I can't quite run any GREEN HORNET reviews - but here's some letters from readers...

Hey folks, Harry here...   Here's a sampling of "Thank you letters" that I got from the AICN screenings of GREEN HORNET in 3D last night.  I can't publish my enthusiastic review till next week - along with the full reviews that I've been sent.   But - this should give you an idea of how happy the audience seemed to be with the film...   So, here ya go...

Harry,

Just wanted to write you a quick note and thank you for the movie last night.  Both the GF and I came out of it loving it, thinking it was a great summer popcorn flick that was somehow shuffled into the middle of January.  You hit the nail right on the head when you described Britt as a true millionaire playboy.  Christoph Waltz definitely made me laugh with his "woe is me, nobody respects me" villain.  And let's face it, Jay Chou is frickin badass as Kato.  Loved it.

The 3D effects were excellent during Kato Vision, but at other times the movie did seem a bit too flat to justify the glasses.  Unfortunately, that's something I've seen with most converted 3D movies, and can only hope they don't screw up Harry Potter 7.2 with it's conversion.

Thanks again for the movie, man.  Your screenings are always quite fun.

James

Just wanted to thank you and let you know how exciting it was to have a screening in Houston. My girlfriend and I had an amazing time at the Alamo and you are right, it is the best venue in town. What an incredible movie on top of it. I was skeptical like many others at first that Seth Rogen could pull it off, but he made me a believer. The 3-D was the best  I’ve seen yet and the flow was pitch perfect, great balance of action and comedy. Plus Jay Chou was amazing! He’s going to be a huge star.

Thanks again, Great job! Hope to continue to have screenings here in the future.

Best regards,

Justin

Harry,

I just wanted to take the time and tell you thanks for getting your neighbors down here in Houston a screening of The Green Hornet.  The movie was way better than I was expecting, and I had a blast throughout the whole flick.  Also, that was the first movie I've ever seen in 3D and have to say that I really enjoyed it.  Please thank all involved for giving us the opportunity to have the screening of the flick.  Was also great to have a reason to get back out to the great Alamo Drafthouse.  I LOVE that place!

Thanks again!!!!

P.S. - You and everyone that contributes to the site do a GREAT job.  Just wanted to say that since I always see people bag on you guys and talk a bunch of crap in the talkbacks and on a couple of the other movie sites I frequent.  I wanna slap the shit out of them sometimes! LOL.  It'd be pointless, but still....

Thank you thank you thank you Harry. My Little brother and I loved The Green Hornet more than we could have imagined. I am seriously converted. 3D has a purpose. A fucking plus. So nuts. Gondry, Rogen, Goldberg, Chou, Waltz all at the top of their games. A mind-blowing beginning to the new year. What I liked about it was that it had two things. Balls.

Love,

Shane Vader

Thank you so much for setting up a screening in Minneapolis.  It was a balmy 11 degrees the evening that evening but it was really worth going out to see it with a good friend of mine.  As far as the movie itself, damn did I love it.  Everything from the scene between James Franco and Christoph Waltz to all the wonderful toys and vehicles.  Plus an Eddie Furlong sighting?  Perfect.   Just a helluva fun movie all around and the crowd here really ate it up.

Here's hoping to maybe an early screening of Thor here.  Because, let's face it, the Norwegians here in Minnesota might consider that a documentary.  ;)

From a very appreciative fan,

Harry - thanks to you and PetSnakeReggie for the screening tonight of "The Green Hornet" in Minneapolis.

I drove 534 miles from Indiana to see it with an old buddy from college who I don't get to see nearly enough.  What a great reason to visit!

And if you're able, please tell anyone you know that is associated with the film that I thought it was incredibly well made.  Just a great balance between well thought out kick-ass action and great humor.  It had superb visual sequences that were memorable, but never took the audience out of the film.  And the writing was intelligent, and had a real sense of 'authenticity.' I felt like I would have acted, spoken, and questioned things exactly like Seth did.  Really pulled the audience in.

Thanks again, and I really love the site.

Regards,

Keith

Harry

Just got back from the Green Hornet screening in Minneapolis.  It was a great time.  Crowd was good and so was the movie.

Been reading the site for almost 10 years but never got to participate in anything before.  Always have wanted to get down to BNAT, but with work, kids, etc. it isn’t in the cards right now, so it was cool to actually be part of something through the site.

Would love to see more up in the frozen tundra!

Thanks again

Thank you so much, Harry, for the screening of "The Green Hornet" in Rosedale, MN! I really liked it, but not nearly as much as I enjoyed overhearing the absolutely nerdtastic conversations that occurred pre-movie.

There were these 2 30-something dudes who were talking about how much "Yogi Bear" sucked. A movie they actually paid to see. It was awesome.

Anyhoo, I hope you kick us another preview screening sometime soon and, once again, thank you so much.

Sue
