The single most awesome fan video made while I've been in the hospital!!!
Hey folks, Harry here...
Ok, so I just got emailed this... done with the combined ridiculously silly talents of Brian Behm, Paul Gandersman & D Campbell MacKinlay (aka Cartuna) - I suppose this is an inspirational video to help me through REHAB - instead, it makes me painfully afraid that if I exercise a bunch and get Stallone's physique, that my head with my megamind will be abnormally gigantic atop it.
Seriously - this is extremely funny and very touching. That said, I will say... when I do get walking, and god willing running, I'll most definitely make the pilgrimage to "THE STEPS" because honestly - everyday before Rehab I do listen to the Rocky music & Basil Poledouris' CONAN music.
SO... here's the video:
HARRY from Brian Behm on Vimeo.

A hilariously absurd fan video regarding my current situation! MUST WATCH!
-
Sly would laugh his ass off if he saw this! Show it to him, Harry! Good stuff! Get well soon!
-
...thats some funny shit!
-
GET WELL SOON HARRY!
-
No one in the history of forever has ever received a better "Get Well" card in their life.
-
Nice to see Carl Weathers didn't hold out for more cash for the use of his footage this time. Great work guys!
-
But, I don't see you chasing chickens? what the fuck?
-
Hi Harry, First off, get well soon, we're all pulling for you. When you do get to Philly, my wife and I would be happy to show you around... including "the steps" and the rocky statue. In fact, my wife lived in Austin for about 5 or 6 years (1999 to 2004) so I'm sure you'd have plenty to talk about. Anyway, just know that you have friends up here in the city of brotherly love and we wish you well in your recovery. Good luck with everything.
-
You mean those weren't really cuts of you in that montage? The effect is seemless. Glad to see everyone is sending you love and hoping for an great recovery man. Eye of the Tiger..
-
or 7th Voyage of Sinbad title score those are real motivators that will get your blood pumping.
-
it's like an orange on a toothpick...it's got it's own gravitational field. HEED!!!!!!!PANTS!!!!!NOW!!!!!
-
This task was appointed to you, Harry of Austin, and if you do not find a way, no one will. Seriously, you have the whole world of geeks backing you up on this, man. We're all hoping to see you become the best version of yourself that's ever been. You can do it. Work, fight, believe!
-
seriously
-
That was great! Get well Harry.
-
I also approve of that talkback handle.
-
Dear Harry from the heart, get well and good luck bro. Being close to 500 pounds, i know what its like to not be able to move, and while i still got full sensations in my leg, it fears me that one day i too might not be able to use them as u have. Get well soon bro. If you manage to do this, then you give REAL hope to all of those out there like us that can do things like this, not that bullshit hope that reality tv shows like heavy give us where if you just go to this camp or that.. Get well soon bro. Got a legion of geeks across the world cheering you on!
-
Sorry for the double post. Hit the return button too quick. But anyways, that was a KICKASS piece of work. Very inspiring and very funny. Best of luck Harry. WE'RE ROOTING FOR YOU!!
-
That's all I ask. And get well.
-
...but no pressure.... PRESSURE! PRESSURE!
-
art.
-
looking forward to seeing you in a video on the steps.
-
Did you know, your a champion in their/duh-nu-nu...
-
Hehe, that was very fun and nicely put together by those guys. Aint it cool when someone goes that extra mile to do something nice like that.<p> And remember "Defeat does not exist in this dojo!"<p> ps. Neither does high calorie high fat food. Do not give in to the dark side. Witness the power of your armed and fully-operational wang.
-
...and utterly disturbing. Carl Weathers definitely had the better bod.
-
The little details, like Rock's shirt changed to say "Win Harry Win"!...and the "First!" banner on yer back as you are running with the kids. <p> Get well soon! And, btw, the nurses request that you stop "crapping thunder".
-
That shits Talkback proof. Get well soon, Harry.
-
about you last night. Paul was in it, too. I went to visit you in Austin and you looked like you did in around 2001 at BNAT2, but even thinner. I'm really happy for the future you have ahead of you!
-
is angry kid....
-
good luck Harry.
-
How 'bout a weight-loss montage? It would be followed by a montage of Harry staying happy, healthy and hospital-free :)
-
As an avid film nerd and a physical therapist, gotta wish you all the best. I don't always agree with you, but I'm damn glad things are looking up for you. Now, I better think of something rude to say before I'm accused of being gay for your balls.
-
...was freaking awesome. Best wishes on your rocky rehab, Harry!
-
Seriously, that made me smile. You should film some of your rehab stuff Harry, so when you do get to the walking and running bit, you can have your own real montage....and you will get there!!! Nothing is better than walking with a nice cool breeze. Good luck to you sir.
-
tore my leg in half and needed acl, lcl, and meniscus repair work. there are a hundred things I can say about a year's worth of physical rehabilitation but the most important thing to do is be honest about what hurts and how it affects your ability to sleep. if you can't sleep then you can't heal: those rascal doctors prescribe you codeine/caffeine with wild abandon and then you can't sleep or heal. this video is funny and I approve, so hopefully you do keep eyes on the prize of being all better and don't get bogged down by worries that you'll seem like a puss the one day that you admit that something hurts.
-
That was damn funny! Good luck Harry, get better soon dude!

