Amy Adams Is SUPERMAN's Lois Lane!
Nordling here.
Great casting, if you ask me. Amy Adams is funny, full of spirit, and dare I say, kinda hot. And she's going to be Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL, according to Hero Complex.
It wasn't clear for a while that Lois would even be in this new iteration, but thankfully the character remains because she's a challenge both to Clark Kent and Superman. Now that she's been cast, it's difficult to think of anyone else playing the part. That's perfect casting, in my opinion.
I know Snyder's said Viggo Mortensen isn't going to be Zod, but now that Mortensen won't be in SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, perhaps a reconsideration would be in order? Or should he use another character altogether?
Nordling, out.

I really can't stand Amy Adams, especially when there are so many better choices for Lois Lane...
-
I really truly am. I just hope the script is worth it.
-
and based on that, great choice!

Regardless of casting I still think Snyder will blow it.
by alienindisguise
I don't think he understands how to build characters much less carry them through their arcs in the course of a movie especially with something as possibly complex as Superman can be. I would like to see Superman not only wrestling with his identity and whatever hopefully cosmic villain is trying to thwart him but to see him wrestle with the fact that he can't save everyone or stop every crime. With any luck Nolan will step in for fixes if he feels it's going to shit. Then again he could sully his name with this like Spielberg did by exec. producing the Transformers shitfest.
-
That was one for the ages. As talented as she is, I don't think it's possible that she can top it.
-
I love when movies like this get these actresses that are too good for something like this. The again I think this is gonna tank. Sucker Punch has really hurt any goodwill Zack Snyder had, just like Superman Returns hurt any goodwill the Superman franchise had.
-
What will Adam Shankman do?
-
i like here; i think she's spunky which might suit the character. That said, I'm still not hoping for much in terms of the film
-
and tough at the same time so this is great casting

AICN talkbackers never met a story they couldn't be cynical about

-
Better than Bosworth IMHO. But isn't she about ten years older than Cavill?
-
I like Amy Adams. I just don't know if I like her as Lois. I think she's probably about the right age (fuck hiring someone under 25), but I think I would have rather seen a true brown-eyed brunette actress in the role. You know, if this were made a decade ago, Diane Lane would have been perfect.
-
I suppose this is a good decision. She is a god actress and could definitely play the type A reporter. I don’t think she is especially attractive, but I *guess* that shouldn’t be the point. Sigh.
-

Amy Adams is a total Lana Lang! I adore her, but she's not Lois Lane.
by The Krypton Kid
-
She's a talented actress, and can certainly play both the comedic and dramatic aspects, but she's soooo pale and freckled and red-headed. A brunette wig will look ridiculous on her. And she's not Zooey Deschanel. Sorry.
-
There's quite a few actresses out there who can LL, but she HAS to look right, and not what the idiots running the Spiderman movies did- cast people who didn't look like they should- i.e, the wrong hair color (Mary Jane Watson) in the movies, and have the wrong personalities. Most of these genre movies are so poorly made that it defies description- poor casting, bad plots, etc. Hopefully Snyder will be smarter than that As I always say- the RIGHT PEOPLE for the RIGHT ROLES. This is why Rogen's hideously turd-awful Green Hornet movie bombed like it did.
-
Despite what you think of the Transformers films, the studio only thinks of Spielberg as a hero based on how much the franchise has earned.
-
If Prince Edward from "Enchanted" could be Lois Lane's significant other in the previous Superman movie, then why not have Giselle herself as Lois in this one? PAD
-
No doubt she can handle the role, but will the role give her enough to make it worthwhile?

I'm a little concerned about Lois looking 14 years-old again...
by Roman Troy Moronie
Like she did in Singer's Superman Returns...

she's 36 years old

She has everything Lois Lane needs. Perfect. Zack Snyder can do no wrong in my opinion....so far ;)

“good actress.” I liked her in that jewel thief movie.

WTH?! Just because you're an Oscar nom makes for good casting.
by HollywoodHellraiser
I knew this reboot would be bad news and its just keeps getting worse!
-
Tough questions. No one really comes to mind. Sandra Bullock a few years ago could do it. Kate Beckinsale is much more attractive, and she's talented too (though been in a lot of crap lately).
-
And this makes me even more conflicted for this movie. On the one hand, its going to be yet another origin story with a rushed into production script. On the other hand....with Zack snyder on board it'll at least LOOK amazing and Amy Adams is yummy. I dont know what to think at this point.
-
Then I say set this in '38 and have Amy do the spunky fast talking gal Lois began as, not the crusty old career woman Kidder made her. Think Adams Night at the Museum Amelia meets Jennifer Jason Leigh in the Hudsucker Proxy.
-
great actress, but with Snyder as the director, the better actors he gets the worse i feel because they will be apart of a shitty franchise.
-
Wow. This may have just ruined the entire movie for me. Amy Adams is completely miscast for the role of Lois Lane, and it will be just as much a distraction/annoyance to moviegoers and fans, as the casting of Kate Bosworth in Bryan Singer's borefest. This is Zack Snyder's first, really big misstep (in my opinion).
-
I'll be curious to see what Adams does with the character.
-
Dare you say kind of hot?? Amy Adams is definitely hot. What a huge improvement over the 14 year old boy that two flaming screenwriters and a flaming director gave us in the last Superman film.
-
...according to cannon, Lois IS older than Clark, and Amy Adams fits that bill as well as being a phenomenal actress with amazing range. And with Viggo circling the film this could be the best Superman film since the first and Donner cut of the second. To those afraid of Snyder's director hat, know that with WB and Nolan on board they'll let him run around freely with visual dynamic, but will also keep reigning him in with going too wild with story. That being said I think he's a fine choice for director.
-
Needed someone a bit older with a stronger personality ... This is starting to sound horrific.
-
Bullock would still be my choice even now.
-

I was hoping for Rachael McAdams or Rose Byrne, but good choice!
by axelfoley
Amy Adams is fucking HOT. Yes, she can act. She has the "sass" to play Lois. But the best Lois Lane after Margot Kidder was Erica Durance in Smallville. That is all.
-
Snyder confirmed. Cut the fucking shit.
-
See, sometimes the simplest solution is the best .

I would be interested to see a review of Snyder’s latest film, Sucker Punch.
by Frank Conniff
That would give us more insight into his directorial skills. Someone at AICN needs to get on that.
-
She'll be playing Amelia Earhart again.
-
Strong in The Fighter, and a step up from Bosworth but that's not saying much. Looking at Cavill and her...starting to get the vibe that it'll be like watching kids play "dress-up" for a Superman Halloween party. Granted that I suppose Lois isn't meant to be some bombshell sexpot, but is strong-willed AND attractive really that hard a combination to find? At this point only Nolan's involvement keeps it somewhat intriguing for me...
-
... and she would still be a better Lois Lane than Amy Adams - who is completely miscast in the role. I even like chewtoy's comment regarding Dana Delaney, who really managed to capture the essence of the character just with her voice and inflections, etc. I know there are worse things to be upset about in the world, but I'm saddened once again by the fact that I will (seemingly) never see a great Superman movie again.
-
Yeah the dye job or wig is gonna look fantastic on her! Why do casting directors get paid for when they can't do their jobs properly? Anyone thinking this will gross more than Singer's Superman Return is delusional! This very well the final Superman film we'll see in a long time. Especially IF the the family gets the rights back!
-
Disagree with Adams being hot (though not ugly) but was definitely thinking McAdams before you blew my mind with Rose Byrne-talk about a living doll. That would be awesome.
-

Hollywoodhellraiser, Superman Returns should have been called "Ain't Donner Great?"
by axelfoley
A kiss ass homage to Richard Donner's Superman movies that was from Bryan Singer, a man who pretty much all but promised us the fresh start we're getting now. Why does no one think outside the box? Even she plays Amelia Earhart again, so fucking cynical.... it's still 11-12 times better than Kate Bosworth looking 16, with a kid, smoking butts. That was sooooo fucking forced.
-
Because if so this project is doomed.
-
Costner, Lane, Adams. This is pretty much perfection, in my opinion. It's giving the whole thing the feel of an "Event Movie". Superman Returns was good... but it always felt like it was trying too hard to be faithful, but at the same time not delivering on the Entertainment front and also having some severe problems with the timeline when being faithful... Wouldn't Lex Luthor have been a bit over the hill? Why does it feel like modern day when no-one has aged? I think Snyder and the writers will bring something fresh and more "free" than Singer's effort.
-
I think she will be better than Kate Bosworth was, who in my opinion was way too young and couldn't pull off the emotional complexity of a character like Lois
-
March 27, 2011, 1:59 p.m. CST
Axel, you thought Kate looked 16 in Superman Return?
by HollywoodHellraiser
Damn get out the house once in awhile! Kate was a terrible Lois but she hardly looked 16. She did look tired and confused. Parker Rosey would've made a better Lois,IMO. I think the bitching about Singer's homage to Donner and "fresh start" is gonna be compareable to this reboot! We're getting another orgin story from Zack and most likely an even worse Superman than Routh. So I wouldn't be nutting over Synder Superman just yet! BTW, Nolan isn't involved with this reboot. He's just the figurehead to conned the masses into thinking their getting a great setup like Batman. He was was paid by WB and concentrating on HIS last Batman film. This reboot is all Zack Synder and once it fails you can bet Nolan has it under contract that he call this movie shit once it fails!

Superman Returns tried too hard to be a Richard Donner movie
by axelfoley
Not a Bryan Singer movie. That was all him. Enough. Don't get me wrong it had a lot of good things going for it, Routh, the Williams theme (albeit John Ottman, some of the flight sequences, but that was it. No action, too much romantic pap. Superman stalks Lois and a wooden James Marsden. Thank you but no thank you.

Gah I was still hoping for Rachel McAdams but this'll do me just fine
by Dolmes
Nolan producing. Costner, Lane......I'm fascinated to see what they do with it. Hopes are very high at the moment. Very exciting times we're living through.
-
Great casting, imho Lois is a more important character to cast right than the villain. SUPERMAN RETURNS was flawed for many reasons, but one of them was definitely Bosworth's Lois. She was just an unlikeable character who seemed to spend the whole film with a massive fucking chip on her shoulder. Hopefully Amy Adams will bring both a light touch of comic romance and genuine drama when either is called for.
-
jodhpurs hot as hell in Museum 2 and had a lot of sass. In Imax 3D her ass was awesome. I think this is a great choice. Her eyes have flash and flare and she can pull off sass. You can believe she is the kind of woman that can get in serious trouble because she jumps right into it and its not something she just stumbles upon. Thumbs up on this choice. Now I just wish they had picked Lake Bell for the Wonder Woman TV show.

