* “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” gave TLC its best series launch, but it was soundly outwatched Sunday night by another basic cable reality show, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
* Palin garnered less than half the rating scored by “The Walking Dead,” which maintains its status as cable’s top scripted series and Sunday’s top cable show.
* “Undercover Boss” hit another all-time low. Last spring it consistently won its slot; now it languishes in fourth place. Its weakness seems to have hurt “CSI Miami,” which hit a new season (maybe series?) low.
* “Boardwalk Empire” remains pay cable’s top current series.

Herc has been reporting on the KEY DEMO (ages 18 - 49 year) for more than a year, so I don't think this comes as a shock to anybody. The key demo is important because, let's face it, this is the number that advertisers look at. This is the target audience, not 50+. Furthermore, if Herc was "skewing" the numbers to get the result he wants, then he would have found a way to make the Dollhouse numbers look good.

is is its incinsistent timeslot. I've tried to DVR it as I'm not home on Sunday evenings and only get remains of Undercover Boss or other shows due to it being on the same day that NFL fooball has such unpredictable lengths. i can't record CSI:M because I've no idea when it'll show. I'm used to its quality at this point but this timeslot is absolutely killing the series... which I'm honestly think is what someone high up really wants.

Obama was a half-term Senator who ALSO thought he was capable of running this country, and after only two years, actually HAS proven he's a moron. If you're really so insecure about what you enjoy watching that you need some sort of validation that it's 'popular' then you're an idiot. But ratings do directly influence advertisers who's money keeps these shows on the air (except in the case of paid channels, obviously). That's why it doesn't matter if you downloaded the show from a torrent afterwards or DVRed it and then watched it while skipping through the commercials, your viewing that show has no influence over whether it will continue to be renewed. That's also why only the 18-48 demographic is paid attention to on this website (as has been pointed out ad naseum), that demographic is the demographic that spends the most money. It's all about keeping track of which shows will be on the air.

Mostly groceries and diapers. The key demographic will buy the DVDs, shirts, figures, comics and more. I also think Sarah will bottom out by the second or third episode. If anything it shows how stupid people in voting for her in the first place. The key demographic usually has money while the older is living off of fixed economies.

Did you watch the last episode? What soap opera have you seen ever that had a scene with a racist biker thug handcuffed to the top of a building asking God for forgiveness and promising to change his ways if God helped him just this once and then quickly reverting back to his toughguy persona and telling God that he'll doesn't need his help and will never beg for it. This was one of the most honest scenes I've seen on tv in a long time and it came from a bit character.

Just compare Sarah Palin to Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden. I'm not fans of either one of them, but they are smarter than fucking Sarah Palin. I'm not saying that she's a total retard because she's making money so she's obviously doing something right. But to put Pelosi and Biden in the same category is stupid. I would feel a hell of a lot safer with those two, or any of the Republicans who ran for office in 08, over Sarah Palin.

Biden's an average joe (pun intended). Bush said much more stupid things than Biden by far, but I still would not say that Bush is devoid of intelligence. That said, I don't like Pelosi very much. I too see the crazy eyes and I hate her forced smile. I am also very disappointed that the Dems chose her again as their leader in the House given that she is largely the face of what people voted against. That said, both Biden and Pelosi are genius' compared to Palin.
