Are you playing with the APOLLO 18 site?
Hey folks, Harry here... Remember that old AI campaign that existed online back... oh, a year before Spielberg/Kubrick's AI got released. Remember Ms Sala? I do. In fact, just the other day I was talking with my friend, Johnny Wadd about AI. That marketing campaign was simply a joy to play with. Sure, it was a marketing campaign, but it was more than that. It was smarter and more rewarding in many ways, beyond the finished film. Definitely more influential. A lot of what LOST was doing, feels like it began with that AI campaign.
Now, I'm not saying that Timur's APOLLO 18 website is going to blossom into that. But today it had an update that required a password. Now, I've been watching that site just because... well, I'm a dork that loves NASA and the various whacked out conspiracies that circle around NASA. So I played around with the password for a bit - and put in "apollosoyuz" - and you'll have a new blacked out page of info to research about. I'm curious about this Colonel Norris and his chickenscratch writing on the bottom corner. And I've got a feeling that we're going to see more. See what you folks can dig up and keep me in the loop. I love stuff like this!!!

Cant figure it...really don't like the animation this week
by Stormwatcher
I avoided HC at all costs and really dislike that my favorite movie site has a reference on it like that...Ugh! Next will it be a Serbian Movie spoof? Please go back to the Tron one or something. Also..I'll see this movie anyday over Transformers.