And how much I wanted to give it to her in that film. And your screen name is awesome.
-
She's attractive, she looks the right age for the character and she can act. Yeah, she's not a brunette but, you know, there's something called hair dye people. I'm way more worried about Snyder's involvement at this point than I am Adams'.
-
This re-boot continues to sound bad as the progress moves forward with this film. After seeing "Sucker Punch" last night I have lost all hope that Snyder will get Superman. "Sucker Punch" was a long music video. The film was 75% slow motion. Snyder will fuck up Superman. No cape? CGI costume like Green Lantern? No Johnny Williams theme? A red head as Lois Lane!? What else are they going to screw up? I bet they will make Henry Cavil speak in a scratchy low voice like Christian Bale as Batman to disguise Superman from Clark Kent. No one wants an original take on Superman's origin. We had 11 season's of "Smallville". I have no faith in Snyder to get this right.
-
Phyllis Coates and Noell Neill were both redheads. Look at some color shots of them sometime.
-
But I was kinda hoping Rachel Maddow was gonna make the jump to the big screen with this role.
-
My mistake. Either way, it goes to show that people bitching about hair color are crazy.
-
Some in-depth analysis on this bit of casting from a ninja. That would clear the matter right up.

And Snyder worries me too. He really does. I liked what he did with Watchmen though. I think if it's a comic book movie he'll be well behaved.....I hope.
-
Shame on you Nordling. She is gorgeous. And this is great, great casting. I'd watch this for Amy Adams alone.
-
Sorry, but I had to say it. I look forward to Snyder's Superman.
-
I mean, when "Batman Begins" was being made, Christian Bale wasn't a household name and he had an all-star, Oscar calibre supporting cast around him: Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Ken Watanabe, among others. Now, Henry Cavill is Superman and is not a household name (as of yet) and we already have an Oscar calibre, all-star cast surrounding him as of now: Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, now Amy Adams, and rumors surrounding Viggo Mortensen in particular for the villain (as well as Michael Shannon)! I'm sorry people but these are not Zack Snyder casting decisions! They're just not! Zack Snyder would go for more obscure names if he was casting the movie! These are Christopher Nolan decisions and he is the producer after all and probably has more power over the direction of the movie than Snyder! He and David Goyer and possibly Jonathan Nolan wrote the script and story and Snyder is just a director for hire here! Plus, after Warner Bros. being pissed about Sucker Punch, they probably want Nolan to have a tighter leash on Zack Snyder in pre-production so he's getting actors who he probably knows will give great performances despite the direction being lax when it comes to acting! So, calm the fuck down!

They gonna dye her hair and give her contact lenses? Coz she's all wrong!
by CeejayNightwing
Might as well make her Chinese or Black if you're gonna ignore the look of the character from the comics. Lois is a brown eyed Brunette, the complexion on a Red Head is nothing like Brunette, it's not something you can fake! Amy Adams has very typical pale as hell complexion of a Redhead! She looks like a great Lana Lang but as Lois, only those who haven't a clue about casting will go for this. Film is looking like another failed opportunity already!
-
Is Amy Adams kinda hot? Seriously? That has to be asked/implied? I don't know, is Kate Beckinsale hot? How about Charlize Theron? As for Amy Adams, she is a damn good actress that can play the fast talking and fiercely determined type of character that is Lois Lane. On the subject of superhero films, wake me when someone figures put how to make a good film version of The Punisher.
-
she's an overrated actress, she's stiff and dull, I always feel that she's trying to act instead of thinking of her as the character

Too many stars i.e Adams, Costner = small budget for sfx???
by HollywoodHellraiser
And If thats not the case, than expect this reboot to be in an even worse condition to turn a profit. We know thats why Singer was given the heave-ho because SR didn't gross enough for WB. Even if it did make money. WB better keep an eye on Synder budget since they're so concern with profits given their last Superman outing.
-
I would've preferred Rachel McAdams all the way... but after deserved critical mauling that Snyder's wet-dream cartoon / ADD teenager's video-game-on-film has taken, casting is sadly looking like the least of the Big Blue Boy Scout's problems.
-
Dana Delany is/was the PERFECT Lois Lane, and really wished that she would be casted in the new Superman movie. Her personality, character, moxie, came out in her voice acting work on Superman TAS, and it would be a GREAT choice to have her play in the live action movie instead of Amy Adams. Snyder really goofed on this one, but that really isn't a surprise, though, considering that Hollywood has NO CLUE WHATSOEVER as to how to cast for a movie.
-
It looks like we'll have a new, star-spangled, symbol for Truth, Justice and the American Way! Move over, Superman, because Captain America is about to take your place. That's one movie that seems to be getting everything right!
-
I am sure Superman will not fly either but "LEAP tall buildings with a single bound" The leaps threw the air all through out "Sucker Punch" proves this is the direction he will be going in if he is reinventing the wheel. This movie is going to suck.

GREATEST ASS ON THE PLANET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by Illuminate
Wow, they are really taking casting Lois Lane seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amy Adams is an Oscar Nominee and a serious actress. She practically changes personalities and sometimes looks from role to role. Lois Lane is a hard character to perfect, since the last person who played the part in Superman Returns played it one-dimensional. Kate Bosworth just came off as annoyingly bitchy. Yeah right, if Lois Lane was simply bitchy which she is not. Kate Bosworth was a flat chested penis shrinker. Amy Adams can bring in everything that she fucking lacked. Amy Adams can bring in: 1. Subtle humor (which I have not seen in any of the Lois Lane's on TV or movies). Teri Hatcher acting like a dumb blond dork does not count. Hell Amy Adams is at Christopher Reeve level (who was roomates with Robin Williams in college). 2. She can bring in teary drama. Which let's face it, Terry Hatcher could NOT do on her best day. 3. She can make her character's emotions three dimensional. 4. If Amy Adams amps up the sex appeal and makes Lois Lane as sexy as possible than it just might be the greatest Lois Lane of all time. The hottest I've seen Amy Adams is in Night at the Museum 2 when she was in the skin tight pants which would make any straight man's dick hard since she has the perfect ass. I have had girlfriends with asses liked that and I fucked them hard and deep doggy style all knight long baby. I hope the camera man and wardrobe person is not gay on this one since if they don't take advantage of showing her perfect ass than they are stupid and don't care about this movie making money. Kate Bosworth was dressed in a fucking nun's outfit for Superman Returns. Fucking boner shrinker. Amy Adams will be great as long as she steps up the sex appeal. Since as we all know Lois Lane can very easily be a turn off depending on how she is portrayed.
-
... is, I'm sure, halfway right if memory serves. A good while back Snyder confirmed that Superman in action would be mostly CGI, with CGI augmentations to the actor in the suit. That was the first sign that we're probably fucked. The second was Sucker Punch. I'll defend Dawn Of The Dead as a good horror movie - fuck Romero's good-but-over-praised original. The subtext is so clumsy and blatant it's hardly subtext at all. It's a great, genre-defining movie and a deserved classic of its kind, but fuck me do I get sick of people hammering on about it. Snyder's remake gave us just as "plausible", if different take on a societal breakdown. It was pulled off better than anyone had any right to expect, and an ACTUAL remake, rather than half-baked retread or shot-for-shot rip-off. 300? Style over substance. Interesting style, maybe. Zero depth. A cartoon. It got old after half an hour. Watchmen - deeply flawed as it is, gives me a sliver of faith in Snyder... in that he understood the importance of the source material and the esteem in which it's held... but unfortunately his slavish devotion to every frame killed it dead as a movie. That, and the fact that the guy can do slick, ease up on the A.D.D. editing and slo-mo to an extent, but STILL not CREATE any REAL depth. And Sucker Punch? Cluster Fuck is more like it. Sucker Punch is what happens when a director with less skill than people thought is given free reign to do what he wants with nobody but yes-men carrying out his supposed "vision". See also, Star Wars Episodes I-III, history buffs.
-
I can see a few years difference in the leads' ages (I think Kidder was about 4 years older than Reeve) but ten? Consider if sequels are made about three years apart. I have no faith in Snyder's ability to bring a rounded, nuanced performance from his actors. His record is embarrassingly clear that he is blind to the needed emotional beats of his stories and fails miserably at capturing realistic dialog and the proper tone during more mature moments of conflict. Sadly, I feel Joe Johnson does the same with his films. It doesn't mean the films of either of these directors do not have their moments it is just that they can't seem to make a satisfying film come together in a complete manner like a great director can. They capture a sincere genre geek look in art direction for their efforts but direct on the level of traffic cops. So this casting news, despite Adams' obvious talents and charm, seems to add another misstep in the making of this film. My only hope is that Nolan is a very strong producer on this and exercises a lot of control in all phases of its making, say, like the way Hawks did over Nyby on the original production of THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD.
-
It makes sense for Batman to have a cape. His is practical because he is a real man using it like a glider. Why would Superman need one? The Entertainment Weekly article with Snyder referred to the suit as "dated". This is the first clue in my mind. My peeps at WB talked about how cool the Green Lantern suit is and it is there hopes to employ that technology. Superman never really flew in the comics originally....he jumped! My gut will be spot on.
-
Fuck she makes Amy Adams and Kate Bosworth look like pimple-face teenagers! She looks incredible in that teaser for that new tv show and she a way better actor than Adams and Bosworth! Too bad Hollywood have this preceived notion about film actress and their age.
-
I love reading the apoplectic outbursts about the fact Singer opted to NOT use the phrase "the American Way" in that little Super-motto. I've argued about it on here before - how the phrase just doesn't travel, and is sadly outmoded, as is a long-held esteem which the rest of the world used to hold America in. It's gone. Of course, I got my ass kicked up and down the talkbacks. Well, guess what, fact-fans: I was watching one of the Fleischer cartoons two nights ago. Opening narration? That would be about Superman fighting a never-ending battle for "TRUTH! AND JUSTICE!" No American way. Sorry. So if you wanna get all traditionalist... you'd actually be revisionist.
-
Erica Durance is sex on legs. Too bad she couldn't be Lois. This new talkback system still sucks, by the way. Wasn't this supposed to be a halfway house between the OLD site and a new, slick, uber-revamp? Guess that idea went away.
-
Amy is not old. She's only 36. That's how old Lois was in the comics, around her 30's. I think Amy is just right. Amy would nail the Lois role with no problem. She'll be able to be just as close as Margot Kidder.
-
And is a walking hard on. Next!

Hat in the perfect casting ring. An observation though. I've railed against haters and have had on going feuds with those i disagree with and after reading the TB's here for this post it just became clear instead of trying to counter, convince or deride a person's choice I shall pose a question. How do you please everyone? Seriously go back to the top and read every post. Everyone has some notion of what makes a good actress/actor/film maker. This ones shitty, she sucks she's beautiful and spunky, I don't know if she'd right for Lois etc etc. It all seems so silly and useless, not the offering of a critique but to Rail against with such certainty as to ones hotness or talent would indicate a lack of control or accomplishment in ones own life. It is an Actor's job to interpret the source material in films like this, not be everything to everyone. That's an impossible task! Get over your opinions carved from impervious stone. Peace.

I am feeling this will NOT BE 'Sucker Punch'.

