USA NETWORK’S “PSYCH” MARKS “TWIN PEAKS” 20TH ANNIVERSARY WITH A ‘DAMN FINE’ TRIBUTE EPISODE ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 1 Series Originals Sherilyn Fenn, Sheryl Lee, Dana Ashbrook, Ray Wise, Robyn Lively, Lenny Von Dohlen and Catherine Coulson to guest star NEW YORK, NEW YORK – October 15, 2010 – When PSYCH returns for its fall run in November, viewers will be treated to a “Twin Peaks”-inspired episode scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, December 1 at 10/9c. Entitled “Dual Spires,” the episode celebrates the 20th anniversary of the cult favorite with guest star casting that includes Sherilyn Fenn, Sheryl Lee, Dana Ashbrook, Ray Wise, Robyn Lively, Lenny Von Dohlen and Catherine Coulson. Series Star James Roday serves as co-writer along with Bill Callahan. The episode kicks off with Shawn (Roday) and Gus (Dulé Hill) receiving a mysterious e-mail inviting them to the annual Cinnamon Festival in Dual Spires, a quirky Northern California town nearly invisible on the map. When they arrive the pair quickly find themselves embroiled in the mysterious death of local high school student Paula Merral. As Shawn and Gus unravel the many secrets of the town, they meet several local residents including town doctor/lawyer/veterinarian Donna Gooden (Sheryl Lee), Sheriff Andrew Jackson (Lenny Von Dohlen), proprietors of the local diner Robert and Michelle Barker (Dana Ashbrook and Robyn Lively), the mysterious Woman with Wood (Catherine Coulson) and enigmatic bookish beauty Maudette Hornsby (Sherilyn Fenn). The pool of suspects proves to be deeper than suspected as Shawn and Gus must work to figure out who killed Paula Merral. Ray Wise reprises his role from last season as Father Westley. Additionally, songstress Julee Cruise, who performed music during the original run of “Twin Peaks,” has signed on to perform the PSYCH Theme Song for the episode. The landmark series, that fashioned a widespread cult following, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.Find lots more photos here.

Cuz Psych is pretty awful.

Also good as a Clarence Boddicker crony (the one operating the junkyard magnet) on RObocop.

Twin Peaks = One of the best shows ever produced. Psych = May be on that same road... So, colour me excited.

Hmm, disagree 100% there. Love the dialogue between Spencer and Gus. Excellent stuff; great writing. I can't fathom anyone who's watched it enough to give it a chance being disappointed.

Too bad they couldn't get Agent Cooper himself, but it looks like a strong reunion cast, and Ray Wise was great on Psych last year (I love when he's NOT a bad guy).
Nov. 9, 2010, 2:16 p.m. CST
Yes, it's so obviously produced in Canada that even South American tribes untouched by civilization wouldn't mistake the setting for Santa Barbara. But almost every episode has some great, laugh-out-loud back-and-forth moments between Shawn and Gus.
Nov. 9, 2010, 2:22 p.m. CST
I'm not saying it's bad, but nothing I would watch every week. It's just an okay show to watch when there is nothing better on.
Also the star of this show wrote SKINWALKERS, one of the worst werewolf movies ever!
Nov. 9, 2010, 2:35 p.m. CST
It is a great show that keeps on chugging. You either like the dialog between Shawn and Gus or you don't. Both my wife and I love it and while we miss Monk, we love that Psych is still around.
Some of the tribute episodes have been simply great and I expect this one will follow suit.

Surprised that someone remembered it was the 20th Anniversary and happy someone is actually doing something. I watch Psych off and on, so I'll clear my calendar for this episode.

...no longer really qualifies as a "beauty". I assume the same can be said of Sheryl Lee as well. Also, Lara Flynn Boyle has become a stick insect.

...that poor man's Michael Cera, the fat goofy guy and Missy Peregrym (drool!) for a Reaper reunion.

But always hoped back in the day they would have done a Twin Peaks/X-Files crossover (complete with Duchovny doing double duty as both Special Agent Fox Mulder and Agent Denise/Dennis Bryson) to give some TP closure.
a man can dream

Californication? So I guess that was a mini-reunion.

