beau Bridges in "Kissinger and Nixon" (he was really bad) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyvngJ46Alk&feature=related Dan Hedaya in "Dick" (pretty funny) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wVcSSQGpL4 Phillip Baker Hall in "Secret Honor" (he's the 'library nazi' from Seinfeld, and a pretty bad Nixon) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAwpVJ7ZSTA Robert Wiseden in "Watchmen" (with a face full of bad prosthetics) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayEUQ-fqq6Y But by far the BEST in my opinion is Lane Smith, from the film "Final Days" - (he really nails the voice and gives Nixon deeper dimension than the shallower portrayals) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAwpVJ7ZSTA and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgIpVULKAEI&feature=related and then there's the Nixon head in a jar on Futurama ...
-
Anthony Hopkins a great american. Do you people think you own everything on Earth Wake up Hopkins was born in wales He's welsh you headgeek!!!

the proffessionals are coming to the big screen. thats right the proffessionals, you all know the one with lewis collins and martin Shaw and the actor who play mistah hudson Gordon Jackson. dream casting wishes begin now.....

by axcel1
I keep hearing people talk about season (series) 6 having 13 episodes. We have always had 13 regular episodes and a Xmas Special. Are we only getting 13 episodes and no Xmas Special this years?
-
It hasn't been written yet though. (Script for the Christmas special is usually doing the rounds by end of June/start of July)
-
Got an email address or something?

@davidcloverfield - It's been done, sorta. Remember Red Dwarf?
by tangcameo
That one episode where they go back in time (by accident I think) and accidentally knock Oswald out the window of the depository, saving Kennedy by accident, only to find out JFK gets impeached if he lives and WWIII happens. And so [censored] ends up going back and shooting JFK?
-
In the preview at Christmas we hear and see Amy asking the Doctor to trust them and something about they can't tell him what's wrong. I think that was part of it. That can't be Amy. She's young enough to be my daughter and I was 2 when Nixon resigned. Unless Moffat finally bought into the Davies era idea of time/space defying cellphones. Unnnnlessss it was young Amy in the Tardis on that phone that's currently in the 11th Doctor version.
-
I have no problem at all with spoilers and - you know me - would never spoil for anyone else in the public forums.... by all means throw some my way... Most of the ones I've read all sorta say the same old thing but if you have something juicy I haven't heard yet I'd LOVE TO! <br> poguemahone20@hotmail.com

Kennedy tried to PULL OUT of Vietnam...he even completed an Executive Order to do so...then he was shot. LBJ, upon becoming president, DID then go into Vietnam and effectively START the action... ...then NIXON became president when LBJ refused to run for a second term - and NIXON escalated the Vietnam war. Judging from your comment, you didn't even know that Nixon came AFTER LBJ and Kennedy. Good grief, man, no offense, but if you're going to talk about these things, at least know basic presidential sequence.
-
"are you my mommy?" Yeah that was a great one indeed. Wondering what else is in store and if he can top that.

My e-mail address is axcel1@optonline.net. If you have any spoilers you would like to tell me, thank you. Seriously, I like to know them. I'm one of those guys who goes to the movie spoilers websites before seeing the movie.
-
Sorry, I'm at work... and I'm sure Simon's in his loft playing with his rather extensive collection of Doctor Who goodies. I'm not jealous at all :P
-
I'm pretty sure if they skipped the Christmas special there would be riots in several countries.
-
Just saying.
-
I think it's one of the best things on tv. Well acted, well shot, well written (really well written). Though I am liking the more personal stuff and not the "Everything everywhere is in danger" stories because where do you go after that? Also, I love the continuing stories. Keep it coming!
-
Welcome back, my dear! Can we pull Simon away from his loft before he becomes the madman in the attic? Wait a minute! He went up? Never came down? Could be he building a TARDIS in his loft?
-
Who gets a Slender man feel to this, or is it just me?
-
Wasn't aware that the term "yank" encompassed Irish-Canadians as well :P Or did Pogue obtain an American citizenship while I wasn't looking? ;)