My dream cast would be Jennifer Connelly as Lois, Jon Hamm as Clark/Superman, and Conan Stevens as Darkseid. Not sure how to make Darkseid work, but Stevens is bad-ass.
-
Amy Adams though well-known, seems rather chameleonic when it comes to parts. It'll all depend really on the material she's given to work with. Personally, I think they should try to do a character out of the Superman universe that isn't Zod or Lex Luthor. It seems that Zod was about the only non-Earth being that Superman ever really has gone up against in the films. Though if they are planning to really break from being associated with the older films, it really would help to have a new villain.
-
Look at Kim on Army Wives and retract that statement immediately, D. Vader.
-
Call me crazy but i think Ian McShane would be a great Zod. He's a bit older and can still do fight scenes!! Watch Hot Rod!!

She is hot but i dont think that she fits the role that well
by KilliK
anyway time will tell.
-
What the hell does that mean?
-
I assume.
-
man, you guys take things too seriously
-
This casting is as good as Harry is fat and ugly. So...it's very good. <p> Harry, you're fat and ugly
-
Grab any Superman comic done between '91 and 2003. Sure, she wasn't strawberry blonde, more like auburn, but still a redhead.
-
Boooo, what the hell is going on? Sucker punch sucks now this? Its scary, how many signs of the end of the world can we take...Alright maybe suckerPunch isnt the movie to conznyder for end times but still... no this is a joke right? "dare I say kinda hot"? You would have to be dared to say it sure, but no she isnt "hot" Im just saying for this , no Amy Adams no, terrible. Not good , no, bad, off pudding as George Carlin would say.Perfect casting? eeeYa and Johnny Depp was perfect for the mad hattren....gay. "And Hey! who stole the banana Guacamole?!" ;/
-
Shame another sexy ginger is going to be dying their hair, losing Emma Stone was rough. But if she goes for more than one movie I will say lets hope she keeps looking youthful as she ages. On another note finally watching Supes on blu right now... so very pretty
-
I have no doubts. I liked Dawn of Dead remake a lot more then I thought, 300 is in fact awful, WatchMan was ok, Haven't seen Sucker Punch but I sort of want to but mark my words this will be film we remember him by.

With the addition of Adams, will there be a musical number in this as well
by ZoeFan
Worked well for Sucker Punch
-
Evangeline Lilly seems to display the characteristics I look for in Lois. She's pretty but not gorgeously distractive. She looks tough but feminine. She has a natural beauty. Adams coming off a solid year seems to almost be a rather pedestrian choice and I'm sure is on the short list of many films being considered. I would have liked a more braver choice. Something that throws us a curve.
-
Please tell me that isn't true.
-
But from all the bad shit I've heard about Sucker Punch... I'm worried Snyder is going to fuck up Superman. Again, great with visuals, not so great with pulling together a great narrative. 300 was great, but both it and Watchmen were almost detrimentally faithful. He's more Tim Burton than Chris Nolan. I hope I'm wrong and he gets it together on this one.
-
I'M CHOPPING! LOOK AT ME, I'M CHOPPING!
-
Jesus it seams all studios have to do after they screw up a movie is market it as a reboot and they're good!
-
FUCK AICN sucks.
-
Just caught it on FX last week after not seeing it in years. I was surprised by how well it aged. It is a worthy "final chapter" to close out the Donner Superman universe. Oh, and Amy Adams is a good, if unexpected, choice.
-
If you're judging Amy Adams by Night at the Museum, then you're an idiot. See Junebug and tell me she can't act. She is an amazing actress. And she's downright naturally beautiful. Girl next door with chutzpah. Excellent casting. Amy Adams feels like a real person when she acts, not one of Snyder's usual female archetype cyphers. Though I'm surprised Snyder didn't go with his standby Carla Gugino, who by the way was hotter than all of the jailbait girls in Sucker Punch combined. Especially in the Love is the Drug credits sequence.
-
...on the go-to Hollywood shortlist, at the moment. She's super talented, and holds the screen any time she's on it. Nice that she's age appropriate for the role, too. Hope she kills it.
-
I wanna spoon with her feet.
-
PERSONALLY I WOULDA GONE FOR RACHEL MCADAMS, BUT DAMN THIS IS GOOD ENOUGH
-
...Amy Adams as Lois Lane is great casting. I know that she will do the part justice. She is smart, funny, beautiful, and can do both comedy and drama with the best of them. I am one happy Superman fan.
-
Like, season 1 or 2? I've never been a fan of hers - she has bags under her eyes that make her look like she had a rough life in her teenage years.
-
THAT will be interesting when Clark brings her home to dinner. Diane Lane and Teri Hatcher are hotter right now than Adams.
-
He always has
-
Now Nicole is getting a bit long in the tooth.
-
Cant a movie about Jesus be made right? Wheres Mel Gibson, Superman is just jesus set in the far far away future right? riiiight? So is the church hating jesus? lmao and said on to thee, up, up up and away LoL that kinda makes sense now that I think about it, SuperMan /Jesus in the far far away future would have to fly and have an s on his chest. Be powered by a sun, Come from a alien planet... The Catholic Church, we've made some changes, Gooo Science! ok ok, the cannabis will be put down. ;D
-
Is she supposed to be love interest in this? If she is, then yeah- she's too old for the part.
-
She's a great actress and also very easy on the eyes. She gave an excellent performance in "The Fighter" and really deserved an Oscar for "Junebug". And if you weren't thoroughly enchanted with her in "Enchanted", then you are cold as a stone. I just watched her recently in a 5th season episode of Buffy the vampire slayer, and you can tell she was going places just from that short gig. Kudos! This is the best casting news of the film so far. Now if only Viggo will sign on the dotted line...

Any actress can act sexy, fiesty, inquisitive. It's rare that an actress can...
by Larry Knowles
...act geniunely compassionate. Amy Adams can do compassion. I've never really cared for the character of Lois Lane becuase I never thought she was the type of person Superman would fall for. He would fall for some ambitious, driven, career oriented, type-A, self-centered woman. He would fall for a more humble, behind-the-scenes, compassionate woman. Amy Adams will bring that to the character. Good casting choice. Also, Harry, please call me. Sister Satan wants to know if you would like to celebrate Easter together this year. I miss you, bro. -Larry

Extreme prejudice baby, extreme prejudice! The final statement of COL. ZACK E. KURTZ - I've made crap... crap that you've seen. But you have no right to call me a hack. You have a right to kill me. You have a right to do that... but you have no right to judge me. It's impossible for words to describe what is necessary to those who do not know what filmmaking means. Filmmaking... filmmaking has a face... and you must make a friend of filmmaking. Filmmaking and excessive CGI are your friends. If they are not, then they are enemies to be feared. They are truly enemies! I remember when I was making Watchmen... seems a thousand centuries ago. We went into post-production to edit some footage. We left the editing room after we had edited the film, and the assistant editor came running after us and he was crying. He couldn't see. We went back to the editing room, and they had come and hacked off every frame of the alien squid. There they were in a pile. A pile of celluloid. And I remember... I... I... I cried, I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out; I didn't know what I wanted to do! And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it... I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought, my God... the genius of that! The genius! The will to do that! Perfect, genuine, complete, crystalline, pure. And then I realized the Studio Executives and Lawyers were stronger than we, because they could stand that these were not monsters, these were studio executives... trained lackeys. These men who lie through their teeth, who had summer homes, who had yachts, who were filled with greed... but they had the strength... the strength... to do that. If I had ten divisions of those yes-men, our troubles here would be over very quickly. You have to have studio men who are immoral... and at the same time who are able to utilize their primordial instincts to fuck with the source material without feeling... without passion... without logic... without judgment! Because it's judgment that defeats us.
-
Great, now we are going to have a Lois Lane that is annoying as all get out, red head and a nose growing towards her eyebrows. awesome
-
I worked closely with Kim and got a hug from her, and lemme tell you, she is still fine in person. Course, that was a few years ago. I have no idea how she looks currently.
-
My girlfriend watches that show. She looks hot on TV at least.
-
Right you do understand Nolan is working on Batman right? So why would he suddenly drop that to come in and and what co-direct Superman? Dumbest shit ever so just stop mentioning it. Also fans have no room to talk. Singer tried to make a personal Superman movie and you all trashed it. So now they went to someone who can make a visually stunning Superman with most likely, epic battle scenes. Now you want him gone? Make up your fucking mind and stop trolling constantly. If Nolan were directing the film would be closer to Superman Returns. So pick a stance and stop just trolling.

Amy Adams is a great choice for Lois. Awesome casting.
by Orbots Commander
Snyder's terrible Sucker-Punch aside, at least the cast for his Superman flick is shaping up to be pretty damn good. Now all we need is Viggo as the Big Bad, Zod, and my ticket to Superman is as good as purchased. The only hope is that Christopher Nolan is able to get some time away from his Dark Knight Rising directing duties to keep an eye on the Superman production, and to figuratively sit on Snyder. Snyder has a great visual style, but has an apparent tin ear for story.
-
And ANY of you sad little fuckers who claim to "like" it can go choke on a bag of dicks. Again.

-
And I'm not usually cynical towards casting choices this early into development, especially involving an Oscar nominee. She just doesn't really seem right for the role. She kind of grates on my nerves, and the fact that she's like 10 years older than Cavill strikes me as kind of odd. They're obviously going for a much younger Supes and a younger, hipper Ma and Pa Kent... so I expected a mid-20's Lois. Oh well, I'll reserve true judgement until we get some more tangible stuff to go by.

YESYESYES she was the best Lois Lane! Sassy, brassy, and sexy as HELL (that skirt...!).
-
really? Amy Adams is too ginger and too old? yeah. she looks decrepit. She's a damned good actress, she can pull off a spunky role and do it intelligently, and yes, you fucking fucktards, Lois SHOULD be older than Clark. Much better casting than Supes2008, where for Lois to have a kid that age by Superman she looks like she wouldve gotten knocked up at 14. Amy Adams is more woman than any of you sockfucking basement dwelling pimple factory bitchandmoaners could handle. that's probably a big factor in your bitching, being intimidated by an actress in the role who's not a CW Stick Insect.
-
Gees, everyone cast so far has some past connection to Superman in some way. Except for maybe the lead! Kevin Costner - Major Fan, doesn't he have the symbol tattooed on his shoulder? Amy Adams - didn't she play a fat chick turned skinny (via 'Meteor rock') in one of the VERY early episodes of Smallville? Bring on more casting. Perhaps Shaq can be cast as something? -_- If WB weren't 10 year cock teases during Smallville, we wouldn't need another fucking reboot!

still wondering about the Rotten Tomatoes synopsis...
by joseyandtheoutlaws
Do any of you know anything about the synopsis they have up on the RT site? Here's what they have posted: "Super powered Clark Kent has travelled the world for years as a journalist trying to find his place in the world. Arriving in Metropolis, he realises his place and potential as the world's greatest hero: Superman. An immediate hero, he soon comes across the path of Lex Luthor, a business mogul who owns almost all of Metropolis through corrupt and illegal methods with the help of crime syndicate Intergang. Their battle is soon disrupted by the dramatic appearance of an alien ship and Brainiac, a rogue alien super computer who has come in search of an all powerful crystal. He recognises Superman as the owner of the crystal revealing his origin as an alien and holds the world to ransom in exchange for the crystal. Superman must find the strength to defeat Brainiac by using the full extent of his powers, will and hope for humanity and discover his true origins to become the greatest hero of them all." Legit or pure speculation?

