Amazing after all this time.
-
WHy make this essentially a two parter? I have loved all the two parter episodes, but the whole coon things blows. And the idiot inception parody beforehand? Weakest season yet.
-
Not as much this time as the first time, but it's kinda felt that way about the last few eps.
But every long running show ebbs creatively at some point. The flow will return, the flow will return!

-
Hopefully, Matt and Trey get back on their game.
-
written as Clyde, given the first Coon episode.

But I have a sneaking suspicion that Matt and Trey will simply not adhere to their own continuity, and throw everyone a freaky curveball with Mysteron's identity. Much as how they recently went back to the whole Cartman's Mother is his father thing.
-
Just throwing that out there.
-
i always prounounced it 'KiITHooloo' but last week they were pronouncing it 'KiTooloo', which is right? Is there a scratchy recording of HP Lovecraft somewhere, an early 20th book on tape that will help us decide?
-
Lovecraft said that "the first syllable [of Khlul'-hloo is] pronounced gutturally and very thickly. The u is about like that in full; and the first syllable is not unlike klul in sound, hence the h represents the guttural thickness."
-
...has seemed pretty obvious. I mean, isn't Mysterion really Kenny?
-
I've already said I think Clyde falling asleep all the time in the first Coon episode showed that it was supposed to be him. Why exactly do you think it's Kenny?
-
Known

Coon: Cartman
Toolshed: Stan
Iron Maiden: Timmy
Tupperware: Token

Suspected

Human Kite: Bradley
Mintberry Crunch: Kenny
Mosquito: Kyle
Mysterion: Clyde

Mosquito makes sense as Kyle because (1) the nose joke, (2) Cartman beats him up, albeit with weapons

Mintberry Crunch makes sense as Kenny because (1) blonde hair, (2) he drinks water when the kids are drinking shakes (Kenny has frequently done this in the past)
-
I thought seeing him sneek out after the alarm and then he wasn't at the meeting meant he was mysterion?
-
I'll have a stroke, it's so bad/awesome.
-
There are only two members of the main cast not easily identified in Cartman's group, Kyle and Kenny. Kyle wouldn't be a part of anything Cartman headed up, so the only other explanation is Kenny. Plus, it makes sense because Kenny's voice is usually muffled by his parka and without it, he finally gets to talk properly.
-
he installed "Coon Alert" systems in all the houses. and yes Kyle is The Mosquito
-
...of all the kids, Kenny seems to be the cool one. He's the most street smart of the bunch. Mintberry Crunch is just to lame for Kenny. Mysteron is the only 'cool' hero. (except Iron Maiden of course)
-
here's my reasoning. When the first Coon alarm goes off in Stan's house it cuts to Toolshed (Stan) walking into the Coon's HQ
The next time the Coon alarm goes off it's in Kenny's house and it cuts to Mysterion walking into the Coon's HQ
now granted this could all be a swerve, but what if Kenny/Mysterion dies whilst stopping Cthulu
and Kyle I'm pretty sure is The Mosquito
-
British guy doing a fake Batman voice. He can trash Cartman's lights.
-
and I think the Kite is Kyle (think about it) BECAUSE Cartman beat up the Mosquito. Kyle and Cartman fought before, Kyle hit him once and it was over. Besides, I don't see Kyle suggesting a bake sale as a way to help.
-
I agree with you both, and the idea that Mysterion is Kenny with the power of resurrection is the best ever!
-
I'll eat Meg's hat if it is. Kenny is Mintberry Crunch, that's kinda obvious since his costume is really cheap and Kenny is poor (plus the kid is blond). Mysterion makes sense as Kyle, since he objects a lot with Cartman's ideals. To even suggest The Mosquito is Kyle would be crazy, because Kyle would have fought back. On several occasions the two have fought and Kyle has never backed down, so why would he let himself get beatup? Mysterion is either Kyle or Clyde. Finally, uhmmmm I guess this would be a reveal to us the viewers since the whole town already knows who Mysterion is right?
-
But Varakor makes a good argument.
Mysterion is Kyle.
-
I think David Cloverfield got it. It's Kenny and his power is resurrection.
-
watch part 1 again
-
The reason he didn't fight back against the coon, was the coon had weapons. (Claws on his hands.)