by axcel1
We better get a Xmas Special or I will riot, in an orderly manner, of course.
-
It's Simon we're talking about here. Building a TARDIS is probably his #1 plan to get himself to the States, so who knows? ;)
-
You'll be reading about the Great Chicago Riot of 2011 for years to come ;)
-
Born in Ireland - raised in Canada... and fiercely proud of both places... no "yank" citizenships for me yet although that doesn't preclude me having lots of wonderful American friends such as yourself. <br> Speaking of which, I miss gotlik. I hope all is well in his world. <br> And speaking of Ireland I'll have all sorts of pics to put up pn the book of faces over the next few days, frozen. I'm lucky to be able to at all... I had a bit of a drunken accident one night and have the cuts and rather severe bruises to prove it. But I made it home in one piece. Remember kids... drinking your body weight without eating and running into Dublin's busiest street is a recipe for disaster! Also? Gravity is a harsh mistress.
-
I saw the bum bruise. Simon and I were wondering, but a bit afraid to ask :P Figured it had something to do with intoxicants ;) Get those pics up! I need to live vicariously through you until I board that plane on the 22nd... Oh, and I'm guessing we're not gonna be hearing from gotilk any time soon. It's been months and months :(
-
As one of our more passionate Whovians - and a swell guy to chat with, to boot - I've been wondering about his whereabouts for months. I hope all is well.... maybe if we all think 'GOTLIK' really hard he'll feel the love and come back our way.
-
I don't know if Hercules knows it or doesn't and thought he was joking, but as I posted earlier, Anthony Hopkins is a naturalized US citizen. If you don't believe me, look it up for yourself.
-
I know :( He just kinda dropped off the face a' the planet, it seems. Hope he's okay.

Look behind you! We see our fearless leader every day...
by wtriker1701
...but you HAVE to look behind you! Kiddin' here, folks. But we all have never heard or read of him again, heve we? I (back then) gave him the hint to take (now obsolete) old talkbacks to revive our comm (and it worked for ye all) but some day he just vanished... I also hope, he's alive and well. Gotlik, IF you can read this - google this, find this... we all are still here, waiting for you. Nowerdays we even don't have to spam old docbacks, new ones come as early as rainy days. Come back, if you can, old friend! We miss you! Hope, he hasn't "blink"ed one day...
-
Frozen, Shibley and I have had the good fortune to get to know each other a bit better through the joys of the book of faces and for a while gotlik joined right in! Then nothing. He's a cool guy with a fondness for The Doctor that made for some awesome discussions. We all, too, wish he would come back and take up his mantle as our 'Fearless Leader'!!!
-
Apparently, so are bowties, fezzes and stetsons.....
-
that the first two episodes... the two-parter... will air back-to-back on the 23rd and 24th? I sure hope so! Cuz if that's the case, and episode 3 airs the following weekend, I will be in the UK for THREE episodes! XD And then returning to the US for the Gaiman ep! *suppresses a squee for the sake of your eardrums*
-
Watching The Doctor on his home turf WOULD be cool!
-
I'll admit. But I enjoyed reading you havin' fun in the docbacks. See? I even haven't known you met elsewhere than the cool of news - so apparently I lost track over the time... But has gotlik told anyone of you, that he would not continue to share the fun? Has he had health problems? Or his mother? I seem to recollect he'd been tellin' something like that back then... Anyway, glad you are all ok (I hope and wish!) Hoppin' in from time to time. Greetings from Platjenwerbe!

I agree with Heinlien, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, now gravity . . . usually gravity is just a bitch.

by omarthesnake
kidding, i know no rumors. but i have to say, as someone inclined to dislike Herc since he's such a smarmy little tit, people lay off him. the Hopkins thing was obviously a joke. sheesh.

I wondered who that guy was in the chair in the preview. (I won't say anymore.)
-
He was robbed of the Best Actor Oscar by Sean Penn. Frank Langella's acting in "Frost/Nixon" was mesmorizing. Penn should have given him the Oscar instead, because he all ready has one. He doesn't need two.
-
and so cant comment.
-
That clip is aces. Frozen, there have been people saying the first two eps will be shown on the same weekend. But no news of that sort has come from the BBC yet. Naturally I'm hoping it turns out to be true too. So hey, you're going to be over in this fair isle when it's on. Have a great Who-trip. :)
-
Pogue is right, we all ned to think GOTLIK and bring him back from whichever reality he has gone too! Rich, i can feel the excitement building too young man, its getting me a bit giddy! Pogue, glad you had a great trip and were there cobbles involved in the bruising????? Frozen01 :P Purple, its good ta see you, the gangs all here :) :) :) and i no longer have to type <br> :) and a major plus is i can now log in and not just lurk, felt wierd :)
-
Theres a new trailer expected sometime today folks! :)

We're all getting giddy now. :) I've just been reading about Gaiman's episode. Is this new news about Michael Sheen voicing a character? Or am I dimly behind the times in hearing about this.