I know this is the kind of though that might be impossible for you to compreend there in the americas, but there's other parts in the world where Michael Bay is really despised, where barely anybody knows who the fuck Zack Snyder is and those who do think little of him and there's no religion and blind devotion of JJ Abrams at all. Still, she and Mardsen made Enchanted watchable. Also I'm glad Routh isn't supes again. The guy is killing it in every other role I've seen him (granted, his body of work I've seen consist of some Chuck episodes, Scott Pilgrim and the Dylan Dog trailer.) I don't want to lose him to the role, like we've lost Hammil to Luke Skywalker.
-
...but I wasn't sure if there was a precedent for Rotten Tomatoes posting these kinds of outlines without a basis in a real script. As for the casting so far, I think Adams will do a great job as Lois. She certainly isn't the first name that would come to mind for the role, but she's a real talent who will know how to handle the material. As a lot of others have voiced, my concerns over casting are dwarfed by my concerns over the directing (and, to a lessen extent, writing) on this one. Superman is a tough character to do well on screen--I mean, he's a stereotype of all things good and true (and basically invulnerable)...when was the last time you saw that type of character made interesting in a motion picture? In fact, in any storytelling, that kind of character limits most of what makes up a good tale. I have huge reservations about Snyder's ability to helm a project that is supposed to breathe fresh life into this franchise.

Snyder Will Do Fine, Just With A Tight "Leash"
by DeadBeat_Dads_Are_Super_Man
WB saw what a mistake it was to let a director do whatever he pleased the last time. Wasting $230 million dollars on an emo, whiny, stalking, deadbeat dad WON'T happen again. He'll be able to do what he pleases visually, sans when it comes to the costume. Everything else will be "monitored".
-
...isn't this a lot less interesting?

I suspect ths new SUEPRMAN movie will be a good movie DESPISTE the direction.
by AsimovLives
When the movie finally cames out, everything about the movie will be preaise, except all things mostly to do with direction. And of the things done really right, the praises will go to Nolan. Rightly so. "Nice movie. Too bad Snyder directed it". "The movie is nice. If only Snyder hadn't directed it, it would had been so much better". "Nice movie. Shame about the director." But then again, i could be wriong. This is the times when movies no longer need proper directors to be hilaed and loved. This is the times when a fake fraud pseudo-director like JJ Abrams can make a bad parody/travestry of a movie and still get love and recognition, so there's good chances for Snyder.
-
The only way to do Sueprman right is to try to do soemthign that Singer tried but didn't went full on: to have his vulnerabilities came more form within. mostly, to play up his naivité and how easily he can be manipulated by that. Like, say, that because he's an alien, he can't understand humankind's duplicity and complexity of motivations. To always make Superman befuddled and still keep on trying. Also, to put speed limits to his powers.

bma2192, movies are no longer "just" movies precisely because of that reason you said. Becasue they costy millions and employ dozens of different firms, and hundreds of people, if not thousands.
by AsimovLives
All this talk about "it's just a movie". No, not on this magnitude, a movie is not "just" a movie. It's big business, it's a big thing, and as such, it is important, not just to us who love them but to those who make them and to whom it's their bread and butter. When even the low budget movies cost like 5 to 30 million dollars to make, there's nothing small and "it's just a movie" to movies. When even a small budget movie costs so much money to make, there's no "it's just a" about movies at all.

Reading his bullshit. Thanks a lot, shithead.

I've always wondered why Lois was constantly being played like a selfish bitch. You can't tell me the most selfless hero in the world would go for that. My vision of Lois would be like this: shes walking down the street and someone asks her for money because hes starving. Lois responds by handing him her business card and telling him to go over to the 85th street shelter, where she knows they need somone to help out. She knows this because of a story she just did on them. He thanks her and heads over. That would demonstrate her kindness and her own "Power Of The Press". She can show toughness and still not take any crap, but when she sees someone genuinely in need she wants to help. I know women like this and they are awesome!
-
This is one piece of casting news that I can get behind. Sure there are most likely several other good actresses to pick from (or are the called actors now) who could do a good turn as Lois Lane, but she's really good, and will hopefully deliver a solid performance. Far better than the disposible/lackluster (insert name here) superhero heorines that we've seen as of late, and YES I DO include Gweneth Paltrow in that list. Casting her, is the kind of casting that can oftern set the tone for a movie/film. She has a way to go before the entire tone of large movies can be signifigantly swayed by her casting but she's well on her way to being someone that can do that. If you haven't seen her in 2005's "Junebug" then I suggest you give that a look-see and see what she is capable of.
-
a scene similar to the one she did in Junebug. Yeah, that's right. I'm talking about that scene.

Could be worse, could've been Rachel McAdams...
by HarryKnowlesNonExistentInceptionReview
...Who would've started crying the first time a Luthor-bot nabbed her. Amy's got personality and spunk, like the classic Lois Lane. But... unless you wanna be Lana Lang, dye that hair brunette!
-
--she really is talented, but does the casting director know who Lois Lane is and what she looks like? Just because an actor is uber talented, doesnt mean that they're right for the role... if they based casting on talent alone, they could cast Tom Hanks as Superman... hes got an Academy Award. They could cast Jamie Foxx as Lois...HEY, he won an Academy Award for playing RAY CHARLES!! --and I know for a fact that Jamie isn't blind! He could pull it off... plus he's played female characters before. Case closed! I guess I could continue listing people in my moronic rant, but you get the idea-- in that short list of candidates, I thought Rachel McAdams was a really good choice to go with... I think shes around 33... good actor... would embody the character well.. looks the part-- but thats just me. When I have a billion dollars, I'll make my own movie my own way. Till then, I'll just cross my fingers and hope they do a good job-- its hard to see ANY of these people as their assigned characters with Smallville STILL on the air, and my secret desire to see THAT cast take the Superman story to the bigger screen eventually... fans have only invested 10 years of their watching habits to support that program-- I dont see any reason to give any of us what we actually want.
-
...Keeps one of his Oxfords firmly in place on the back of Hack Snyder's neck during the entire production!
-
that it wasn't Singer's desire to reveal the humanity of Superman that undercut him from achieving more success with Superman Returns. I think some of the most powerful images from Donner's first Superman were the very things that reminded everyone that although he's an alien being with almost limitless powers, Superman has some of the same feelings and emotional "weaknesses" that we all have (ie. his grief and powerless in the face of the death of Pa Kent, the "foolishness" of falling in love, and the pitfalls of any attachments or trusts in fallible human beings). Singer tried to expand on these things, and I think he found varying degrees of success at making Superman resonate as a super being with "genuine" human conflicts. I think Snyder needs to play up the "alien-ness" and transcendence of this character to begin (almost like letting us see with new eyes and new awe this character we all know so well), which can then give renewed significance and gravity to the human characteristics and frailties that emerge in juxtaposition.

Great casting. Doubt the movie will live up to her talents.
by cylon_conspiracy
She is one cutie. Even after seeing her all plane jane in The Fighter, that really didn't make her any less attractive. I think her personality is great for Lois Lane, and this gives me hope that perhaps the new version of Supes won't be too gritty and... uh... "realistic" (lame), but I have my doubts. Superman is supposed to be a shiny happy technicolor PG-rated adventure and anything darker than that is just going to suck.
-
I think your dead right about Lohan as Catwoman. Perfect. I also think the Studio lawyers would be scared of her being a liability. I have always had a soft spot for Courtney Love but from what I've heard every time she worked on a picture they had to have some type of crazy insurance policy and contracts with her. Look these girls are liabilities. Let me make it more clear. HOLLYWOOD ACTRESSES ARE LIKE LOADED FIREARMS. They could go off at anytime. FACT! Treat them as such.
-
If they had kept the story a mystery in the ads, then everyone would go, wanting to see what all the crazy geek imagery was about. Instead, its sold as a crazy fantasy in the head of a girl in an insane asylum and most people went "meh". Also shows that geek culture does not the win box office. Also shows that geeks can make movies catered to geeks with geek imagery and there's no guarantee geeks will flock to it.

97-02 was great. I'd say even a few years after were good. Harry had a lot more respect- from the industry, from his readers, the talkbackers. But since that time, the respect levels have nose-dived. I mean, you've got Merrick questioning why AICN wasn't notified that a movie had started production. "For some reason, AICN didn't actually receive said start-of-production notice..." Really? Its not that hard to figure out...

Very attractive in The Fighter... and I'm not usually into pale red-heads. Solid actress to boot... Hope the rest of the casting is as good as her.
-
spunky, sexy, but real. And not a goddamn twenty year old.
-
Did you see her ass in "Night at the Museum 2"? Holy shit, it is glorious.
-
His involvement with this picture is essentially over. Goyer had an idea that Nolan liked, and basically all he did was help Goyer develop it and put his name on it to help push the idea to the studio. He's basically said his focus is on his next film (Batman) and that Supes is Snyder's project now, and he's not really going to have anything to do with it.
-
Really, after SUCKER PUNCH you shouldn't be directing SUPERMAN anyway.
-
"there's no religion and blind devotion of JJ Abrams at all." I have not once seen him refer to Abrams as JJ...fucking impostor city...Asi died after seeing someone refer to Mission Impossible 3 as the best in the series one too many times and now we have a bullshit clone...and I'm ok with it
-
Thank goodness, I was worried I'd actually be tempted to watch a flick with Kristen Stewart in it, now with Viggo gone so is all my interest in that flick.