Oh man, that Stallone mouth at :56! Bwahahahahahahahaha!
by The Reluctant Austinite
That Stallone mouth on Harry's mug telling him to "push it" sent me into convulsions of laughter. Oh, that feels good. Must watch over & over.
-
Just joshing. 'Twas awesome!
-
Harry isn't in the mirror's reflection; it's still the reflection of Stallone. That is just lazy editing in my book.
-
Wishing you a speedy recovery from Zurich!!!
-
Excellent work. And yeah, I kept thinking "Burger King" King, too, in a good way. Continued success, HK.
-
Just a pointer... running in cons will fuck up you knees... just a pointer...
-
Best wishes for a fast and better-than-ever recovery. Flying high now! Teflon Billy
-
This and Harry's determination to turn AICN from a forum about movies to a "ME! ME! ME!" self-indulgent love-in is completely turning me off the site.
-
I'm a big fan of the asics cumulus gel. And remember, jogging is pronounced with a sof 'J' as in yogging.
-
The lighting matches up really well. Cool stuff!
-
Apollo Creed should have been a cameo of Moriarty.
-
they're expensive, but I've had problems with pretty much any other sneaker, ESPECIALLY Nikes. Bought the last three versions and recently bought the 16's again just cause it would have taken a week to get the 17's... it being right after the holidays, I needed to do some serious running asap. But yeah, can't stress enough to pay attention to the aches and pains (besides what's considered 'normal') and to find the right running/workout shoe. Good luck!
-
How the hell does someone bash that? It's just too much fun to watch and yeah, I LOL'd more than once.
-
I had to close my office door for that Harry, I laughed out loud and the girl across from me gave me the evil eye. Good luck from Chicago! When you get well you can do the Sears Tower (Willis Tower) run! Clubber, what's your prediction for the fight? Prediction? Pain.
-
But the video rocked! Get well soon big fellah! :)
-
That was sweet.
-
Can we get a direct Twitter feed so I can hear about every damn thing you do from sun-up to sun-down? Dream come true. Get back to non-objectively pushing your studio friends's shit on us please. Missing your selling out. Much more interesting than someone wasting hours of their time pasting your roaming gnome mug on Rocky. God wills it!
-
It First's whenever it's told. That was a very touching and funny video. Right up there with Weta's H&P Collectable Line. Love the "First" sign taped on the back as the kids take chase.

