Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
I know we just featured James Cameron, but I kinda picked today’s pic at random and random apparently wants to be Aliens, so here we are. Who am I to argue with randomness? Nobody, I say!
So, there’s not much to say about this pic other than it features Vasquez and her badass gun on display in front of Mr. Cameron and his camera. I love the military tech in Aliens so much… from the design to the sound of the pulse rifles to the motion detector rigs built in to give a crazy amount of tension… Great! Now I want to throw in the amazingly presented Blu-Ray and watch this flick again.

I hate how the movie seemed to treat her like some kind of manly beast. At least Cameron wised up and cast somebody already known for being hot when he recycled exactly the same character for AVATAR.

I never get tired of watching ALIENS. It's one of those movies from my childhood that I would rent almost every damn weekend until my parents finally caved and bought me my own VHS copy. Come to think of it, that was my Christmas present back in 1989. That, and a radio controlled Batmobile from Tim Burton's BATMAN. I love the holidays.

Looking at the main page there seems a singular lack of anything except BSP? Is it just the time of year?

This is just embarrassing now. The 6 most recent stories, and 3 of them are these stupid 'Behind The Scenes Pic' things. It used to be that you could say "I remember when AICN broke the news...", but now you can barely say "I remember when AICN actually reported news..." Other sites are reporting mountains of news, that you guys then recycle 5% of, in amidst poorly written reviews and fucking news about tabletop games. Aint It Cool was fun while it lasted, but you need to just take it out the back and put it down mercifully. As it is, I get great news coverage from Deadline, Dark Horizons and HitFix. I can go two weeks without coming to AICN and then get back here and see the last lot of top stories just now reaching the bottom of the page.

the HALO franchise liked the design and tech of the Aliens movie as well,since they riped it off completely.Even Big Jim made a remark about it when he asked by a smart-ass journalist about the design similarities between the Avatar and the Halo vehicles and spaceships. Jim's remark? "Well i think i am entitled to rip off my own stuff,right? heh.

they released a wave of future military action figures around the time this came out. i have two and one was dressed pretty much like Hicks but he had a gun like she does. it actually hooked onto his side and the figure carried it just like the movie. i never realized at the time but they obviously "stole" that from this movie. lol

OH, that's nothing. The latest GI Joe figures are HUGE ripoffs of some famous characters. The new Spirit IS Billy from Predator. The new Recondo looks way too much like Blaine. The new Duke comes with a pulse rifle, and the new Destro comes with a Smartgun, complete with the arm to attach it to his side!

the most blantant being that Army Ranger that had the machine gun on the rotating mount that looked just like Aliens - and I think he was in the wave that came out just after Aliens lol. But to be fair, everything ripped off the weapons of Aliens. Before that, comics all used "pew pew" laser guns, then everything was a big, square, bulky looking bullpup type of machine gun or plasma gun. Cameron changed everything with Aliens and Terminator.

So the news is new to me when I get here. I used to go to Dark Horizons, but life got busy and I always said I'll stick with this site as long as ID4 is the wallpaper. Little trivia, for the first couple years I read the site I didn't know WTF the background was.

The TC was perfect, didn't need to be tinkered with. The DC is too long and gives away too much. Yeah the stuff with the colony is interesting, but showing all that kills the suspense.