Robin Williams for Perry White, Jesse Eisenberg for Jimmy Olsen!
by brocknroll
-
I doubt Sly would get the Perry White role, but that would be awesome. I mean, Sly did audition for "Superman" role at one time. Why not have him as Perry White now? Perry White is perfect for Sly's age.
-
This is fantastic casting. One of the best surprises I've heard in years. She wasn't on my list, she's better than anyone on my list. The prospect of a sexy, streetwise Lois Lane portrayed by a A-List working actress (as in, not a movie star) is the best thing I've heard all day. You fools are so freaking spoiled since Christian Bale. You're like modern politicians - no compromising, no other options, your way 100% or you go into attack mode. Grow up. It reminded me of Ninja Gaiden with chicks and child porn all rolled into one....... However I could see a epic superman movie With those kind of effects. To bad the story will be shit.
-
But fuck this movie. They couldn't even cast a someone that looked like Lois Lane. Is it that hard to find a good looking brunette with brown eyes in Hollywood? Zach Snyder is all style and no substance, and I'm fucking pissed that I can't get excited about a new Superman movie. Every new tidbit just gets me less and less excited, and I love Superman!
-
He was already in part 2, so why the fuck do we need to see him again? Superman has lots of other enemies the movies haven't even touched yet. Is Hollywood too pansy ass to actually branch out and try something new?
-
Amy Adams is a great actress, but not for Lois. Evangeline Lilly would be amazing as Supes girl.
-
"They couldn't even cast a someone that looked like Lois Lane." - If you've been paying attention, Zack have said plenty of times in interviews that this is going to be a different Superman movie. He wants this film to be like no other Superman movie. She doesn't need to look like Lois Lane in the comics or the other movies. Zack wanted the characters to be realistic and normal looking. Lois doesn't need to be a hot and sexy brunette. Amy is hot herself, the way she is. Everyone thinks Amy will be a redhead in the Superman movie, but they can dye her brunette just for the movie alone.
-
Meant to say "dye her hair brunette", left out a word, my bad.
-
Snyder's worked with her before and she didn't get enough credit for elevating Dawn of the Dead with her smarts and credibility as a performer. Plus she's spunky as hell and cute. And yes, Erica Durance is the best Lois so far. Too bad she's stuck in so many corny plot lines on Smallville.
-
Even though she's not naturally a red head, so I'm sure a dye job to brunette would be equally convincing. Not that I'm such a nitpick I actually give a shit about the hair color, just saying...

by Dr. Egon Spengler
Very few actors/actresses are brilliant. And Amy Adams ain't one of em.
-
This movie is looking bad so far. I like Amy Adams but no as Lois lane. But she cannot be as bad as bosworth though.
-
braindrain eats dog shit and wears a helmet.
-
I like her. Hope this will work. Erica (swoon)... Durance is a tough act to follow though...
-
good actress. but not the kind of screen presence that this character needs. and by the time a sequel gets(if) done she'll be like 40 or 40+.
-
braindrain wears diapers.
-
Adams may be 6 yrs older then Kidder when she first played Lane... but Kidder looked like a 50 yr old crack whore.
-
As she has played every character beautifully in every movie I have seen her in, I think she will make a great Lois Lane and she coulda been a great Lana Lang. In choosing her for Lois, I get some satisfaction with Snyders potential direction. The words "dynamic" and "energy" come to mind since seeing Amy's name tossed into the hat. BTW, she was in Smallville once too. So she has some experience :)
-

I get tired of having to sift through all the above postings and accusations about talkbacker's real identity. Grow up, ya'll. Don't try to hide behind a veil of internet anonimity - be yourselves and be proud. Like me...Larry Knowles. Also, Harry, my letters keep getting returned. I sent you an invitation to an Easter get-together that Dad, Dannie and I are having on April 24. If you come, I promise that I won't try to talk to you or Yoko...I would just really like to see you.
-
And don't come back, you simple-minded fuckwit. Go tell Mommy that you are being "bullied" on the internets......
-
I thought she was a horrible choice to play Lois, what were they thinking?...I think Tori Black would be perfect for Lois Lane...google her

Oh, and I don't come in here and whine about someone somewhere in internet-land posting information about ME. Grow some nuts, dink. And as long as there are retarded pieces of shit like you and asimovlives around, pimping your "love" for Singerman, my screen-name will ALWAYS be "IN". Now run along, little boy. -
...don't let Snyder litter this movie with weak-ass, generic songs that have been used to death in a million other movies. See Watchmen.<p> I want a straight orchestral score for my Superman films.

Also please don't have him insert a montage played over with some sappy band who's name is be tangentially related to the movie. See Owl City sequence in that CGI owl movie.

I can't even bring myself to rent Superman Returns for a second viewing. <p> Only the Matrix Reloaded was as disappointing a sequel in my book.
-
I'm just not feeling the vibe here. Kevin Costner and Diane Lane? Amy Adams? Some skinny British guy as Superman? They aren't exactly going retro with it and yet it doesn't appear to be a completely modern take on the legend. Watch this thing draw fewer people than "Returns" (which I loved).
-
Green Hornet made $227 million worldwide ...and of course than's not counting DVD, etc. It looks like a shitty film but it far from "bombed"
-
While I have appreciated Amy Adams and the roles she's played in the past...nothing she's done comes close to the Lois Lane Character...Amy's too 'Girl Next Door' but then again she might hit it out of the park.
-
Don't you people ever learn? The studios make these movies to generate $$$$$$$$....no other reason. They don't care if you think it's good or not if you still pay to see it. Superman Returns made $391 million worldwide. This one will do about as well if they make a good trailer and they will do that. So you retards can bash a bad Superman film all you want but the studio execs are still going to be doing coke off of whores' asses and laughing at you the whole time...sorry but that's the reality that you don't seem to want to accept.

-
...because psycho beach party moves to the number one spot in my movie rental queue if so.<p> And frankly I prefer a woman be cast as Lois Lane. Not a girl. Just as I would like someone over the age of 40 to play Supes preferably. Someone who looks a little world-weary and hard... not some pampered, pretty-boy youth who's never worked a day in his life. Nor looks like he's ever shaved a day in his life...other than his chest.
-
So this retarded douche-nozzle "loves" Singerman, is commenting on a Superman-related TalkBack, is doing a piss-poor job of insulting the director of the much needed reboot, and has NEVER heard of "Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen"??? Fuck man. When your whore of a mother dropped you on your head, did she stomp on it too?
-
Amy Adams is definitely a MILF, but she's way too old to be playing Lois Lane. AA is almost ten years older than Henry Cavill, too. By the time the sequel comes around she'll be almost 45. This is ridiculous casting. On the other hand, I can imagine a really funny scene where Clark Kent asks Lois Lane to remove her dentures and give him a gummer. That's worth $10.

Seriously? I'm not supposed to want to fuck ma Kent, or punch Lois Lane in the face. I've hated Amy Adams ever since she was the fat girl on Smallville that tried to eat Pete. Rachel Mcadams is a much better choice...You continue to fail, Snyder, and, while I'd hoped Nolan would be a positive influence on you, I'm afraid your shittiness is rubbing off on him, as I'm beginning to question some choices he's made in regards to the Dark Knight Rises. I can only hope your balls explode in time to get you pulled from this project before it permanently damages my idea of Superman

honestly, at this point there is no such thing as cool Superman news. After Sucker Punch we've all sobered up to a realization, similar to giving Frank Miller the reigns to something. We've realized that the person we mistook for an artist, was actually a 13 year old kid with ADD trapped in a mans body. I now fear for Superman, and what a shallow experience it will be, devoid of adult experience.
-
Snyder already filled it with nominees and winners-Kevin Costner is an Oscar winner and multiple nominee, and if Diane Lane hasn't won yet, I'm quite sure she's been nominated. Still won't keep out the coming shutstorm that is this movie though

The Reason why Superman will be the last movie most people will see.
by TheNipplesofGodReturns
So I saw SukerPunch tonight....... and I have to say it was Child Porn(note to Mr Snyder Child porn and Superman is bad) stupid story, And It looked like a video game. To tell you the truth that's not what scared me... it was more all the trailers for all the movies coming up is Humans.. overcoming great odds, or aliens, or some miraculous hero that comes and saves us.... When in reality if someone launches nukes! there's gonna melt are brains , and are bodies will fly apart like paper("I'm not saying that's whats gonna happen .)That's just a example.. So to the point! I think Donald Trump Or possibly Gary Busey .... Probably Donald Trump... Is the Antichrist... And I think he is paying off Hollywood to make all these stories of Love and Hope Because they now that when something happens We will most probably be Dead real quick Basically "Momma say's Hollywood's the DEVIL!" or more accurate, the TOOL.. of the DEVIL ...... He Manufactors these movies of hope to give us hope, when in reality were dead!! The Elite of "PEOPLE" or the rich bitches in Hollywood! The directors, the actors, the Studio heads Definitely Will Smith and His kids Rich people from around the world have passes to some sort of underground strong hold For the day!!12, 22, 12... The Day they picked to put One of thee greatest Hero's That are imagination can dream up "Superman"on screen. On that day something will happen. I'm not sure what will ..... Just be warned Hollywood Is The TOOL OF DONALD TRUMP! You will flock to the theaters like sheep to See the Movie that will be hailed as "THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER TO BE CONCEIVED, DRAWN UP, PRODUCE, SHOT, DIRECTED, Acted, GREATEST SPECIAL EFFECTS TO EVER BE PUT ON FILM..........SUPERMAN!!!!!!!!" Harry will fall asleep through it but won't be alive at the end to care..... NONE of us will FOR just at the moment in the film when Clark Kent not yet Superman , Has been beaten down and all the people around him don't trust him The part wear he is at his most humble and his lowest and realizes That he must become Superman to save everyone BOOM!! your dead. What ever is GONNA happen will happen and that will be it. I like to think that the Rich People.... The "ELITE" ..... Will survive To Face A new Night Mare!!!The War Against the Gary Busey Clones! YOU WERE WARNED

I would agree, but for one thing. I stood by Ledger as Joker when the Natsayers didn't because he had Christopher goddamn Nolan directing him. I present to you Zach Snyder-master of the slow mo front kick that seems to be his trademark and...nothing else. Snyder could clone Chrostipher reeves and put him in the movie and STILL fuck it up because he's the new "Boom Boom" Bay-all slow mo front kicks and no substance
-
Its a role in a movie , Im not asking her to compete in a mixed martial arts tournament
-
I have a 7 year old daughter so I've seen it many times. Adams is adorable and is the whole cast nails it. Dempsey plays a great straight man too.
-
if I was a guessing man I'd say it's cuz she's nearly a full decade older than Cavill aka superBOY. If by some miracle this doesn't suck, the franchise potential will be limited. Say it takes three years to make a film, the signs of aging grow more dramatic as one gets older-so in a possible trilogy, shell be 43 and look it, while Cavill will be 34 and still look 28. I don't mind the age, it's the look-she doesn't LOOK like Lois Lane.
-
Lol. I like the sound of that.<p> What's the over/under that we'll see Supes pull off a bitchin' slow mo front kick?

