Hammer's next film, THE RESIDENT has a trailer out! With Christopher Lee in it!!!!
Hey folks, Harry here...
I don't know about you, but I love that HAMMER is in the business of horror and suspense again. Seriously. Now, this new trailer though has a shot, not far from the end of it, that I wish I hadn't seen. So I'm just stating that, right now. And there's a bit of this that reminds me in an odd was of PACIFIC HEIGHTS, that was the title right?
Anyway, this has a great cast with Hillary Swank as the damsel in distress, one of my fave guys in film right now, Jeffrey Dean Morgan - but she has an old creepy neighbor, who seems like a nice enough old man in the trailer - but we all know he's the fucking PRINCE OF DARKNESS... even if John Carpenter didn't put him in that film. giggle. CHRISTOPHER LEE has made a new HAMMER HORROR film! And that is a reason to be happy.

Here's the trailer on the new Christopher Lee HAMMER film, THE RESIDENT!!!

bitches

Great cast. Plus it's got the guy from "The Fall" and "Pushing Daisies". Sweet.
-
But as the movie goes on and on, they have to get out of "thriller" territory and just go bugfuck all out horror. IF they do that it can be downright awesome. And it's cool seeing Christopher Lee in ANYTHING, especially HAMMER!
-
Nice to see Hammer involved with some decent looking horror/thrillers again.
-
Or can Hilary Swank go from beautiful to having a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp in an instant. Honestly, it's always bothered me about her. Back on track, this looks good. You can never have enough Christopher Lee, and Jeffery Dean Morgan has the chops to play a creepy charismatic psychopath.
-
Looks absolutely awful. Seen it a 100,000,000 times... Will probably watch it tho. But might not. Dunno which way I'm leaning on it. Meh.
-
Excited to see Hammer back in business but would be even more excited if Lee has a lead role in this.

Also this trailer was available 5 months ago, fyi.
-
That "Let me in" remake was unnecesary.
-
...which is not at all. Its awfully modern and American for a Hammer film. They should have set it in 1893 and made it about Hilary Swank vs. H. H. Holmes. But it doesn't seem to have blue/green digital color filters used in the cinematography which, for the thriller genre, is a miracle in this day and age. Hooray for Chris Lee.
-
These new Hammer movies are Hammer in name only. The reason Hammer films are so wonderful is because of their place in Horror history, and the totally individual 'feel' they have. Having Christopher Lee in the occasional one, is lip service to an actor far greater than the films he is currently doing. You can buy a crown it doesn't make you king.
-
.....so torn, A new Hammer with Lee but it looks so shitty.....
-
Finally i see a movie where he is just a normal (i guess) old man. Not a wizard, not a noble man, not a middle age something or a victorian whatever.
-
...it would be entirely unworthy of attention. There isn't a single interesting or exciting thing about it, except perhaps for the cast. On the other hand, Hammer did put out one of the best movies of 2010 - LET ME IN. Here's hoping they keep up the good work.
-
Who is that? Stuntman? The real bad guy? Doesn't look like JDM. Kinda creepy lookin'
-
I'm definitely going to give this my full support, just so we might see some new classics from the house of horror. New adventures from Quatermass, the Duc de Richelieu, Captain Kronos and Father Shandor would be fab! After The Resident, we have Wake Wood and The Woman In Black to look forward to. Surely it's worth celebrating an independent production company with such a rich legacy? I suspect they're going to find it tough getting distribution whilst competing with the majors. So folks, start supporting your favourite horror label and stop quibbling!
-
Wish Hollywood would make a movie with him as the lead before he shuffles off this mortal coil.Something Oscar winning.
-
God bless him but it seems like he should be pushing 100 years old by now.
-
Can you dig your man?
-
The key to a successful remake: 1) play it straight 2) use stop motion dinosaurs instead of CGI and 3) cast Angelina Jolie as the lead. Let's face it: if you can't convince an audience to see something well-reviewed like Let Me In, you might as well roll the dice on a can't-miss mix of sex and Tyrannosaurus Rex.
-
This is how Skynet takes over
-
This movie looks so bad, how can anyone be excited for this? Swank rubbing her thighs, sure sure sure... Other than that it looks terrible. The lighting, the acting, everything looks bad! Except Swank's thighs.
-
but her smokin' hot bod makes up for it.
-
going by that trailer at least. How cool would it be to have Chistopher Lee as Setrakian in the film of the Del Toro / Hogan books. Imagine Lee chopping vamps in twain with a silver sword
-
I'm there. Looks very interesting and not generic as others have posted. It has a terrific cast and the camera work and editing looks very "movie" not MTV/PERFUME commercial shit.
-
is jizz

-
Because I'm already bored to death with this story. If Hammer wants to come back, I'm all for it, but with this throwaway movie? What's the draw?
-
They already did, back in 1966.
