The Mighty Peter Dinklage Unsheathes His Sword In This New Image From THE KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM!

Beaks here...

I have no idea what Ryan Kwanten did to incur the wrath of Peter Dinklage, but it looks like The Dink means business in the above photo from Joe Lynch's THE KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM. Perhaps Mr. Kwanten disrespected the exquisite airbrush painting on the side of The Dink's van. That'd certainly be sufficient to jolt me into a sword-swingin' mood.

There's no release date set for THE KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM just yet, but with a cast that also includes Steve Zahn, Summer Glau and Danny Pudi (working miracles weekly on COMMUNITY), I'm sure it's only a matter of time before a smart distributor picks this sucker up. The story centers on a group of LARP-ers who accidentally summon a very real and powerful demon during one of their make-believe jaunts. This movie has just sounded like a lot of fun from the very beginning, and I've lots of faith in Lynch's ability to deliver a very clever - and likely very bloody - piece of comedic fantasy.

    "sword-singing"

    by Jaster

I can't recollect ever being in the mood to sing to a sword.

    by Jaster

You know...that movie with David Allen Grier fucking a midget on a table? Yeah.

That's also the movie in which...

    by Jaster

Kate Beckinsale leaves Matthew McConaghey....for the Dinklage. I'm not making that up. That actually happens in the film. They even make out.

I attended BNAT IV. Every image of TIPTOES - the brutally interminable director's cut! - is seared into my brain.

Is anyone excited to see this?

    by John

This was filmed just outside of town here and a few of the guys i work with who are big into LARPing are extras in it and i still have zero interest in this movie. What exactly did you see from WRONG TURN 2 to inspire such faith in Joe Lynch there Beaks?

    George Romero's Knightriders revisited?

? Always glad to see Peter Dinklage. But The Dink? C'mon that even sounds demeaning.

I thought WRONG TURN 2 was proficiently directed and a good deal of fun. Certainly an improvement on the original. I've also gotten to know Lynch over the last few years, and he's just got that unrestrained excitement for making movies. He's not chasing random gigs; he's looking for material that gets him giddy. He could've easily churned out some Dimension dreck by now, but instead he bided his time. That impresses me. Also, he loves De Palma as much as I do, so, y'know, I'm pretty well in the tank for the guy.

Which this site seems to care less about. "The Dink" will be all over that as the best dwarf character ever written.

You know, it's bad enough being a dwarf.

without having a name like Peter Dinkledge.

Wow game of thrones looks shit

    by Porco Drunko

seriously the costumes are all wrong. Nothing about this photo suggests they've got the tone right.

  • Fanboys was one of the cheapest, most awful movies ive ever seen in my life. And for some reason, this movie gives me those same vibes.

Has there ever been a more perfectly named actor

    by schadenfreudian

than Peter Dinklage? So, this cast includes, Dinklage (who i love), Steve Zahn, Summer Glau and Danny Pudi? I'd definitely check it out.

  • I'm in.

    Should be David Lynch directing.

    by otakuoverlord

I wonder if this will be another laugh-at-yourself-as-a-geek-but-its-not-really-funny-enough-to-support-a-whole-goddamn-movie movie?

She dumped him for a heavily made-up Gary Oldman.

I was wondering what Verizon did with that van.

  • Feb. 22, 2011, 8:05 p.m. CST

    jet, you're right

    by Jaster

It was dwarfified Gary Oldman. I actually didn't realize it was Oldman for maybe half the movie so whoever did the makeup in that movie gets props.

Peter Dinklage is the rare midget actor who can actually ACT

    by Nasty In The Pasty

I still fondly remember his rant in Living In Oblivion... "When was the last time you have a dream with a dwarf in it? Even*I* don't have dreams with dwarves in them! Oh look, there's a dwarf, she must be having a fucking dream...!" Sadly, most "little people" are just trotted out for cheap laughs at their diminutive statures. Fuck Mike Myers for that shit with the Mini-Me dude. What I want to know is...why midgets actually TAKE that crap. If the movie is nothing but a bunch of short jokes at your expense, DON'T TAKE THE FUCKING JOB.