As others have said physically not a great fit for Lois, but has the right attitude and great actress. Will the attempt to make her look more like Lois, be a distraction or will she pull it of
-
In particular Massa's sounds like what would happen if someone gave Harry some money to make a movie, i.e. giving a 13 year old boy this money and see what happens. Though Harry would make sure it was a hard R rated movie, to ensure that he could include some "Artistic" scenes similar to Serbian Film.

inkingeekx, she's going to have you eating out of the palm of her hand 10 minutes in.
by DoctorWho?
They'll get the look down (hair color, etc)...her acting will evaporate any doubt you have. She's got the 'fire' a good Lois needs. <p> The really good actors redefine or image of what the character should be. I never envisioned a Joker like Heath's. Now it's the definitive one. For me anyway.
-
Maybe he wants a "woman" who has the body of a pre-pubescent 12 yr old boy with a six head like Bosworth? *shudder*
-
I don't discredit her acting prowess-she's a very fine actress. That said, I don't find her particularly attractive. Something is amiss when I'd rather bang Ma Kent than Lois Lane is all I'm saying lol. Also, I find that when you take an actor and try to change their look to fit an established visual character, it pulls me out if the film a bit, I'm too busy noticing the dye job. Ledger didn't have this problem because if the makeup-it didn't matter. Brandon Routh and his blue contacts really threw me for a loop though.
-
That was funny-bosworth's hairline not withstanding-she captured the essence well-and was closer in age to Routh at least. I'm not doubting her acting-as I posted already-I just don't find her attractive. Admittedly I have a weird taste in women(always had a thing for Claire Danes and Bea Arthur)but I reiterate-I shouldn't want to bang ma Kent more than Loid
-
Thought Adams was preggers, though?
-
Since when is Lois Lane a spoiled, slutty little bitch who puts her career over her bastard kid? Amy Adams is beautiful. She may not "do it" for you, but don't go blaming it on AGE. Here's a clue: Brad Pitt WASN'T born an elderly gent.
-
I found it t be pretty reminiscent to Terry Gilliam's BRAZIL, in many ways. Which was GOOD. Watching Sucker Punch me gave me high hopes for Zac Snyder's Superman: Man of Steel... ESPECIALLY the type of action we can expect from it. Can't WAIT! :) Ignore the snob reviews and see Sucker Punch for yourself... you'll enjoy it.
-
Freaky Deaky!<p> I'm totally down with banging Ma Kent though.<p> LOL Damn, I never thought I would EVER type those words.<p> Bea Arthur LOL. I like how you roll.
-
Why so hostile? The whole kid thing was a horrible idea so I try to discount that-but Lois lane is not helpless, she always fights to get her story and, yes, she's ambitious. Also-my lack of attraction to Amy Adams isn't because of her age-I just think she looks weird, I also think the same about Anne Hathaway. My lack of attraction to character isn't a deal breaker-ultimately the deal breaker is going to vd that Snyder WILL fuck this up somehow. I hope I'm wrong-the actors are all good, even if I disagree-but I disagree about a lot of things, that hardly makes me right or an expert. Superman is my favorite comic hero and all I want is one goddamn serious live action take on the character before I die. Is that too much to hope for?

Neither does the woman he loves, who gives him a connection to the human ants he's so superior to-thus keeping him grounded in his hero duties. It took me a minute to get that one. Haha, yup. Singer turned Superman into a mopey, date-rapist, stalker-type absentee father. And thanks for starting the first new Superman movie in twenty years with an interior scene showing Lex Luthor with old lady vag on his breath.

HarryKnowlessoldout: Uh, most Superman fans give a fuck about Lois Lane
by kiwicanuck
This isn't exactly horrible casting, and while I have nothing against her age or looks (she certainly doesn't look anywhere near 40 if she is, and she's quite pretty), she's got an indefinable something about her that bugs me, which really dampens her sex appeal and detracts from everything I've seen her in. And yeah, seeing this is one of the central relationships in Superman's life (and THE relationship if his adult life), and therefore a fundamental component of this and every other sequel moving forward, I give a fuck about how they handle the character as it's as bound to effect the final film as anything else. If this isn't worth getting right, what the hell is??? Oh right, the shade of red of his cape. And by the way, 100 times as many people on the planet know who Lois Lane is, but don't have a clue who Darkseid is, let alone give a fuck about him. One more thing: no one knows who Amy Adams is? She's one of the most in-demand actresses on the planet right now and was in one of last year's biggest critical and sleeper hits. But if you're that out of the loop I wouldn't be surprised if you had to IMDB Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg.
-
you took the words out of my mouth. There is a certain indefinable thing about here that doesn't sit right with me-many people will try to interpret what I said as me thinking she's UGLY, which she's not, she's just not attractive to me
-
INT, MIDNIGHT, A STORM FLASHES OUTSIDE LEX has just been eating a RICH OLD WIDOW's pussy.
-
Complain complain complain just fucking complain. Adams is more then fine as Lois. As for her age, when did 36 become old? She is the right age for Lois. A world renown reporter isn't gonna be some 23 year old pop tart.

WB just baffles me. Routh and Adams are around the same age but yet they cast a 10 year younger Supes?
by The Founder
I'm still pissed about Routh. The guy was good as Supes. Singer's direction was the problem. Bosworth was terrible as Lois. WB finally cast a good Lois and they screw with the Supes casting. 10 years is a bit far in age, especially with sequels but hey this will probably be the last Supes film we see in our lifetime. Unless WB moves the guy forward and reinvent himI don't see this earning much more then SR.
-
I'm mixed on Superman Returns - I think I may even like it more than most - but COULD NOT BELIEVE THEY CAST KATE BOSWORTH. She's supposed to be a tough as nails reporter, who's been in the biz for years. Bosworth looked like she was too young to work for a high school newspaper... and not in control of the English language enough to string even five words together. And she seemed more like that kid's younger sister than his mom. Of all of Singer's follies on Superman Returns, her casting was far and away his worst idea.
-
Oscar nominated three times. Good at playing smart, tough, and vulnerable. And gorgeous. Great casting there. Snyder's already ahead of Singer.

She has all the right qualities Clark would be attracted to...
by DoctorWho?
Brains. Spirit. Kindness. Strength...she won't take any shit. Attractive. And a wholesome quality which Clark would definitely be attracted to. <p> This wholesome quality is probably what some of you reprobates find so off putting. I don't doubt some of you would prefer Megan (look at my crotch) Fox in the roll.

All being fooled by Clamour photshopped pictures, she's old!
by CeejayNightwing
Check out "http://www.thewallpapers.org/photo/39623/Amy-Adams-012.jpg" or "http://www.celebritiesi.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/amy-adams.jpg" And remember that High Definition exposes old age and make-up very badly so you'll be very distracted watching the blu ray unless they CGI her wrinkles in every movie. She'll be approaching 40 years old by the time they start filming the 2nd flick!! Just choose a younger more genuinely brunette actress and save all the hassle.
-
And she's a real WOMAN, not some little girl playing dress-up like Bosworth was.
-
I think she'll be a fine Lois, her age doesn't bother me, the age difference is strange. I simply said I don't find her attractive. Ultimately Snyder will be the downfall of this film-he's just not deep enough. It's also strange that Lois is almost as old as ma Kent-but fuck it-Angelina Jolie was Colin Farell's mother and she's younger than him haha
-
but don't mind this

Some people don't look their age.<p> I don't know how old Bosworth was but she looked under 21. Didn't buy it. <p> My wife is 44 and she looks like she's 30. by thecomedian
She always gets me with that speech in Talladega Nights. Every time. She'll be great.
-
And someone mentioned LL as a redhead at times in comic book.
-
then again, anyone not named Rashida Jones would have sounded like horrible casting to me. she obviously was the best choice, but god forbid having the best choice ever get offered a part. hollywood fucking SUCKS.
-
Ha ha you just know the director/producer does not have a clue casting someone 10 years older than Superman! With Brandon Routh she would be closer in age this project gets worse with all the stunt casting. Costner is too young for his dad. Lane is too hot for his mum & Adams is too old for his love interest! Apart from them not having a clue I wonder what else they can screw up!! This really will not be a popular movie the director is out of his depth (straight to DVD market or oversees martial arts only market surely).
-
Superman is supposed to be ICONIC but instead we get a 6ft actor who's thinning, Chris was 6ft 4 with the classic hair look (although dyed). Next we have Supes step mum who looks younger than Margot Kidder and Costner who you bet will be allowed to 'indulge' himself. Now we have a classic Lana Lang but she's going to be Lois????? After seeing Suckerpunch I really have to worry if Superman will have any real content, I'm sure it will look great but even then I'm worried that Zach with OD on the CGI, Superman MUST be recognisable as being on Earth, if its taken to some weird alien planet then part of me is going to hate it. What was part of the kick of Superman was seeing this god amongst men dealing with normal people in a city, the wow factor for the people was seen in the film, these people were in awe of this being, that was one of the gems from Donner...You did believe a man could fly. And after hearing Zachs comments about 'knocking the film out' it just made me wonder how really into this film he is, is he aware that he's got a huge mass of fans of Superman depending on him to deliver the goods, this isn't just another film, this is Superman, he's an icon and it should be made in honour of Chris.
-
I really don't know what the problem is with a redhead playing Lois Lane. Some of you lot are obsessed with it! So what if a comic has a certain hair colour? For all we know, it was a colourist's mistake in the first place. What matters is the overall look and the overall ability. She's Oscar nominated. She does roles that are extremely varied. She can do hard-nosed when she wants to and rom-com when she wants to. Yes, I'm an Amy Adams fan but when I heard the casting I couldn't _make_ myself feel surprised - it was so obvious! As for the age difference? This could even be made a plot point in a sequel - he doesn't age, she does... Would be a poignant reminder of how other-worldly Superman is.
-
Who do we reckon for Perry White? Know who I'd love to see do it? Gene Hackman. If they need lower budget? Harris Yulin. Don't see enough of him. And if you want someone really left field? Brian Dennehy. That'd be sweet.

Angeline or Zooey would've made better choices.
by HollywoodHellraiser
And both better actors than Adams and of course wouldn't have to wear wigs or dye their hair. I don't see how anyone can call this perfect casting because no casting is perfect. However ypu do try to cast close as possible. Its clear they weren't even trying.
-
Make it happen Snyder!
-
Yes, of course 36 is too old. Women should be ejected from films at 14 because paedophilia is just the right thing for half the weird cunts on this board. Get back to staring at the kids next door to your Mom's house you weird fucks. 36 is about right for any reporter working today, in fact check most newspapers and you'll find no-one really builds a career there until their 40s. You think we should have a 21 year old out of college playing a hard-bitten reporter? Really? Look, I don't particularly care who plays Lois Lane in a fucking Snyder film to be honest - but get a grip with needing every girl to be fired at 30 or playing people's grandmothers... And what's with the Angelina Jolie comments? She's like 6 months younger than Adams. Yes, she's hotter when she remembers to eat the occasional sandwich, but I wouldn't fire her for her age next year. Maybe she would have been better as Lois Lane - not sure I'd still care that much, but stop with your weird pedo cravings for jailbait.
-
mostly because of the lois lane character. Man, she's just always around isn't she? no matter the plot, there she is, seemingly more invincible then superman, impervious to danger. just fuck off, will ya
-
How perfect would be she be?
-
I know this happens in almost every talkback about an actress, but what world are you people living in where she isn't that good looking? I mean, I really want to know so I can move to the place you live in and hang around all these women. I don't want them to go the Margot Kidder route, where they seemed to cast based on attitude over looks (not that she was awful), but must we really insist that every comic book character actress is the hottest, most gorgeous person you've ever seen? And Amy, now that I've learned you're within months of my own age, I'm available. Maybe you're married or engaged or whatever, but I don't mind.

by BringingSexyBack
could withstand that much rocking. I'm happy with Adams. She's talented and versatile, and has a compelling screen presence. Another stellar move by the modern master, Zack Snyder.
-
I was never a king of anything, so there's no throne to dehrone me from.
-
Although, it seems like they always find an actress that doesn't exactly fit the description and dye her hair for a superhero film. They made Kirsten Dunst a redhead, Bryce Dallas Howard a blonde (inexplicably). Kate Bosworth with black hair. Now Snyder wants to change Amy Adams' beautiful red hair. Just bugs me a bit. Seems like for those iconic roles they could find a natural.
-
As long as the acting is better than Bryan Singer's "Superman Returns" - nothing against his film, but the acting in it... yikes! - then I'm on board. Let's just see less drama, more story and more kick-ass, Zack Snyder action. And please, if you have to do origin bs, do it in a montage, or at least ala "Dawn of the Dead". We get it. Now, Supe, save our sorry asses.

