ScoreKeeper Wants You To Get FROZEN!

Published at: Jan. 31, 2011, 1:05 a.m. CST by scorekeeper

Greetings! ScoreKeeper here chilled to the marrow by this new soundtrack CD giveaway I have in store for you. But first, I've got one more run down this slope before the resort closes for the night. I'm about halfway up the mountain now so I'll just...uh....wait. Hello? The lift just stopped....Hello???

Hmmm, OK. Well, might as well get the contest started while I'm here waiting for the lifts to get going again.

Last year I saw a film called FROZEN (2010) from director Adam Green who also made HATCHET (2006) and HATCHET II (2010). FROZEN is a fun and refreshingly simple little terror flick that I genuinely enjoyed. It's an old-school thriller that will have you yelling at the characters on screen and squirming in your seat. It also sports a really cool....uh, wait. The lights just went out...Hello???....HEL-LOOOO!!???....Brrrr, getting cold up here. Anyway, the film sports a really cool score by Andy Garfield. This past week 2m1 Records just released Andy's score on CD. It's a limited release of 500 copies.

I've got three copies of the score to FROZEN on CD, all signed by composer Andy Garfield, ready to give away to loyal Ain't It Cool readers. Wait! There's more. In addition to the CD, a "grand prize" winner will also receive a page of sheet music from the score signed by the composer. If..if..if...brrr, so very cold...if...if you w-w-want to enter here's what you n-n-n-need to do.

Drop me an email at scorekeeper@aintitcool.com using the subject: I WANT TO GET FROZEN! and include your name, mailing address, a valid email address, and your favorite score or piece of film music evoking an icy, chilly or snowy climate. I'll randomly select three names who will receive an autographed CD and from those three names I'll randomly select the "grand prize" winner who will receive the sheet music signed by the composer. All this courtesy of Andy Garfield and 2m1 Records.

The deadline for submission is Monday, January 31st, at 11:59pm EST. Only one entry per person please. International entries will be accepted. Duplicates will be discarded.

F-f-f-f-for more inf-f-f-f-ormation including ordering, audio samples, and a complete track listing vist 2m1 Records.

H-h-h-h-h-hur-ry! I'm f-f-f-f-fffreezing my ass--s-s-s-s off!

This movie was the biggest piece of shit I ever seen.

    by Mike_D

they should have called the movie "eaten by wolves" instead of "frozen." thats the only damn thing that happens in the movie.

  • Jan. 25, 2011, 12:12 p.m. CST

They didn't really need to be in trouble...

    by professor murder

All that snow everywhere and Iceman just sits on his ass for a couple of days and lets his friends suffer before he even attempts to get to the ground??? Xavier would not be proud....

    Nice movie

Although I'd rather not see my ex lookalike suffer as such. That made me go :(

Some Really Stupid Fucking Characters In That Movie

    by Autodidact

They wrote the characters in Frozen as a bunch of really simple idiots. Like the boyfriend who jumps 70ft off a ski lift with his feet still in his snowboard bindings. He just lurches out of the chair.... anyone with half a brain would at least hang by their hands. Using the lift cable to get to a pole and climb down would have been the very first thought in my head. And I'd take my fucking ski boots off first. All that said, I didn't think it was the worst movie. About as good as Open Water 2.

I've got to agree with the majority on this (Spoilers!)

    by Neosamurai85

It had moments of effort, but all and all it felt so pointless and dumb. The only person that survives is the least developed, least interesting and arguably the least likable. The killer wolves concept really bugged me, perhaps most of all because they show up THE FIRST NIGHT. Really? I'll admit ignorance on this, but I would assume that it would take a little while for wolves to enter an area that was just hours before flooded with people. Wolves don't like to be around people. And it would not be in a ski resort's interest to allow packs to be running within such close proximity anyway. But really, the script just pissed me off. I get what they were going for, I think, but honest to god I'm sick to death of all these films that think suffering is enough. Oh! A situation! How horrible! Bask in the horribleness of the situation! Oh wait, what's this? Someone is going to try and escape, have an arc, overcome the odds... nope! They don't. But they bleed good. How tragic. Fuck this shit. "Alive" it is not.

Am I the only one who loved it?

    by red_weed

I really liked the film. I think I was going in expecting a silly exploitation horror but I actually like the characters and was surprised how quick they were to kill the first one off.

    Not bad

    by Every Oscar Ever

Thought the movie was kind of fun. Great concept, mediocre execution, but if your expectations are low I think it's definitely worth watching. -Matt http://EveryOscarEver.blogspot.com
