REAL STEEL looks like a crazy live action version of MICKEY'S MECHANICAL MAN cartoon!
Hey folks, Harry here with a quick Trailer update for that Hugh Jackman science fiction film that is, essentially going to be called by just about everyone as a live-action ROCK'EM SOCK'EM ROBOTS - and there's nothing wrong with that, except there will be character development and a story in play here, that could be quite a bit of fun. I've been hearing amazing things about the visual effects and just how well they'll mesh with reality - and I have to say, I do like the Trailer quite a bit, it looks great, but I've also heard that this isn't even the finished effects for this film, so it's just gonna get better and better. But you know the best thing about this trailer? It means we're closer still to the Aronofsky WOLVERINE with Hugh. Which I am fairly positive about saying it will be amongst the best things ever. And if it isn't. Darren will need mutant healing abilities because he knows we expect greatness from him on this - and after the last WOLVERINE, we surely deserve it. In the meanwhile... Is nowhere near complete. The Ruby On Rails version of AICN was at least a month and a half off from being where we wanted it to be, to debut it. However, due to some problems that developed with our Drupal version - we had to aggressively move forward with the new version and do live development, which I and every other web person loathes. But it was that, or shut AICN down for a month & a half.

But the trailer seems to do away with the whole father / son aspect and the struggling fighter. Or did the script ditch those ideas? Also, it seems a lot of trailers these days are coming out almost a full year before the films release. Why? People seem to lose interest waiting that long.

Yes, I'm complaining. Fuck it...I hate clicking on every comment to read it....especially if I'm peeking on this site on my phone while at work. And yes, this movie looks like crap too! But, Im getting shitfaced at the DIESELBOY concert after work...so I guess Ill forget about this...till tomorrow.

I'd rather watch it if it was directed by Eugene Levy. I have a feeling it will feel like one of those okay directed "Amazing Stories" episodes blown up for the big screen.

I remember reading a short story many years ago that had robots fighting each other in a boxing ring by Richard Matherson it was also used for a Twilight Zone episode,about a flesh and blood fighter who decides to take the place of one of the robots ..it was quite a sad story in many ways

Added Ignore and Hilite Buttons. Edit and Delete Buttons should (haven't tested this) show up in Chrome. Now you can ignore or hilite your favorite users (can't do both). Also, reoders the talkback, makes it look more like it used to, adds a running count to the messages, and more. Been working on it, don't have time to say everything. Check it out! I have scrolling issue and I dont see the edit button on the new site. Also, I dont how you could have made a more BORING trailer. Why would I care about this story characters? Is there any tension? Is there a particular robot as the main character, or is it just high jackman and some inanimate toys? why would people care about robot fighting in the future when watching people is infinitely more satisfying? The trailer addresses none of these. How about voiceover, black screen: "In the near future, human sport fighting is outlawed (cuts of crazy UFC people getting worked). Robotics and AI industries find a new venue to develop and advance their technology (clips of robots doing all sorts of nice things for people that require coordination, speed, and strength) ...REAL STEEL" (clips of robots fighting) voiceover, montage of jackamans shitty life: Now, a down and out fighter has one last chance to use what he knows...to save his family...and give a robot what it never had.. (clips of our main robot being built, consigned to the dump, then fighting and getting the shit kicked out of it...its down and out) "...the heart to fight back" (shot of the beat robots eyes lighting up, hand clenching into fist) REAL STEEL yes its simple and not creative, but that trailer was balls. All I gathered was that in the future robots fight and hugh jackman trains them. Id rather watch Robot Jox than this crap.

The new update did nothing to improve the deficiencies of the previous talkbacks, and yet managed to make them more difficult to navigate. Sorry if that hurts your feelings. <p> Calm down a little. I generally read a few headlines here (though they've usually been reported elsewhere) and occasionally the talkbacks, but people like you are a damn compelling reason to "leave and not come back." You know nothing about my life, what I do, or my proclivities (for the record, I'm generally not a tenth as negative as the average talkbacker), yet you are just champing at the bit to get on a high horse and cast some aspersions, eh?