Moving on from the subject of your............damn whats the word...........Bruised behind! :P I have just come down from the loft were things are going nicely, its that bastard vortex manipulator circuit playing havoc, knew i should have bought original parts and not some cheap stuff, well if this works........... I will set the dials for Chicago 2011 and prolly end up in Hastings in 1066! Wait i hear a childs voice coming from above the landing................ "Are you my dummy?" Could be me! :P
-
Mr Evans you have mail, read it at your peril, its soooo spoilery its not true! :P
-
Forward it to Rich (Axcel) but only if he begs for it! :P
-
LOLOLOLOL Nice :) Making up for lost time are we? And :P right back atcha. (By the way, Amy's house is NOT a TARDIS!)
-
Never said it was breaking news, hun! LOL
-
Besides the title of the episode, I haven't read much on the Gaiman ep. Honestly, I don't wanna know. Now, on the American Gods movie? I wanna hear EVERYTHING, cuz I already know that story (oh, and it's a great one)! But a new story I've never read or seen before? I wanna go in as fresh and spoiler-free as possible! :) And yes, giddy. You have NO idea. I'm a HUGE Gaiman fan. I've never before been able to say that my favorite author is writing an episode for my favorite TV show!!! I couldn't be bouncing off the walls more if you stuck me with a caffeine IV. ;)
-
Can you hand me the sonic screwdriver, i wanna reverse the polarity of the neutron flow :P
-
Amy's House is a Tardis, Tenner on it!
-
I think you've never seen a Tardis before, if you think that.
-
It's all here! (Mostly! C'Mon Gotlik! Don't let us down!) I'm getting all teary eyed and nostalgiac! I lent a friend series 6 to watch with her kids (girl 10/ boy 7) and they are now obsessed with the Doctor. So much so that Zoe took a big piece of paper, painted it with the left over paint from her recent bedroom redecoration.... googled 'the Crack'... and painted herself a large crack on her bedroom wall. And Nash is begging his Mom to buy a new fridge so he can paint the box like a TARDIS! The best part? Mom loves it too and loves that the Doctor solves his problems with wit, intelligence and diplomicy rather than violence as most shows usually do. She used to roll her eyes at my love of Who. Now she's a Whovian herself. I must continue to spread the word. Any of you have any cool stories about turning nay-sayers to our side or sharing your love of the show? They'd be fun to share!
-
I'm gobsmacked! I had NOOOOOO idea! How can I keep this out of the main forum!?!
-
Oh, you're on. Better have cash in hand, dear :P (And I expect it to be 10 quid, by the way... don't try sticking me with the cheaper currency!)
-
Only one. I've had many "Whovians-in-training", but only one was a "naysayer" beforehand. Then I got his wife hooked on it and he has no choice but to like it ;) The one I'm most proud of is a friend of mine whose children are also now hooked on the show and could probably out-do me in the quotes department. Apparently they're also now bugging their dad to take them to London so they, too, can see the Doctor Who Experience *LOL* I'm gonna have to pick up some nice souvenirs for them, I think (Simon, please remind me! Gotta utilize that 10% Silver package discount! *LOL*)

GAH! I'm so curious now!!!!!!! WHHHHHHYYYYY did you have to say that?!?!?!?!

