A Nice, Clear Look At THUNDERCATS Figures (From Cartoon Network's New Series, As Well As 'Classic')...

Merrick here...

Over the past few weeks, we've been covering Cartoon Network's impending THUNDERCATS revamp (HERE and HERE, for example).

Some of this coverage incorporated stills from Bandai's forthcoming toy line based upon the series - but much of what we saw were crude vids and hastily nabbed snapshots from the recent New York Toy Fair.

Now we have some much clearer product images to share with you - which give you a very nice sense of the characters' tweaked designs and the toys' level of detailing.

Here are some 4" figures from the new series' line... (top to bottom) Lion-O, Tygra, Panthro, and Cheetara.

Per Bandai...

  • Each of the 4” figures comes with a weapon and/or accessory that is unique to each character.
  • All 4” figures include an embedded magnet in the figure for interaction with multiple SKUs across the line, activating unique features.

A closer look at the series' iconic Swords of Omens, which ...includes lights and sounds with an extendable blade!

Some shots of the new Thundertank...note Snarf peeking out of the cockpit (or whatever you call the little drivey place in a tank) .  Bandai says...

  • The ThunderTank comes with a 4” scaled Snarf figure, designed to activate the magnetic “ThunderCats, Hooo!” sound effects.
  • Launch the Bikes with a simple push of a button.
  • The new 2011 4” figures can ride inside and unlock special ThunderTank features.

Finally, some 8" 'classic' figures, based on the progenitor series from the 80s, will also be released.  Here's a look at 'classic' Lion-O and Tygra.  Pretty nice...

Stay tuned for more as the show approaches its debut....
