What is the song used in the Battle ad?

    by taking_up_space

  • Feb. 5, 2011, 11:27 p.m. CST

    Why show these early?

    by solvseus

Not you guys, the companies. They spend millions on ad time, but put them out on the net and let news shows, etc show them before the actual game. What's the point? It's like those ads that show the entire movie or TV episode. Kinda defeats the purpose. Someone is going to make an "ad wizards" joke if they haven't already.

Gotta admire the NFL and the networks

    by Truxton Spangler

for turning a sporting event into a marketing orgy. Quite remarkable that they've been able to con people into watching ads--by appointment and willingly, even if they don't care about the game or don't normally watch football. Toss in a crappy halftime show (there's no other kind) for some musical promotion as the cherry on top. And if the audience is lucky, there might even be a good game played.

... between the cold and the fast-forwarding through commercials and half-time, I tend to weed out anyone not interested in football. I can just watch the damn teasers on this site. And I wish they could put Artie Lange in the booth w/ Joe Buck. GO PACK, GO!!!!!!

All the movies look the same...

    by Fa_Tass_DinoMolester

Drink a little too much beer watching the game?

    by Fa_Tass_DinoMolester

I was commenting on digital lens flares, if you'd read what you were replying to... <p> I'm not getting into a pro/anti CGI conversation right now, but for the record, yeah, I'm tired of looking at pixels when I go to the movies. If I wanted to play a video game, I'd play a video game. Practical effects are art created by a human, CGI is a bunch of 1's and 0's assembled by a computer. Give me practical effects any day, thanks.

If you're too busy in your mom's basement on world of Warcraft making sweet virtual live to a hobbit... Granted, most of you get the over-hyped, second rate NFL shoved down your throats... And while it has it's merits..... Specifically.... THE PACK ARE THE GODDAMN SUPERBOWL CHAMPS....WOO! No, most of you don't get to experience the true football (no, not soccer), the CFL.... Congrats to the Packers... All heart... A storybook season. Riders Grey Cup Champs in '11! Go Riders! Out.

    Alcholic Cheese Spray?

    by JCarlon

Those ads are pretty good, but it's a shame they didn't show my the for Four Queso, America's first hyper-caffeinated, super-alcoholic, pressurized cheese spray. http://vim eo.com/19584378

Video no longer available due to copyright claim by Audi

    by solvseus

That's brilliant marketing right there. Spend a ton of money on a commercial for your product, then sue so no one can see it anymore. I swear, some of these companies are run by absolute morons. Everyone else just showed their commercials before the game even happened making it kinda pointless to spend so much on those who've already seen them. Also brilliant. Could be worse I guess, like some of them who show ads before these, so you're basically having to sit through an ad so you can watch another ad. We are so doomed as a species.

  • Feb. 7, 2011, 11:48 p.m. CST

    "IMPORTED FROM DETRIOT"=win

    by FeralAngel

Damn good commercial. Made me want to buy the damn car, which I just might, since I'm in the market. Chrysler was a good brand once. Could be again. Will give it a try, thanks to the ad. And Eminem was pretty effective. So the Chrysler ad and the one with all the old TV icons cheering on their teams (kinda nice to see ol' ALF again) was fun.

    Super Bowl Commercials 2011

    by Red Dawn Don

You can also go to foxsportS.c_m/ads to see all 85 commercials. I think approx 20 of the commercials are pretty good. The other 65 were meh. My wife liked the "Bridgestone Tire Beaver" commercial best. I liked the "Reply All" ad the best. The one with old technology was note worthy. Notice the blimp and pong game in the background. I don't usually like Ozzy or Bieber but their commercial together was awesome. Bieber is wearing a beard at the end. The Darth Vader kid was okay. It had a budget of zero but touched the public like no other. The "Epic Ride" must have cost a lot of money for all that cgi. Aliens want our cars? It was nice to see Roseanne Barr take it on the chest for Snickers. The "Love Hurts" black couple rocked? The "What First Daters Were thinking" was dead accurate and funny. "I want to sleep with her." Car Maxx was like a kid in a candy store, a geek at a robot convention, a hippie at a drum circle, a wrestler at a folding chair factory, an acrobat at a mattress store or a customer at a Car Maxx. Wow, full circle.
