Over on Vin Diesel's Facebook page (HERE), Diesel has posted a short video featuring David Twohy in which they discuss the approach to their new RIDDICK movie; we've already learned the new picture will be closer to PITCH BLACK in scale and attitude than the franchise's gargantuan and mythologically complex second installment.
In the video, Twohy reveals (and I'm closely paraphrasing here...)
"We want to maintain our R rating - at any cost...we are going to be lean, and we're going to do It quick..."
The 'R' rating comment is compelling as many fans were critical of the second film's 'softening' and loss of edge due to it's PG-13 (a decided downshift from PITCH BLACK's 'R' rating).

Very cool that they posted something like this - Vin's been doing a great job disseminating information and details about his life, and multiple projects, via his Facebook thingie over its lifetime - and I hope he'll continue to do so. Interesting stuff, and smart use of the medium.
