Aaron Sorkin, creator of NBC’s SNL-inspired backstage hourlong “Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip” will appear on “30 Rock,” NBC’s SNL-inspired backstage sitcom, according to Entertainment Weekly.
“Studio 60” and “30 Rock” debuted within days of each other, but “60” never got a second-season order. “30” is wrapping up its fifth season and has already been renewed for a sixth.
Screenwriter Sorkin, whose credits include “A Few Good Men,” “The American President,” “Sports Night” and “The West Wing,” has managed to scrape by since the cancellation of “60.” He went on to write Oscar nominees “Charlie Wilson’s War” and “The Social Network.” His cable-news backstage pilot for HBO is casting, and he’s about to make his directorial debut on “The Politician,” based on the book about cheating husband and presidential candidate John Edwards.