This news just made my day. Glad to see the young whippersnappers haven't forgotten the show that rocked 1990 and hasn't been topped since.
Nov. 9, 2010, 6:32 p.m. CST
Is one of those shows that is likable and kinda funny, but never really compelling enough for me to remember to tune in.
Nov. 9, 2010, 6:43 p.m. CST
But I'll watch it just for this. What is it like? A Eureka or a low budget Criminal Minds?
Nov. 9, 2010, 6:48 p.m. CST
And they should at least walk past a room where Kyle McLachlan is staring into the mirror saying "How's Annie?" over and over again. Eh, I'm not gonna watch it anyway.
Nov. 9, 2010, 7:54 p.m. CST
Yep, never watched the show in my life; but I'll fork over the dough for A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G Twin Peaks related. No questions asked. And no, children, don't even try to compare the crapfest that was Lost to Twin Peaks. Just. Do. Not.

she went from classic, stunning 20 something that should have been the next elizabeth taylor, to obscurity, to a sexy older woman...man those glasses are a good look.

I hope the Michael J Anderson makes an appearance as well. It would be a real shame to have Psych miss the opportunity to have him visit Sean or Gus in a dream.
Nov. 9, 2010, 11:36 p.m. CST
And hot! Love Psych. We can watch it with the whole family, and know we will have lots of laughs.

Nov. 10, 2010, 6:13 a.m. CST
And I couldn't give a fuck about Psych!
Nov. 10, 2010, 7:01 a.m. CST
...of TP, but have never seen Psych. Always considered it to be "the show that follows Monk that I 've heard is ok, but I'll never watch." That will change on Dec. 1st. Love me some Twin Peaks.
Nov. 10, 2010, 8:07 a.m. CST
He played a guy called The Captain, who sang show tunes and loved boats. I expect him to be a recurring character. They do need him on Psych to make it work, but it sounds like HIMY might have gotten there first.
Nov. 10, 2010, 8:11 a.m. CST
is pretty damned priceless, given the TP theme.
You know I have (or had) a poster of Madchen Amick as Shelley the Waitress from 20 years ago. Maybe I need to see if it is as hot as I remember. Twin Peaks had THE HOTTEST female cast ever, with the possible exception of the log lady. Still, if you throw the log-lady on the pile with Machen, Sheryl, Sherylin and Norma... Hell, even Piper Laurie still had it going on then. Also this was during the brief time that Lara Flynn Boyle was hot.

While I may agree I THINK it has lost some steam from the first 2 great seasons.. they still pull some GREAT episodes out every single season. The Hitchcock inspired "Mr. Yin Presents" was great.. as was "Tuesday the 17th".. HELL . THAT felt more like something to honor "Friday" than the ACTUAL remake.. Roday EVEN shows up on the doc "His Name Was Jason" he was and is obviously a BIG fan of the series, and the episode showed. While it may not be a serial along the lines of "Lost" its just one of those GREAT shows I LOVE to wait for from week to week. James Roday, if he played it right, COULD be the next Bruce Willis type of actor.. Seriously he reminds me ALOT of David Addison from "Moonlighting" just more.. slackery.. lol. Was wondering HOW Ray Wise was coming back, glad they aren't doing a 2 character thing.. then again, maybe the priest has another personality.. hahaha. Wise's "Exorcist" tribute episode.. also EXCELLENT as was the "American Werewolf in London" nod with David McNaughton. IF you haven't seen the show.. there are a few great ones in there.. check'em out. TONIGHT'S is the return of famous cat burglar Desperaux starring Cary Elwes, a sequel to "Extradition: British Columbia" entitled "Extradition 2: The Actual Extradition Part".. Can't wait.. and hope they wrap up the whole Yin/Yang storyline in this run...
Nov. 10, 2010, 11:38 a.m. CST
but I'll be watching this for sure.

"Psych" is always entertaining. It's silly fun that's not meant to be taken seriously. Much like Sam and Dean on "Supernatural", Shawn and Gus have really great chemistry that keeps the show going. I'm excited to see the new episodes that start tonight.

...for a proper, Lynch-led TP reunion/sequel then I'm all for it. And Itchy, judging from the dugpa pics Sherilyn Fenn is *still* hot!
