Ain't It Cool News is pleased to be giving away six RoboGeisha prize packs, including a DVD or Blu-ray of the Japanese splatterstick movie - set to be released in North America by FUNimation on November 16th, a poster and a sticker.
Written and directed by Noboru Iguchi (The Machine Girl) with effects from Yoshihiro Nishimura (Tokyo Gore Police), RoboGeisha movie features a wannabe geisha who must stop the egomaniacal industrialist who turned her into a cybernetic entertainer of men/killing machine; and, it features plenty of blood and other fluids splattering the screen, weapons disconcertingly attached to or coming out of parts of the human anatomy, tanks tank transformations, exposed brains, and other naughtiness.
To win one of these RoboGeisha prize packs, send an e-mail, along with your postal address, DVD/Blu-ray preference and the subject line "RoboGeisha" to animecontest@gmail.com (it's not anime, but that's my contest email address) by Midnight, November 27, 2010.
US residents/mailing addresses only please. (Sorry, for the restriction.)

These cheaply shot, cheaply produced, cheaply written, and just overall ass-suckingingly terrible films just need to stop being made. I love Japanese cinema, but this stuff is just pure fanboy pandering with no thought to creativity, and i fucking hate them. American companies would do better to licence other stuff. Big lols however for the ass-stabbing sword scene in the trailer.
-
whut.
-
...fucked up or what!?
-
I'm a big fan of Tokyo Gore Police and The Machine Girl. There's definitely a place for these types of movies.RoboGeisha however is not only NOT gory, but is overall bad. I'm not talking about "it's so bad it's good", I'm telling you that the movie is so bad it's bad. All of the good scenes are in the trailer - end of story. I was very dissappointed in this movie.

back in the 50's, the 60's and the 70's?

"remember when Japan made great films?"They still do. and Japan always made wacky strange weird movies like ROBOGHEISHA and TOKYO GORE POLICE, evne before they were as extreme as they are today. But there was always extreme movies made in Japan together with the classy stuff made by Ozu and Kurosawa.
-
... then i'll like it. I really liked TOKYO GORE POLICE. Take that, all of thouse who think i can only like high-brow stuff. There's an honesty and purity to TGP in the middle of all that craziness that i can't help but enjoy and love.
-
I own Machine Girl and thought it was crazy..but I kinda dug it,..I really liked Tokyo Gore Police and own that as well..But then again I also have a strange liking to Meatball Machine as well.I dont know I kinda give these movies a pass..

Even if I could, which I can't because its yet another fucking US only one.
"Sorry for the restriction"
Yeah right, I bet you are, I bet you are pissing yourself laughing about just how so fucking clever it is to run US only comps...Ho Fucking Ho.
Hopefully I'll be able to bribe Ewe Boll to have another rematch with you bastards and he will beat the seven shades of shite out of all of you bar of course Harry as he will be sticking his head up Stallones arse hole, chewing on his big fat turds and thanking him like a lap dog.
Sigh, did that come across as angry??
Nah, looks ok to me.... -
If this were in English, with say wanna be Bunny Ranch girls, no one would buy into it. But it's Asian so it's cool? I'll never ever trust my Asian film loving geek friends again! What a complete load of childish nonsense this was.
-
..but could not get through 'geisha after watching the first 6 mins.I still have Gore poice somewhere buried in my netflix queue, but have more interesting options lined up.This is beyond guilty pleasure viewing as i can recommend much better Japanese flicks that this offering.
-
I, for one know that you're not just into esoteric films. After all you loved Escape from LA which I have panned so many times.

Hello, top of my Netflix list! The whispering narrator wasn't that good, but the rest of these trailers were awesome! I mean, just when you think they couldn't come up with original ways for people to die - prawns to the eyes! Armpit swords to the throat! Buzzsaw mouth kiss! And man, what do we have here in Hollywood? Saw 7 (or is it 8?). Skyline rip-off of ID4. Vampire remakes of foreign films not even two years old. Maybe those films aren't really comparable for their budgets though.... I guess the closest thing that might compare would be what, Zombie Strippers? Meh. Hobo with a Shotgun? Well..... that might be pretty fun actually. But the bulk are remade unoriginal crap! Bring on the ass-sword wielding, buzzsaw faced, lactating Robo Geishas!!
-
They would produce a movie like this! I wonder if QT ouwld like this.... I know he digs things like Revenge of the Cheerleaders. Similar? ......okay maybe not.
-
still recovering

well that's good news and bad news. The good; available on netflix instant streaming very soon. The bad: english dubbed! KHHAAAAAANNNNNN!!