Some may remember me as the Amy hater from the last Docback
by RICHARD_GERE_RAPED_MY_GERBIL
I'm going to attempt to give her another chance this season, although she's got a lot of work to do in order to win me over. I will admit, however, that she became a lot more tolerable toward the end of the previous season. Still not a fan though. I'd totally fuck her though.
-
He better get back here before silence falls otherwise I'm gonna go all Black Guardian on his ass. (That's not gay slang by the way)
-
My mate went out for a beer with Smith and said he just has 'it'. Just as crackers in real life and a really nice bloke with a very quick mind (my mates the bassist in Faithless btw, just in case you were wondering - he was out partying with George Michael and Johnny Lydon the other week too the lucky beggar).
-
And he says that he can kick your mate's arse.
-
if your mate is really the basist in faithless, please ask him when are the going to stop doing the same set at glastonbury, they have been doing that same set for 15 years. faithless are defunct anyway....
-
Good, I'm glad you got that out of your system.
-
Just got back from vacation and CAN'T BELIEVE that they start another righteous DocBack whilst I am living it the hell up! How are you my friend?????? Frozen, Shibs, Vshael et al- hope you are all splendidly well! Have a couple of Doc spoliers for the next season, but as non have been verified and they have the potential to shake the very Earth to its core I will not part with them. The teaser was excellent and just the thing to get me in the mood for S6- change in tone and atmosphere....reeeaaaalllll creepy, especially for the lead off episodes.

Our friend, Vshael was kind enough you send me one because I do want spoilers, will continue to politely ask for more and will look for them. I like spoilers.
-
If you're asking for them then thou shalt receive- but not from me I'm afraid. ;) However, should you desire a drink, then I would consider having it with "ICE..." and directly from a "River..." MMMWWWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA....
-
I will take your £10 bet on that, my friend!

Sam, I'm just guessing, but.............................................
by axcel1
In your own crazy way, I think you're trying to give me a spoiler.
-
mate he was obivously joking about Hopkins but its kinda half true anyway as Hopkins has been a nationalized American citizen for years...

axcel- well I just might be. (And here there BE spoliers..)
by sam jacksons wig
Do not read any further if you don 't want to be spoiled..... I warn you...... don't do it. Okay- your choice....... Season 6 major spoiler is....... sorry, someones at my door. Hello- oh, you represent Stphen Moffat... and he'll what with my arse if I say anything else? Go Black Guardian on it? AHA! So the Moff is Richard Gere, eh??????
-
I'm good, dude. Can you believe it's been so long since the last lot of Docbacks? Good to see you're still around. The upcoming Docbacks wouldn't have been the same without you. I wonder if that crazy dude will also come back. Can't remember his name but he had all of these outlandish theories about stuff and generally pissed people off.
-
The erm...person to whom you reference is none other than (takes deep breath, crosses himself and sprinkles holy water around the house) HornOrSilk. Good to hear that you are well! Just like me to miss the start of the DocBack due to my vacation time (which I am still on, but spending the remainder at home blobbing out and catching up on some truly excellent television.) but it is great to catch up with you all. Hey- not too long and we'll be attempting to decode every little nugget of screen time in a vain attempt to decipher the riddles of Season 6. It was just my luck to meet up with a very good friend who is a raging Who-phile, and he imparted some words of wisdom regarding potential spoilers (before I threatened to shove my pint glass up his arse lest he desist immediately.) I will post them a little later for anyone who would care to look. Hey- we're all adults here and we make our own decisions. Nice of you and Shibs to miss me! Later dudes....!!!

Okay- you have all been warned- SPOILERS are contained within.
by sam jacksons wig
For frigs sake DO NOT blame me if you choose to read the following information. As with all spoilers, these may not be rooted in fact, but are mearly suppositions based on past events and what seems to make the most sense. DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO BE COVERED IN A LARGE HELPING OF SPOILERS.... 1) The cliffhanger episode is said to have an Empire Strikes Back feel to it. It has been rumoured that the Doctor will be encased in ice and taken as a prisoner by the Cybermen, after being betrayed by someone he thought was a friend. 2) River Song is a Time Lady. She is seen wearing a Chamelion Arc around her neck. 3) River Song and the Clerics from Season 5 weeping Angels double bill are working for the Omega...... ...... yup- check out their right arms and see the Omega design on them with the Roman Numerals for the number 2 (II) within the Omega design. It has been theorised that this represents the second coming of the Omega. 4) It will be revealed that the Omega is the voice in the Tardis at the end of Season 5 stating that Silence will fall. So it would be a safe bet to say that part of the story arc will centre around the silence/silents working for him. Of course this may all be utter shite, but hey! Isn't that what spoilers are for? Debate, debunk and demystify, my fellow DocBackers.
-
Better start filling that TARDIS bank of yours, hun. Looks like you're gonna need the money ;)

Oh, look, the leaves have defrosted. O:-)

