Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
For the final BtSPotD of 2010 I’m nodding back to Ridley Scott’s Alien, the very first BTS pic of this column. I’ve had a few great shots from this film and this one’s pretty damn swell, too, featuring none other than the brilliant HR Giger on set, built around his out of this world designs holding up an egg for the camera.
So, a nice bit of symmetry to wrap up 2010! Enjoy!
Tomorrow’s pic is a bit of a departure, venturing into some swinging music behind the scenes, but don’t worry… the featured crooner was also an Oscar winning actor, so it’s all okay. Happy New Year everybody!

I would be hard pressed to say who is fuglier...Stephen King or H.R. Giger. In either case, you just know that in some alternative universe, their High School Yearbook's gave each of them a "most likely to turn into a Serial Killer" award.

and the extended versions on the DVD or Blu-ray?

all available footage including "deleted scenes"has been inserted into the movie, some of the lesser characters now have more dialogue

were available all the way back on laserdisc... I remember making a SVHS copy of the movie with everything back in it... don't the new discs (blu-ray and DVD) of this movie have an option to play all these scenes within the movie in order? Maybe not... maybe I'm remembering my own 1994 cut on SVHS!

I'm hoping they don't fuck it up and i can finally ignore everything that happened after 'Aliens'. Four great films and the franchise redeemed. I can hope.

In both it's incarnations...as for the 2nd and 3rd, the extended/directors cuts are better, especially Alien3, it's an entirely new movie on the blu ray. Fucking rocks...AVP's aren't the worst either..again unrated for those is an improvement. Would love to see AVP done "right" though..I have all the comics.
