Park Chan-Wook has shot a half hour film on his iPhone!

Nordling here.

Yep, according to the Wall Street Journal, Park Chan-Wook's next film to be released was shot on an iPhone.  The future is here, people.

I don't yet have an iPhone myself (my provider doesn't sell them) but it seems at this point, short of diagnosing illnesses the Star Trek tricorder has arrived.  And now you can shoot motion pictures on it.

The short 30 minute film, called "Paranmanjang," (Korean for "Ups And Downs"), is apparently a fantasy "that begins with a middle-aged man fishing one afternoon and then, hours later at night, catches the body of a woman. The panicked man tries to undo the intertwined fishing line, but he gets more and more entangled. He faints, then wakes up to find himself in the white clothes that the woman was wearing. The movie’s point of view then shifts to the woman and it becomes a tale of life and death from a traditional Korean point of view."

I'm dying to see this.  I'm a fan - I adore OLDBOY especially - but I'm especially curious to see Park shoot on this technology.  What would it look like?

So, any budding filmmakers want to give it a shot out there?  Looks like the revolution is already starting.  Click on the Wall Street Journal link for more information about the film.  Hope it gets released online really soon.

Nordling, out.