Frozen!!! My Chicago belle..... survived Bay blowing lots of shit up...
by sam jacksons wig
How are you doing?
-
Yeah, those have been around for a while. The Empire feel may not actually be related to Han Solo and Carbonite. It may in fact, be more related to .... the thematic Luke/Leia getting away, but our hero doesn't. I do not believe that River is a time lady, because the spoiler for the chameleon arch came about from one shoddy video of a scene being shot on location. No matter how often I played the footage, I couldn't see how anyone could say "THAT'S AN ARCH!!" It's a case of seeing it because you want it to be true, I think. Omega 2... To be honest, rumours about Omega have been flying for ages. And yes, the Clerics badge does LOOK like an Omega, with two bars running through it. And there was a certain somebody brought in for a costume fitting, who very well might be playing Omega... but even though he did the voice in the Tardis in the Big Bang episode, I just can't bring myself to believe it's Omega. I just can't.
-
Fantastic! Just saw the full-length trailer. Holycrapholycrapholycrapholycrap!!!!! XD I might be peeling myself off the ceiling tile for a bit... How're you?
-
As I said, they may be pure shite. Who knows (no pun intended.) what will happen until it does. However, it does create for an interesting debate, and that's what we're here for.
-
Looking forward to the whole thing kicking off soon!!!! Toblerones are in the fridge ready- but they wont last....

Sorry, Sam...................................................................
by axcel1
Our man, v'shael has spoken. His episode 7 cliffhanger ending (The mysterious man in the chair) sounds like the one that will happen. Don't get me wrong, I hope you're both right, only because I'm a fan of the (Mondasian) Cybermen and because we do know that the Cybermats return this year. And, where there's a Cybermat, there must be Cybermen.

As for Omega....................................................................
by axcel1
Hey, it could happen, they brought back Rassilon, in the form of Timothy Dalton, why not Omega?
-
Ah! Toblerone! I'd forgotten! Um... Maybe I should stuff some in my carry-on just in case... Not sure I'll have time to scour the Docklands for chocolate before air time... can't watch the premiere without Toblerone! ;) Then again, it might not survive a 9-hour flight, even if it is a redeye *LOL* And yes, it's a GREAT trailer! Can't wait to get home from work so I can watch it on something other than my phone *grumble*
-
Just saw the trailer. (I've been away from the computer...) FUCK ME THAT'S GOOD WRITING. Voice : "Fear me. I have killed hundreds of Time Lords." The Doctor : "Fear *me*. I've killed *all* of them." I literally shouted for joy when I heard that line. And I'm one of those people who uses the word literally in the correct sense, not as a synonym for metaphorically.
-
Since I'm at work and couldn't shout, I did the next best thing... put it on Facebook *LOL* Had a FB friend respond that she thought Smith delivered the line like he didn't care, though. I blame RTD and his soap-opera style for ruining her expectations ;) I thought it was delivered brilliantly! So sad, so defeated. But as another friend pointed out... nothing can beat the line at the end of Time of Angels.

Oh, that trailer.............................................................
by axcel1
Very, very interesting.
-
why do i get the feeling that dr who is going to be cancelled and this is the very last series of dr who. i could be wrong. and wide of the mark. and i read here smith is in the tardis untill 2013. but it does seem that there are dark times ahead for the dr. almost like he is being set up to be killed or something. i cant shake the feeling, thats all.

emeraldboy, don't take this the wrong way, but...................................................
by axcel1
Please, shake that feeling. I think I can speak for all Who fans when I say that we are all dreaming of a 50th anniversary Special (Dare we also dream that it's a 90+ minute movie? Yes, we do!!!!) in 2013 with the last FOUR, yes, I said, Four Doctors saving us from an evil, so evil, that it will take all four of them to save us. Are we dreaming too high? No, I say, NO, we are not!!!!!
-
With how much they're promoting Doctor Who in the States now, I HIGHLY doubt cancellation is anywhere on the horizon.
-
What is that red light that River is spinning around? Looks suspiciously like a sonic screwdriver to me....... And I agree with emeraldboy- something VERY VERY bad looms on the horizon for our favourite time traveller. And the good man that River Song says that she has killed? Alot of theorising is being done over the fact that it may be JFK. (however I am not convinced.) And frozen- I'm sorry I wont be able to do your garden this year.....mine is peppered with cat shit from next door..... little bastards.....