The specific surgery that was required to fix me was only invented 4 years ago. Before that it was only done in Europe, with iffy results. I've been in hospitals with other issues between the initial impact, when I was uninsured and living in the poverty line. Contrary to popular belief, running this site does not give you untold fortunes. It is a living, but when one is responsible for 3 households of family, one makes sacrifices, mine was my health - for a large part of my life. I could live a good life in a wheelchair. I don't regret a moment of it. It gave me a perspective on life that is one that I feel a great many people would learn a great deal from. It is incredibly humbling, and that was something that I most definitely needed. Also, my condition was complicated, I was thinking for years it was weight related, after I broke my left leg and couldn't afford to properly rehab it - and I allowed both legs to go weak, due to just being distracted by an incredibly filled life. This surgery was basically perfected around the time I was married. For the past year and a half I've been fully aware that something was wrong in my spine. Fear that it was something that could not be corrected kept me from getting it checked out. I was actually shocked when my family doctor never had me MRI'd. I mean, seriously. I didn't know just how precarious my situation was, until literally almost too late. That said, every professional doctor has been extremely complementary to how I handled it, and have out right admitted that had I come in 7 years ago when I became a wheelchair guy, they would have seen the problem, tried to help, but would've most likely botched it. Leaving me a paraplegic. That I somehow walked the tightrope - and successfully survived the ordeal, unlike so many other people with my injury - is apparently pretty amazing. That being said - I was extremely well educated about spinal care and rehab - as I've read pretty much all available material in multiple languages online. And due to my successful self treatment, they're now studying me, because in 25 years of Neurology, I was the most mobile and active paraplegic in the Western World. Or so I've been told. I was doing some pretty far out experimental things that kept my legs working, as well as they were. Otherwise, they should've stopped working 8 years ago they tell me. Same with my penis and other bodily functions. At least that's what the Neuro-specialists have been telling me. But maybe they're all conspiring to make me a TV MOVIE OF THE WEEK.
-
Harry, what is the procedure called?
-
glad to hear you are healthy, but please change that animation at the top of the page.

That was awesome. --LOVED the "FIRST!" banner on your back. HAHAHAHAHA...
by JDanielP
Man...I saw the original "ROCKY" at the theater, back in the day. And I remember how the crowd stood up from there seats, cheering like it was a live sporting event while the boxing was taking place. Never in my life have I experienced anything (else) like that. And even in this Harry-version, with his face plastered over Stallone's, I STILL get those goosebumps. I don't blame you one bit for listening to that music, Harry, to help motivate you. What an incredible moment in movie history, that was. Harry or Sly, either way, it is still very effective. GREAT way to send a "GET WELL" greeting. Best of luck to you, Harry. --Just be sure to look both ways before you cross the street, as that is something you don't want to re-learn THE HARD WAY. And I don't think you would want a tv drama, of your life, to show your struggle to walk again and then suddenly just end with.....hit by a car, roll credits. LOL
-
Can we edit ourselves, these days? If only.
-
Keep working hard.. YOU CAN DO IT!
-
And the 'First' attached to your back like a 'Kick Me' sign was my favourite part too. Next time you talk to Cartuna, tell him to get in touch with Brian and/or Kevin from High School.
-
I wish you a speedy return to full health. Been reading your site since 1995 or probably before that, if it existed!!! I reckon there should be a movie about your life. If they can put something together on bloomin' Mark Zuckerburg and make it interesting, a film about you would be 1000 times as fun to watch. There could be tons of cameo's by real life actors, or just actors playing them i guess. Everyone from RR to Stallone. Yeah that was a great video. It's a testament to the affection we have for you that folks will go through that amount of trouble to make it. You deserve it.
-
Surely a song from Revenge of the Nerds would be more appropriate? 'You've got to put one foot in front of the other foot, the other foot down, down, down'. Get well soon, Ginge.
-
and then it got old.

Once Harry proclaimed Willow Smith's video "all kinds of awesome"...
by DoctorWho?
...I just simply do not trust the man. I refuse to watch.
-
the characters. Years ago I woulda said Jar Jar. All would be good
-
here's to a speedy recovery Gingervitus.
-
I love it.
-
Harry you mad bastard! I love the video. Keep smilin. I came back from a stroke at the age of 35, it takes work....lots of work, but it is worth it in the end. You are in my thoughts.
-
That is incredible! Thank you for sharing it with us. Get better, Harry, for yourself and your, lovely, delightful wife.
-
Keep fighting the good fight! I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers my friend. My best to you always and your lovely wife. Sincerely, Prof. Griffin
