New WATER FOR ELEPHANTS Trailer!

Sure, let the snark begin. I already can predict many of your responses. After all, this stars Robert Pattinson. As for myself, I think there's something there, a willingness and a need to prove that he's not just a sparkly vampire but a good actor. And I'll say it - WATER FOR ELEPHANTS looks really good to me.
For one thing, it's directed by Francis Lawrence, who has a remarkable visual sense in his films. CONSTANTINE and I AM LEGEND are good movies, and I like that he's breaking from the horror genre to do this sweeping romance. Richard LaGravenese is a good screenwriter - if for nothing else he wrote the caustic and hilarious THE REF. It's shot by Rodrigo Prieto, an amazing cinematographer (BABEL, BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN). And it also stars Reese Witherspoon, Christoph Waltz, and the awesome Hal Holbrook. Finally, it's based on a well-received and loved novel. This could very well be a great movie, and I have high anticipation for it.
Now we get a new trailer, and I really like it. But judge for yourself. WATER FOR ELEPHANTS opens April 22nd.

I think I liked the book because I loved the setting - the era and the circus atmosphere. This trailer seems to have captured it. Though to be honest, I prefer Carnivale story telling to this. I'm just a sucker for ladies with hair. What? Screw you.

look at the look on his face when he says "No, there's just me." WTF is that? The problem with Pattinson is that he acts without objective so he falls back on canned emotion and he just doesn't have the line delivery to pull that off. Im not saying this cause I hate the guy, when Twilight hit I rented it thinking "Well at least that guy doesnt look like a puffy mannequin like Zac Efron." and he was atrocious. He's not good, deal with it.

I'll see it, despite the trailer making it out to be fairly formulaic even for me. Then again Christoph Waltz gives always seems to have an interesting take in his performances, so at least there's that to look forward to. Hoping it's good.

Yeah, you're right, it looks like they digitally removed the cigarette. Someone was telling me the other day that some group is pushing to have any movie featuring cigarettes to be bumped to an R rating. I laughed and replied "so 101 Dalmations is going to be an R-rated Disney flick?" I think this will be a fine movie. It's not a movie that suits me by any means, but I figure I'll see it with my girlfriend and she'll like it. And if it sucks, I'll just shift my concentration from the screen to her and I'll win either way. I think the only complaining being done about this film on here is because Robert Pattison (mr twinkling vampire) is in it. I haven't seen any of the Twilight films so I don't care. Maybe he'll do an awesome job in the role. We'll see.

But to get them, I had to sit in classes with people who didn't have a fucking clue how to write, listening to their opinions, despite them being wankshafts of the highest order.<p> I didn't mind that so much.I didn't have to get a real job. Some people would consider it film geek news cause it's directed by Francis Lawrence, who made I AM LEGEND and CONSTANTINE. Some geeks want to follow this director. Not everyone, but I'm sure some would. Just because he's not directing a movie based off of a cult movie or a graphic novel, doesn't mean we shouldn't follow a filmmaker (which I notice alot of so-called film geeks do).

Yeah it's a vag movie but Waltz is awesome and there might be a monkey and scary clowns in it. And why does everyone hate Constantine? Not a great flick but pretty damn good I think. And I'm a big Hellblazer comic fan. Keanu was a bad choice but the story was good and Stormare and Swinton were pretty awesome.

To be honest, Indy looks like Gollum. Or am I confusing that one with another ugly one? Do the SON OF MAN storyline. Include the backstory of how Constantine accidentally sent an innocent child to hell. Ditch the whole "halfbreed" thing, which never made sense. The mythologies explored in the comics are simpler and more frightening. Substitute at least half of the special effects with actual atmosphere, drama and dread. Bring in at least one of the other characters of the comics: Brendan, Ellie and Kit. The movie only had Constantine and Chaz, whom they killed off. Cast Tom Hardy as Constantine. Make it for half of what the first movie cost. Go for a hard "R" rating. Here endeth the lesson.

I got the gist of act one, for sure...most of act two, and at least the most important parts of act three. so there you go. anyone else notice that only movies like this have trailers that show the whole fucking movie? because why not? idiots will flock to it, and they couldn't discern anything even if Morgan Freeman were reading the synopsis. and those of us that ARE discerning, well...we're only going to see this if our wives drag us. or Nordling, I guess. by saying Constantine and I am Legend are good movies. They are both a mess, and look like shit. You're entertained by those ridiculous Hell scenes and over the top effects in Constantine? The "zombies" or "monsters" in I am Legend look and feel like cheap nonsense, which they are. Nothing about that movie is commendable besides Will Smith and the first 1/3 of the script.