i have to relog every time i run my browser although the cookies are enabled which makes it very tedious, all the opened topics have the same "Aint it cool.." title in the browser's tabs instead of the topic's title which make it extremely difficult to scroll between them and you have to press twice the "expand all" button in order to make it work. Although i dont mind that much the layout change, the navigation of your site has become a lot worse that it used to be prior to the upgrade, which i am pretty sure it only happened in order to reduce the bandwidth usage from refreshing the long talkbacks pages and to add the feed function. Please at least try to fix the relog problem and the tabs title problem.thank you.
-
and you came up with "apollosoyuz" ? yeah, i think your buddy's site isn't getting any traffic, so they told you to advertise it here. WONDERFUL! NEW WEBSITE! =========apollosoyuz=============we take any forms of payment!
-
then i noticed that the OP had mentioned it.heh.
-
if you notice the folder name,it is written as apollo-soyuz-something,the pages are about this mission,so it is not that far-fetched to use that for the pass.
-
Plinkett's Episode III review will be up on redlettermedia sometime tonight...just a heads up for anyone who is a Plinkett junkie
-
How do you manage to go out the house, when things offend you so?
-
For those that remember it was called "The Beast" if you'd like to reminisce theres a great archive of all the sites at cloudmakers.org Id really love to see TPTB assemble an in depth documentary on The Beast as a supplement in the A.I. blu-ray
-
Still shilling I see Harold. "apollosoyuz" what a load of fucking shit. If the studio ad douche's are creating password's with spelling like that then I won't bother. Prick's.
-
and they usually love to catch a viral campaign.
-
to read your 'secret' DVD reviews this month, Hank?
-
Fine, giant talking robots, whatever. But are they saying Apollo 11 was on the "dark side of the moon", or the moon rotates in way that you can land on it and the Earth will set and rise? Amazing, I don't even have to see the movie to have my intelligence insulted. To have fictional versions of Armstrong and Aldrin play out such stupidity makes me want to see the real Aldrin go on a punching spree.
-
I just looked at the Page source view and clicked the link... "I needs no stinkin' password..."
-
Nothing about this viral campaign at UnFiction Forums or over at ARGnet.... I think its just kicking off. Dont get me wrong , it could always be total shit. For every Beast or whysoserious theres a shitload more bs Viral Campaigns Theres been a bunch of great ones this year like FlynnLives or the one they did for Dexter , so,.. You'll never know if its total shit or totally awesome till you're in up to your neck
-
he has time to fix his site which is full of viral marketing and compromised passwords.
-
I thought that was fun as heck. Spent TOO much time at work deciphering clues...playing with AIM bots and getting calls from "deep throats".
-
Zombot, you're fucking hilarious dude. That made me chuckle.
-
If you right click on the images and save them, they're much bigger than they display on the site. You can read all of the text that way. If the marketers were smart, they would have included the password on the first image somewhere instead of resorting to tricks
-
"Copernicus" since that was Apollo 18's mission destination in the moon ( the Copernicus crater ) Also, it would have been a nice touch to have the system actually be Unix system 7 running on a PDP-11 or a VAX/VMS system instead of this weird hybrid DOS CP/M looking thing
-
too lazy to edit? to lazy to exercise? too lazy to walk? not too lazy to talk.
-
it was too easy...ha ha
-
if I can get involved in another Viral Marketing campaign after the let down from the "Cloverfield" mind fuck, bull shit mother fucker cocksucker cum bubble on syphilitic dick. Sorry brief Turrets intermission there.
-
Really? FREE TRANSPORT?!? Seriously??? No fucking way! Thanks zzjjj88!! Your website is the best!!
-
Indeed!
-
I am THIS close to clicking on that stupid fucker's site... lol So damn curious...
-
Would somebody shut that asshat up? He's like a gnat on a hot day.
-
If only we could...
-
That's not the REAL dickblood, is it? That would be "teh awesome".
-
Go easy on the poor kid. He has Asperger's for Godsake!
-
I'm taking the night off ;-)
-
Are YOU still going on about how "shitty" Serenity was? lol
-
This post actually passes for what I would consider "cool news". Also...please give me a call when you have a chance. Your loving brother, Larry
-
longtime no speak. Say hi to pops for me.
-
That's the most idiotic statement I've heard this year! One more day to make it official tho.
-
Just stop. Please, for the love of god... for your own sake... Stop.
-
I'll bite. So what, SPECIFICALLY is it that you did not like about Serenity, Mr. Drain? Please. Do tell...
-
Was that it? You seem to have a great deal of animosity towards that fine little flick.
-
I was referring to you, in some alternate universe preferring choosing Transfos 3 over A18.
-
Brain Drainage's 2 favorite films are Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. And he also LOVES the star wars prequels. His AWESOMENESS knows no bounds...
-
She was the coolest thing about the bread crumb viral online marketing of A.I.
-
"apollosoyuz" isnt bad spelling... "soyuz" is a type of soviet / russian spacecraft still in service today. (Thank you google!).
-
Brother Barry! I've missed you bro bear! It is so wonderful that this TALKBACK is uniting our family again! This was my new years wish for us! (Even prison can't keep us Knowles apart for long). Please be patient with Harry, Barry - he still carries around a lot of hurt and anger. But I am convinced that if we combine our brotherly love, there might be hope for him yet. Barry...Ill txt u ltr. Harry...please give me a call when you are ready to open your heart to new possibilities. Your loving brother, Larry Knowles.
-
for the love of god
-
I'm happy to admit my ignorance, and apologies to the market men. "It was the last Apollo mission, the first joint U.S./Soviet space flight"
-
Guys! I know I was adopted, but please let me join in on the fun! Fax me!
-
As in guardian of the Underworld? Is this just going to be Event Horizon 2?
-
it really, really blows. it wouldn't be hard for a good website to be better than that pile of shit.
-
So like. That serenity movie. Well it's like a big budget episode of the show and doesn't stand al
-
you just hit the return key too early. don't blame site maintenance for that one, sir. I've been clumsily doing that since 1999.
-
I doubt this is related to that new Transformers movie
-
In the Transformers 3 trailer they make Walter Cronkite say that there's loss of signal when Apollo 11 is on the far side of the moon. The only way that could be is if they're saying the Sea of Tranquility rotates away from Earth. That never happens because the same side of the moon always faces Earth. Anyone who would be impressed with the trailer's beautiful opening homage to Apollo 11 would know this. Now, they may be referring to loss of signal because the command module Columbia is orbiting the moon and would be unable to relay the lander Eagle's signal to Earth when it is on the far side of the moon. That's at least possible, however in reality the lander could and did communicate directly with Earth and the orbiter was not used as a relay. The trailer doesn't explain this at all.
-
...we get the long awaited sequel to Apollo 13!

Heard from sister carrie? Anyway. Page me. Peace and love, brothers xxx
-
This is great. Who is Col. Norris? Wonder if his first name is Chuck. So... Apollo 18 really did happen? I read Timur B. is integrating real footage that he got from the Russian space program.
-
Saw the trailer in front of True Grit. Thought the premise was going to be an awesome movie. Then I saw "Directed by Michael Bay" and "Produced by Steven Spielberg" and thought "Oh...the same team that brought you Transformers." And then I saw the goddamn robot and got pissed.
-
on one of the images, at the bottom it states "CLASSIFIED: two-three-two-zero"
-
