Jamie Bamber, who played Lee “Apollo” Adama on the 21st century version of “Battlestar Galactica” masterminded by Ronald D. Moore, has joined “17th Precinct,” the Moore-created NBC pilot about cops policing a world full of magic.
The half-American/half-British Bamber (“Band of Brothers,” “Law & Order: UK”) will play a homicide detective. He’s the second to be cast after Stockard Channing (“The West Wing”), who plays a former homicide detective.
Bamber also recently starred in the BBC’s futuristic sci-fi miniseries “Outcasts,” about humans trying to colonize a new planet.
Moore’s other writing credits include “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” “Star Trek: First Contact,” “Roswell,” “Carnivale,” “Caprica” and the excellent failed Fox pilot “Virtuality.”
