Will Clark Kent bow out of “Smallville” without facing his most famous foe one more time?
Entertainment Weekly’s James Hibberd cites “a knowledgeable source” who indicates Michael Rosenbaum will not reprise the role of Lex Luthor for the “Smallville” series finale.
I’m guessing that source is -- or has spoken to -- Rosenbaum’s agent, and I further guess The CW simply isn’t ponying up enough money to keep that agent happy.
“He has put the show behind him and moved on,” that knowledgeable source tells Hibberd. “He’s pursuing his other creative outlet [writing]. By all indications, he is not going to be involved.”
The series has four more hours to shoot – including the two-hour finale – and only six or seven weeks to shoot those four hours.
So maybe all we’ll get to see is the back of a bald extra who shakes his fist menacingly as Superman flies back toward Lois’ apartment.