Bosworth was 22 and was already suppose to be a world-weary reporter and given birth at 16. She was ridiculously too young for the part. Adams doesn't even look 36, but at least she's more credible given Lane's career.
-
Will always be the best Lois Lane. They should have brought back the Hatch for this one.

Too bad this isn't a period piece, set in the mid '50s, where
by openthepodbaydoorshal
the Daily Planet would be run like The Front Page (think Hudsucker Proxy in design). As Amy Adams proved in Smithsonian 2, the only bright spot of that sequel, she can do rat-tat-tat delivery of "period" dialogue brilliantly.
-
I like Amy Adams I think she'll do great. But Zooey Deschanel would've be absolutely perfect as Lois Lane.
-
Hatcher was fine, but couldn't have carried the big screen at this stage in her career. Margot Kidder was the definitive, by virtue of being first. Bosworth was fine, but would have given birth to Supe's son at 16, so that just seems WRONG. Adams does put-down-with-a-smile so well (see Leap Year and Julie/Julia).
-
Even though Sucker Punch sucked as I suspected, I don't doubt that Superman will LOOK great. The story should be great because it was created by Goyer and Nolan. Yes Sucker Punch sucked but remember that was Snyder writing the script. He didn't write the story for Superman. Though I don't know why they have him fighting Zod again. It really should be Brainiac.

frank cotton here, yeah, that's right, i'm still here, and still running my mouth. from the top - frank cotton, here, with a SPECIAL REPORT on the the lousiness, if that is, indeed, a word, of his, that being, and meaning, my, personal, and actual, 50th birthday. IT SUCKED! first off, i had to work; can't miss a friday, what with gas, and the world, and all that. no big deal. i need the money, right? so, it's friday, my bday, and MOMS, of course, SHE can be counted on, i'm her son, right? she, like, gives me a card and fifty bucks. absolutely perfect. couldn't ask for more, but, yet, get this...she's hangin' out at boyfriends house tonight, so frank's got the house to himself! rock on, motherfuckers! right? yeah. so, it started out like this, great, like, for the first five minutes. or so. and, well, yeah, it kinda kept goin' ok for a while; i stopped by BORDERS(?), got a cup of coffee, and went on in to work. to do my CORPORATE DUTY. as it were. day goes by, turns into night, and , eventually, frank gets off work. so. what's the big deal? how, is that, so bad? i, will tell you, momentarily. wow. sorry about the dead air (i do this LIVE, as in, i type it up as soon as it happens, if i can, if i'm near a keyboard). let me explain: it is now, 8:32 in the AM, YOUR time (remember, it's ALWAYS midnite, here, at the station), monday, march 28th. i have just returned from taking a leak. and, lo, and, behold, what do i see when i get to the bathroom? it's FUCKING SNOWING! seriously, no shit. back to the program. the big deal. not one call, not one gift, not one anything from anyone. nothing. all day. my own 'brother', who should be taking me out to a strip club for drinks, AND, at the very LEAST, one lousy lap dance, WHERE THE FUCK IS HE? he didn't even call. no voice mail. nothing. frank WOULD have taken himself out to yon' strip club, but, alas, his tax return has been snagged by the court/so-called justice system/restitution that frank actually owes to the feds, for that whole misunderstanding at the bank, thing. so. no cash. bummer. look. i said to, not make a big deal of it, NOT, to, mind, ignore it, ENTIRELY. i said that, about all birthdays after, yes. NOT, THIS ONE. so. worst of all, i told a few of the angels about it, being my, birthday, and, all, and, what did i get? did i get a single hug? NO. did any one of the beautiful girls (at work, at BORDERS), so much as, say, blow me, a, kiss? HELL FUCKING NO! NOT A ONE. so. that's why frank's so riled today/tonight/tommorow. which leads me into my next bitch session. why i don't date. or even bother, to try. it's been coming for a while now, and i think i'll just cut to the chase, and sum up just why god is so all-fired up and pissed off, a lot of the time, especially, here, lately. could someone just please explain to me why, i, frank cotton, emperor of the known universe, the most holy of holies, the LORD GOD HIMSELF, who, just happened to, by the way, design it, in the first place, WHY CAN'T I GET ANY PUSSY! PLEASE? buehler? anyone? HELLO! this is serious, i'm trying to make a point here, and that point is, at least, i hope it is, that women don't pick a guy by looks alone? right? correct? isn't that...why, that's JUST BULLSHIT! they are, every bit, as shallow as men are! the men they complain about, being shallow! why don't i date? let's see, what am, i missing, BESIDES a shot of leg, from time to time. is it the, mind-numbing, mind-changing, mind-games? NO! don't, miss that. is it the, i, love you so much, but, then, i, go out of my way to make us both, miserable, with all the, boo-hooing over the, teeny-tinyest little thing, thing? HELL NO! sure as shit, don't miss that! is it the, nerve-wracking harping, that, pretty much, every woman gets around to doing, on, a regular basis, eventually? uh, no. so. girls, please...this is an over-simplification, but honestly, how many other, girls, do YOU know that, deliberately, sabotage, pretty near every 'relationship' they find themselves in? because, they're waiting for, mister perfect, and, well, this one's just filler until he, finally shows up? this is a heads up, ladies. because, if, things continue on, the way they are headed, with all this bullshit, one day, we, men, are going to perfect the, PUSSYBOT, which comes with a handy remote control, including buttons for, MUTE, PAUSE (think FREEZEFRAME), and OFF! and, then, we're going to take all our 'bots, and, all our handyman, honeydo, house maintanance/auto repair/etc. skills, and, MOVE TO ANOTHER PLANET. WITHOUT YOU. seriously, ladies, my last shot at companionship, for, lack of a better word (the 'r' word being, unacceptable), led to, after one week, my putting a cigarette out on the back of my, (left) hand, to leave a permanent reminder, of, how i, ALWAYS, end up getting BURNED. EVERY, SINGLE, TIME. and i try, my dears, i try harder than anyone, to make you happy, and, keep you happy. in that girl's defense, i, was unaware that she was a, board-certified psychotic, and, she was, literally, locked up in a hospital for, a week, because, she'd gone off her medication, and, off her rocker. this, has been a SPECIAL REPORT, and, i am, frank cotton, signing off.
-
"She's too old." You would prefer some stupid young bitch who can't act? "She's not hot / doesn't have the right hair color etc." Amy Adams is so hot it's absolutely unbelievable. Finally, a Lois who can give Teri Hatcher a run for her money as far as hotness goes. I mean, Margot Kidder was pretty, but Erica Durance is a pig-faced drunken slut if i ever saw one. "Enchanted" is a fucking awesome movie. She's got what it takes. She can act, she's got what all these other girls since Margot don't: spunk. Teri was hot as fuck, but she can't act her way out of a wet paper bag, and Durance reminds me of so many drunken college girl pigs out on the prowl looking to get fucked dirty in the late-night hours. Which I don't necessarily mind in real life, but that ain't Lois.

would be believable as a reporter. Therefore, good casting. But what is the difference? And lets give Lex Luthor a break too, unless he is a minor character. Also lets try and do a serious, not TDK serious but not 70's Donner maudlin, take on Superman. I loved how both Superman and Superman Returns started as grounded and serious, but as soon as they got to Metropolis, out comes the schtick and goofiness. Can we have something approaching a character study of a man burdened, yeah its a burden, with the power of a God? Faced with a threat only a God can deal with, aka not Lex Luthor, and how that affects the man. Just keep the goofy crap out of this one. And don't try to make it fit into the Superman Returns or Donner Superman continuity, just go out and hit it out of the park.

I said she's too old for the part. If you want to reboot a franchise then cast for the duration of the production, not one movie! She looks old to me, I can see the crows-feet wrinkles around her eyes and her complexion is getting more pale as shit! And screw personal taste, it takes 2-3 years to make one of these films. She's just not gonna look as good as the production goes on while Henry will be somewhat consistent in the the 3rd or 4th movie should it get that far. Cast someone in their mid to late 20's and give the production a chance to grow. BTW, I'm 44 and I get told I still look in my 20's all the time. No grey and no wrinkles at all. Put it down to never drinking alchol, never smoking anything and a good diet of chicken breasts! ;-)

Hell, in between wives I had an affair with a lady of senior age. Whenever she took out those dentures, I knew it was party time.

Amy Adams looks like the really smart, funny girl in high school...
by THE_CHOPPAH
the one that you intuitively KNEW was going to be uber hot once fully developed, yet also the one who has no idea they're destined for hotness. Yes, those were some fine gals. On a related note, can't help imagining slipping one of old Choppah's ham hocks into that backless, bra-less dress she's wearing in the photo. They may be small, but I bet their nice and perky.
-
I'm getting bored of waiting for that news.
-
It's not like the Box Office was SCOTT PILGRIM bad. Made almost 20 million. They might well end up breaking even with it or close to it. I smell cult classic btw...
-
You know, I could really see Sackhoff pulling off a terrific Lois Lane. I gotta admit: nice eye.
-
CHOPPAH's constantly in the line of fire, but not from gangbangers. Right now I'm in Libya, but I'm scheduled to swing by the Khyber Pass some time next week, then to Ivory Coast. Then maybe on to Burkina Faso, where shit just got really hot. Besides, we know LA ain't really all that bad much of the year. It's when the Lakers win the championship in June that you have to don the flak jacket for a couple of days.
-
I always love how no matter what the news, what the announcement, there's always a handful of "oh my God that's AWFUL" comments, or "THE MOVIE'S RUINED NOW!" comments. This just in... Jesus Christ has returned, and he's going to play himself in a biopic!! Talkback: >> TERRIBLE CASTING >> THIS MOVIE'S GONNA SUCK!
-
No, man, i'm very skeptical of this new SUPERMAN movie. And even the name of Nolan attached to the film is not giving my any hopes. In fact,a nd if i understood the situation correctly, nolan is no longer in any way attached to the movie. He has all his attention on his next Batman movie, and Supeman is now Snyder's baby. And that's the very worring part. The only good thing i can say is that so far i'm really liking the casting for this film, each and every one of the actors chosen, and i'm one of those who think that the actress who plays Lois should be more mature then the actor who plays Superman. The other thing that gives pause to my aggravationn about Snyder's choice for this film is that i'm not much of a Superman fan as such. So, by the end, if Snyder makes a bad movie, which he will, i'll actually not be that much upset by it. It will bother me that Superman gets a bad movie, but it will not upset me the way Snyder's two previous movies did, in which the fucker stepped my toes on two things i have a great love and enthusiasm and respect about: Ancient history and Alan Moore's WATCHMEN comic. I'm not much of a Superman fan, no i'm not, i'm more of a Batman fan, and as such, the batamn movie is in the right hands, so in the end, i have no real worries. Still, fucking Snyder anoys me to no end!

