This ICE AGE 4 trailer - is actually a brilliant little animated short film! You really must see this!
Hey folks, Harry here... You don't see this often. A complete short film, that simply gives you an experience that is in fact better & infinitely more perfect than the feature will ever be, but because of this short film... You'll see the feature because. Damn, if that's what they do with two minutes and forty seconds... maybe there'll be a few more minutes that'll rock an eighth as good as this... well, that'd be a blast.

The ICE AGE trailers are the best things about the films. This one is the best yet
-
So ronery... :-(
-
Meh. That is all.
-
Very much enjoyed that. Thanks for posting

Long time, no see!

going blind? if not then why the jumbo text, gahd...my eyes
-
And hackish. Just like making main characters all animals that will be extinct. Then adding characters that had already been extinct for millions of years. I hate this franchise. Oh, and this is the SAME THING they did with the girl Scrat trailer for the last movie. No new territory here.

my wife chuckling in the back of the room. We are Ice Age fans, and look forward to most stuff Blue Sky creates.

Except God's a squirrel.

he's been posting immediately into his own articles- at first i thought it was because he'd forgotten something he'd wanted to add to the info. but after seeing all of them so far, they do not add anything, simply repeat some sentiment he already expressed in the article. no, what he's really doing is being 'FIRST!' and not letting others have it...lol. i almost have to give him due for that. i'm so sick of seeing people shout FIRST
-
FIRST! Had to be done...

Can anyone tell me what music in this is from Alien 3, (which is listed in the credits) because I can't for the life of me figure it out.

>riley martin: Does 'firsties' bother him that much? Yes, they do. They really, really do.

Scrat is the closer to the classic Looney Tunes brilliance
by Snookeroo
than anything Warner Bros can concoct in their test-marketed, suit-driven, focus-grouped think tank. Don't get me wrong, The Ice Age films are pretty rote. But the Scrat pieces are inspired.

Why do all the prehistoric movies only involve creatures during the Mesozoic? Triassic, Jurassic and Creataceous periods? How come theres never any Permian or earlier creatures? There were plenty of cool and nifty creatures around before the dinosaurs...like Lysostratus. The only one people are familiar with is the Iguanodon...but there were tons of cool weird creatures before the dinosaurs. Bigots.

So I've, admittedly, never seen one of the ice age movies. I hear good things ive just never gone out of my way to see them. My question is this: how are these same characters still alive? Theyve gone through two or three actual ice ages in the movie I'm assuming, and now they are vein propelledpast Pangaea to the world as we know it today. That's at the low end a few thousand years. Is there any narrative caveat that allows them all to still be alive through this, or is it just "it is what it is" kind of thing? Wouldn't they be extinct and/or thousands of years old? Don't mean to be too literally or troll-y about a kids movie...just curious is all

what that squirrel is doing with acorn in the beginning? Am I missing something?
-
We need more anarchic humor like that in cartoons these days. I even liked his cameo in an Xmas Simpsons episode, weak as it was.
-
That little bastard is falling faster than rocks! FASTER THAN ROCKS!!! if this is the sort of "attention to detail" I can expect from the "brilliant" Ice Age 4, then you, sir can count me out. If I want my intelligence insulted with those sorts of impossibilities, I'll watch Glenn Beck. This flaw doms what is otherwise the flawless logic in the short. I am fanboy, hear me bitch.

Everything you said was true of The Phantom Menace trailer
by jazzdownunder
I love watching that trailer even now... I still can't quite believe that the feature failed so catastrophically to live up to it's own promise. I know, I know, it really is time to move on, but frankly "the trailer was better than the movie" isn't all that uncommon an occurrence. Cop Out also springs to mind.

@crow3711: These are movies that feature talking animals...
by jazzdownunder
... if you can suspend your disbelief that far, then just go the extra 1/2 inch and believe that timelines, adherence to the strict geological record in the timeline and scientific observance of evolutionary events play no part in this dojo. It's a STORY. :)
-
I think you mean Dimetrodon.
-
....unapologetically. Looking forward to this one as well.
-
Because he's usually more wrong than right.
-
And clearly he remains so. In the fine tradition of Wile E. Coyote this lovable bastard just keeps on truckin'. He probably couldn't sustain a whole film by himself, but he's a great break in the Ice Age films. I would actually like to see Scratt cartoons in front of other Blue Sky animated films. have they ever done anything other than Ice Age and Robots? They should try something new.
-
now he's got more than Oprah!

I saw the first Ice Age film because of the Scratt trailer
by supertoyslast
I really admired that they had created an old-school Looney Tunes-type short to promote a film. So I was kinda disappointed when it turned up as part of the film. I preferred the idea of a standalone short. I'm guessing this one is standalone, but didn't find it as funny as the first Scratt short.
-
I'm pretty sure this isn't a trailer at all. I'm almost positive it's just a short made because everyone loves Scrat. The previous Ice Age movies with these Scrat "shorts" at least had the title for whichever Ice Age movie it was advertising. I think this is separate from the flicks. I could be wrong, but I think you're wrong.

HAH!!! My first FIRST of the New Year!!!
-
Quit trying to show off with each other and just enjoy something already.
-
If I could see it. MOV file doesn't work in spite of my being able to see every other MOV file I've tried, and when I try to save it, I get some rinky-dink 82 byte file which does me no good whatever. Is there an alternate site which actually works?
-
That it was for kids and wasn't a huge deal. I just wanted to know if they had a creative way to explain why they live so long, or if they just ignore it. I mean even in kids movies animals don't typically slab thousands of years. I was just asking if the writers were creative about it or ignored it. Apparently they ignore it.

just can't catch a break can he?