Mosquito also had the sensible suggestion (bake sale) which is typical of Kyle when Cartman suggests something idiotic.
-
Coon: Cartman
Toolshed: Stan
Iron Maiden: Timmy
Tupperware: Token
Human Kite: Kyle
Mintberry Crunch: Bradley
Mosquito: Clyde
Mysterion: Kenny
-
Kenny may be Mysterion but I think that's what Matt & Trey want us to think, and I don't think he is Mintberry crunch either. Those of you saying his voice is usually muffled have a point but there have been a couple of eps in the past where you hear his voice ("The Jeffersons" for one) and I don't think he sounds like M.C. Hmm...we shall see...
-
CTHULHU FHTAGN!
-
KYLE ISN'T MYSTERION In the first episode featuring the character Kyle and Mysterion are in the same room talking to eachother. So, there goes that theory.
-
WENDY!
-
Have we seen Mysterion and Butters in the same place? I can't remember if Mysterion confronted Professor Chaos last season or was present when they had him held in the cage. I could see them going that route like the bumbling Clark Kent to the super Superman.
-
can't be Butters, Prof. Chaos was in the cage and had been there for days he said (because his poop bucket was full) and I believe Mysterion was in the same room at that point
It just better not be some random char. that has no name because Matt and Trey thought that'd be funny
-
Muhammed in a FU to comedy central( I can only hope)
-
Once he puts on the hood, he is no longer cripple. Or he isn't cripple at all. He just fakes it to protect his secret identity.
-
Isn't Kyle obviously The Mosquito? Though I admit it's odd if that's the case since Cartman kicked his ass and he usually does not get the better of Kyle.
-
Doesn't that sound like a suggestion that would come froma girl? And, since Mysterion arose as competition to the Coon, it makes sense that it is Wendy besting Cartman once again.
-
The Mosquito is Clyde - listen to how he talks, specifically the things he says. Clyde is always portrayed as being a bit dumb. Kyle is the Human Kite. Stan is Toolshed. Token is Tupperware. Mint Berry Crunch is Bradley. Timmy is Iron Maiden. So that means it has to be Kenny who is Mysterion. And it can't be Kyle because we see him talk to Mysterion in "The Coon".
-
In last week's episode, we see all the boys out of costume in the same room. Stan says something about how they've got to help the people in the Gulf and then we cut to each of the boys leaving the house in costume. And the number of characters is the same number as the boys we see before, so one of the boys IS Mysterion. It has to be Kenny - as people keep pointing out, Cartman would never get the best of Kyle in a fight so Kyle is not Mosquito, it's Clyde - cos he's a wimpy character and so is Mosquito.
-
i wonder if they'll reference the dark knight tonight or maybe the tim burton batman films which are the best batman flicks anyway
-
They already have referenced them - the episode is called "Mysterion Rises", in a week where the title of the next Batman flick as been announced as "The Dark Knight Rises". That's about as blatant a reference as you could get :P
-
"This just in, Matt & Trey to phone it in at the last minute after a week of getting blitzed and shirking responsibility. Cartman will be an unapologetic, over-the-top cunt. Fans expected to rejoice."
-
Kenny is NOT Mintberry Crunch, and that Kyle is Kite.
-
but it would have been awesome if Mysterion strips away the pale 'face' part instead of the black hood, and we see that it was Token. Alas..
-
...that always get stuff wrong? Like wearing a Star Wars costume when all the other kids are LOTR characters? He would make a great Mintberry Crunch.
-
Wearing a white-face mask under the cowl. So are either Token and Wendy possibilities? Kenny is simply too obvious. I suspect he's a red herring.

But Parker could also be jacking with us here -- Mysterion could be primarily one kid, who has an accomplice who wears the costume so the two can appear together in front of witnesses.
-
Like, one of the Goth kids could be him. Overall, though, I am expecting a very contrived reveal and explanation as to who Mysterion is.
-
January is when the studios typically dump movies that they see no chance of succeeding.
-
AICN only cares about getting hits.
-
He could be this *idea* that any of the kids can assume and become whenever the need fits, sort of like a Keyser Sose among the SP kids. But is this too brainy, pseudo-intellectual for the show
-
never got what the big deal was. not to mention, trey parker and matt stone are f*cking as*holes. seriously.
-
Nice.
-
But, of course.
-
Fucking awesome.
-
So Mysterion is Kenny! Awesome!
-
Nicely done.
-
Hahaha! Guess Kyle didn't get whupped by Cartman last week!
-
is nuts.
-
They really hit their stride last week and this week was even better.
-
I am honestly enjoying this one like I did the original early seasons.
-
The Mysterion reveal was brilliant... And explaining his "power" was even more so...
-
on Kenny and Clyde. Clyde I suspected but Kenny as Mysterion? Well let's just say Meg's hat taste a lot like a white castle burger after three days... in the sun... Tonight was a great show! Way better than I had expected.
-
Fucking epic.
Is Cthulhu... Falcor?
-
Good call.
-
makin' baby-talk to Cthulhu and then having Him at a presser to announce the creation of "Coon & Friend" nuts.
Also, all these years, Kenny was aware that he keeps coming back! He should call himself Groundhog Man! Only no one would get the reference.
-
of the theme from my neigbour totoro
-
They need their own series. I'd watch that **** every week.
-
Funnier that way.

