it's the green hornet. with seth rogen. are these people really winners?
-
I've never seen a winners list this long, and some of those name seem a bit phony....but...enjoy the dreck folks, and report back!
-
I'm very happy to be going. My girl and I are huge Gondry fans. He's one of the most consistently interesting filmmakers working today. That so many people are ready to condemn a film in advance of seeing it doesn't surprise me--it just makes me pity them.
-
and yes they are winners and losers at the same time
-
this was the closest things to War Games I've ever seen in a AICN screening. The only way to win was not to play.
-
Hopefully this movie is entertaining and proves the naysayers wrong. See ya Tuesday!

Is everyone in Austin asleep?
-
Oh, who knows, it may make money, it just won't make any from me. I've never said it wouldn't be entertaining, if you're expectations are low enough. It just would not be entertaining to ME, except that I'd be laughing at the thought of Rogen dasting to play this character. According to an article in either the Times or Slate that just came out, people are tired of paying for movies like this, which I shall now dub SnortleComs, middling movies conceived by stars and producers, designed to get the snortley, clubby reaction from geeks, because geeks are a growing movie-goer base. And I'm not a snob-sometimes my expectations are so low their feet would dangle off a cigarette paper and I can drool with snot running down my nose with the best of them. Shit man, I was dumb enough to pay for all three Star Wars prequels, at which point I said, clearly I'm fucking insane, I don't learn from past mistakes, I don't listen to other people and my best years are behind me. Because those movies were 4-star turds. Not with this classic character. Not interested. I know very well how this should be done, and this ain't it. I've been thinking about it since the show went off the air. This ain't it. Seeing JJTrek and then seeing Cawleys made me realize how incredibly hard it is to pass on original vision to people who get it. Most are evidently either too dumb or callous or incapable (or they want to plug in their own "vision" which they've usually formed making rock videos or Tidy Bowl commercials--in modern America all our little darlings are geniuses). What especially undoes modern movies is, if the story and character were fundamentally adult. We don't really grow adults or men in American any more--not useful in a slavish consumer society--so expecting the infantile boys we now plug into the creative places where men used to live, and expect them to understand the material--they can't. So they take the characters and distort them into things boys, the kind of boys who like fart and penis jokes, will like. i'll be goddamned if I'll be a cheerleader for such crap. Heh that was a fun rant. Gotta run, I'm supposed to be stalking Quint's dog.

Checking this site and finding a thought provoking movie review. OR Some cool leaked information about a cool upcoming movie. These contests only apply to an extremely tiny percent of this website's visitors. Seriously....this site has lost its relevance. Where are the advertisers? Did everyone pull their funding?

It's just a movie, I mean its not like you nerds are leaving out of mommy and daddy's basement to go see this anyways, right??
-
For some time now. Rarely do they get an authentic scoop. Dark horizons and Latino Review are better at genuine hollywood news journalism then AICN is, any day of the week. When I do see news posted, its usually scooped from other sites or has been posted online for some time before aicn gets a hold of it. Of course, no one twists my arm to come here whatsoever. I frequent the site out of the off chance there will actually be something news related that's 'cool'
-
by not watching this movie. It looks like absolute shite.
-
I swear Kato had more lines in the trailer than Bruce Lee had in the entire TV series.
-
Don't act shocked when it happens.

There used to be a character on SNL a long time ago, a guy who couldn't modulate his voice. Rogen reminds me of that character, I just realized -- I find it hard to watch him because he BELLOWS all the time in that basso profundo voice, always in the same monotone at about the same volume. It's one of the reasons he's funny, that it's plain that he's oblivious and insensitive to others around him. He just mojos through situations, a bull in a sensitivities China Shop (like that blind guy in the W.C. Fields vid that someone put up the other day). I HAVE A VOICE MODULATION PROBLEM. I AM INCAPABLE OF MODULATING MY VOICE. IT IS NOT FUNNY IT IS A SERIOUS DISORDER AND I HAVE SUFFERED TERRIBLY BECAUSE OF IT.