Le Vicius Fishus!!! Dude, i missed you! How have you been, friend? Glad to see you are still around.

Wow, braindrain got a good idea. And this is the second one in two days i see from him. Will wonders ever cease? I'm kinda proud of you, braindrain. I know you will disapoint me soon enough, but for now, i'm kinda proud of you. Good job.

asimov: If I caught my wife cheating with a hot babe ... ?
by THE_CHOPPAH
Well, I wouldn't consider that cheating. I'd consider it an open invitation for me to jump in and CHOP away. As for godlessness, there's nothing wrong with it. There is no other god before CHOPPAH.

How did assymuffjizz know that asimovlives would be absent from the talkbacks last week? Or was it just a lucky coincidence? I believe the impostor first showed up in the JJ Abrams tsunami relief thread after asimovlives had failed to do so for some time, so I suppose in that case the absence of the real asimov was actually the catalyst for the creation of the false one, which would mean that there wasn’t really any coincidence involved after all. OK. I guess I figured that out for myself, which makes this post kind of superfluous. Good work on the asimovlives impression though, mysterious stranger with a great deal of time on his hands.
-
All you needed to figure it out was right there in that talkback. I figured it out a while ago, but I didn't want to say anything because it would blow the guy's cover and I was getting a kick out of it. Anyway, the true identity of assymuffjizz was ... ... ... ... ... ... riggs_and_murtaghs_love_child

Got an annoying headache right now unfortunately. Good to be back. I'm not a huge Snyder fan, but I do like his DOTD and am ambivalent about 300 (which was ridiculous but kind of fun in a bad way). WATCHMEN I have not seen yet (since I HATED the change they made to the ending and have not yet been able to stomach a viewing). I really kind of think I'm going to need to see SUCKER PUNCH. While the majority of reviews are negative, some of the positive reviews have been intriguing. That stated, Snyder ALWAYS comes off in interviews like a world class meathead moron of the first order.
-
Another one?

but not by hollywood standards. Christopher Nolan seems to have something against hot women; he hasn’t had one in a major role in any of his movies. Memento - Carrie-Ann Moss Insomnia - Hilary Swank Batman Begins - Katie Holmes The Prestige- Scarlet Johanssen The Dark Knight - Maggie Gyllenhaal Inception - Ellen Page/Marion Cotillard He appears to be departing from the trend by putting Anne Hathaway in Batman 3, but he has also apparently decided to offset this diversion by reigning in Zach Snyder with regards to the Lois Lane casting.

I think the term “firecrotch” is outdated at this point.
by Frank Conniff
Thankfully.
-
I also did liked DOTD. I guess that if i watched it again i still would. What sets that movie apart form the rest of Snyder's career is that it's his most restrained movie. You can tell that Snyder didn't had a whole free hand, and it was those restrains, i think, seeing in hindsight, that made him able to make a watchable and relatively clever little movie. But then again, and thanks to hindsight, i guess if i rewatched DOTD again i would pick up on the usual idioticies of Snyder's and the movie would be irrevockely ruined for me for all time, if you know what i mean. 300 insults me to no end. The guy had a chance to make something TRULY special. and by spacial, i don't mean a stupid geekasm idioticy, but a really special movie. The Frank Milelr comic could had been a springboard, a blueprint for something bigger, better. He had it all there at his disposal. And what he did it with instead? A movie so stupid, sometimes i wonder if Michael Bay directed it. I can't give a worst insult then that. 300 could had been a condenter. Instead, it's just a dumb bum.
-
It almost makes me regreat returning to AICN so that you could still had your fun with that assy impostor. Almost.

sexy little red head playing lois lane! COOL!!!!!! noiw all they need to do is cast the villian, brainiac? i hope bardem takes the role

Helena Bonham Carter should play Brainiac with that big melon of hers.
by THE_CHOPPAH
-
I knew they'd go this obvious route, adams is ok but she doesnt have the balls to play lois lane, even smallvilles erica durance ( who holds her own in that show) is a way better choice than adams. They may as well just get Bosworth back. FUCKING LAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
...she is just so damn old. I mean, she is 36 years old and will be pushing 40 years old by the time the film hits the big screen. I think that they could have found someone younger...who won't look like Kal-El's mother by the time the sequel is filmed.
-
McAdams was tough, foul and downright mean in "The Fighter" standing up to Wahlberg's characters' ugly sisters. She will pull off LL just fine! I love "Returns," but Bozworth was severely miscast and even looked too young for that much history. She barely looked 22. And as much as I love Kidder in the role, it's not hers and she was probably the ugliest actress they could have chose. They picked her however because she nailed it, she gave the part spirit and moxy..Adams will give it moxy. She's shown she has it so stuff the negative bromides and give the girl a chance.
-
Always saw her as Harley Quinn in a non-nolan Batmanverse
-

At this rate Superman Returns will be better than this movie!
by KnightFire
Nips on Batman, Flames on Prime and now Amy Adams as Lois Lane. I love Amy Adams but there is no way she'll be able to play Lois Lane and I challenge anyone to prove me wrong. Seriously what movie has she ever been in that has her a strong confident women. There are times when she is going to have to stand taller that Superman and I don't see that from Adams. Also after seeing Sucker Punch this weekend and reading about how Synder is going to show us a different Superman, Which is pretty impossible after all this time unless I'm going to see Super Junk. ewwww! Sure JMS showed us a new version of Superman with his Earth One graphic novel but at the heart he's still Superman. I have lost complete confidence in this film.
-
I enjoyed her in the Fighter but she wasn't really that tough in that movie. I'd say she was strong but not tough and there is difference.
-
69 each other in full color 70mm Cinerama I'd never leave the theater!
-
We all want to see a rad Superman movie, and Nolan/Snyder certainly might deliver. I, for one, think Adams is the perfect age for the role. Kate Bosworth was an absolutely horrendous choice - far too young and horribly written in "Returns." Which brings me to an issue I wasn't aware of until fairly recently - the Seigels' legal victory over the copyright to Supes and WBs refusal to compensate them for the last decade. They've been stalling in court since 1999. Should we boycott this new Supes film unless they agree to pay the Seigels for the use of what is rightfully theirs? http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/03/28/joanne-siegel-final-letter/

Go back to beatin' it to the trailer for "Dylan Does Dogs". You know, the final nail in BJ Routh's "career".

-
Are you fucking serious people? Amy Adams is one of our best actresses working today, period. Three Oscar nominations in 4 years is a testament to that. This lady flat out can act her ass off. She can play any damn thing you throw at her. Go pick any movie she has been in, you will see the character, not her, in every damn one of them. She will own Lois Lane. The absolute ignorance here amazes me some times.

I can make my peace with Adams but...Superman's casting is all wrong
by wcolbert
I think that, above all else, is what already sounds the death knell for the film, even before it's completion. Why? 1. Too short (and even if you put lifts on a 5'10" guy, he clearly does not have the frame of a 6'4" man. 2. nobby nose. Superman is supposed to be the perfect man, not deformed. Next. 3. Facial structure is completely wrong. Jaw is too lightly built, girlish chin, and weird cheekbones. 4. Hairline. Guy looks like he's in his early hair-loss years. Could put a wig on him I suppose. 5. British. Now, if he can pull the accent off, fine, but I've heard all too many Brits who think they can sound American and still hold a hint of an accent. Just as it's often painful to see an American trying to play a Brit- even to our ears, the accent is often off. Adams could actually work- obviously she needs darker hair, and to NOT take a note from the former Lane in Returns, but could POSSIBLY work, with effort.

Like who?

Also, just a little reminder to the children who scream 'too old' at anyone over 30
by wcolbert
shut the hell up. It's HOLLYWOOD. The question is not 'what is his or her chronological age in the real world' it is 'what age is the character, and can he or she conceivably play that age?' I know to the barely pubescent teens and early 20's crowd, 36 might seem 'oh so old'...get a freaking clue. She's clearly nowhere near looking old, and if nobody had ever told you here age, you'd likely be unable to tell if she were 26 or 36. I'm 10 years younger than her and even I know that much. Hell, I'm mistaken for 18 all the time, carded at rated R movies and even for buying lottery tickets and most recently , but if I were an actor there'd be some idiot saying 'nuh uh too old to play that part, must be 18' if I were playing that age. Stop looking at age as if it is the ultimate determiner of who you are and what you can do. Different people age at different rates and live lives of different lengths. Understand that. Embrace it. You'll be there soon enough.

by AsimovLives
I think Emily Blunt would be great as anything. I'm in awe of that young lady.
-
Great.. so is Tobey Maguire next as Jimmy then?
-
She can act, and is sexy. There are definitely worse choices out there. I don't get the Emily Blunt love, she can act, yes, but I just don't think she is all that hot. Not ugly by any standards, but hot? Not in my book. Three words....too fucking skinny.
-
C'mon, that's just too much nitpicking. When I saw that magazine picture of him, I thought he looked pretty good for the role. There's no way I'm gonna complain that an actor isn't pretty enough... Besides, people get ridiculously hung up on appearance in the casting of any of these flicks. If they cast everyone purely on appearance, you're ignoring acting ability or if they can convey the spirit of the character. Hair color is an especially stupid thing to complain about.
-
Due to the current events in Japan and in the Middle East I think the subject of 2012 is of great importance RIGHT NOW. There is a great change occurring RIGHT NOW. And for those who understand and are at peace with the changes that are occurring and are to occur will find this shift miraculous beyond description. But for those who decide to ignore their inner calling and go about life as if nothing miraculous is transpiring right here and now, then all I can say to them is hold on because it's about to get uncomfortable. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. It's not very hard to notice these changes if you just sit back and observe for just one minute. Everything unlike the nature of God, Christ, Spirit, higher self, CHOPPAH whatever term you have come to accept as the universal principle, (I personally like CHOPPAH Consciousness so that is what I'll use here), anything unlike the nature of the CHOPPAH Consciousness will no longer manifest or pretend to exist. The illusions of the ego, the non-CHOPPAH ego, are coming to a end ... FAST. This is why you are seeing the collapse of governments and financial systems, and dramatic shifts in weather systems. The only thing that is going to survive in this new age are systems that are based on CHOPPING and serving the growth of CHOP. You DO NOT have another decade to decide. NOW IS THE TIME!

Amy Adams is talented. She's a talented character actor with a particular niche. She doesn't have the charisma... the "Je ne sais quoi" to pull off this role though. This film has many troubling aspects.