That was a weird ass episode. Well the parts with Eric and Cthulu.
-
Now that was a good episode.
-
Seriously these guys just nailed it. The LeBron joke killed me. Seriously great stuff. The haters can go blow it, more jealous nerd hate. South Park still stands as one the best comedies on tv. They have the balls to go after anyone and I love it. This episode was great.
-
Epic indeed. Loved the reveal and way they worked Kenny's "power".
-
It's nice to see Trey and Matt finding the groove again. This episode was gold! I hope we get Part III next week to wrap the season up nicely.
-
Haven't seen him do anything in a few years. Kinda like Officer Barbrady and Tweek.
I think Pip might be Mintberry Crunch.
-
Am I the only one getting the feeling like they are trying to wrap up the show soon? I thought there was this bittersweet feel to the show, and I wouldn't be surprised if Trey Parker and Matt Stone were still upset about eps 200 and 201. I may be overreacting, considering the show is still under contract through 2011, but it seems like it is winding down to me. I like the story arc though.

Nice Clockwork Orange and My Nieghbor Totoro references
by Tikidonkeypunch
-
i had sort of the same feeling you did. i mean to answer a big question like kenny being unable to die almost seems final. maybe next year will be the end, who knows. it's gotta still hurt matt and trey the way comedy central fucked them over earlier this year. there still not able to show 201 not even on the website.
-
Pip's dead. They killed him a few years ago. And he's not coming back. He's no Mysterion/Kenny.
-
Where you at dude? :P
-

I think They killed Pip in the 200th episode. Barbura crushed hi
by David Cloverfield
This Kenny is Cthulhu's son arc is crazy.
-
Saw it this morning. (European timezone, obviously).

It's brilliant, and while I still maintain it was Clyde in the original Coon episode, (it's a talkbackers nature to be contrarian) it's a brilliant idea to put Kenny's resurrection power into the Cthulhu mythos.

I'd like to see this 3 parter on a DVD, with the original Coon episode. In time for Christmas, though that probably won't happen.
-
Several years ago, and it was a lot funnier then.
-
The parents keep giving birth to Kenny, and he's quickly placed in bed where he wakes up the next morning. Now there's just a possible back story as to why they still give birth to him such as the cult did this to the parents.

Still, that was an awesome episode. I think people are going to mistake the Tonari no Totoro reference with The Neverending Story though.
-
Busting on LeBron "The Decision" James' douchey attempt to rebuild his fanbase after stabbing the city of Cleveland and Cavs fans nationwide in the back on an ESPN primetime special was totally deserved. And to weave it in with BP Oil? Genius.
-
During the alley/stabbing scene of Mysterion, we get the classic "Oh my God! They killed Kenny!... You Bastards!" line always delivered by Stan and Kyle. However, when the 7 Coon Friends (minus Cartman) are shown all together without their costumes, Kyle (with his huge red frizzy hair) is CLEARLY not among any of the 7 kids. But, as I mentioned earlier, the "They killed Kenny line..." was delivered by Stan and Kyle in the alley. Really confused... Am I missing something here?!?!?
-
...time to get new writers...
-
Anyone else confirm?
-
Confirmed!
I wasn't overly keen on last week, but really enjoyed the new episode. The Lebron dig was truly inspired.
-
V'Shael, I also thought Kyle was the Kite but, as I mentioned in an earlier post, when the kids came out of Cartman's basement without their costumes, there was no kid with Kyle's huge, red frizzy hair among them. Or did I just miss it???
-
I would believe, because of the delivery of the "you bastards!" line, plus Kyle is the one with the computer skills (when the kids were lookin up the Necronomicon <sp> it's Kite at the computer)
-
I wouldn't be half surprised if Mint Berry Crunch and Tupperware end up being Kyle and Stan, just to mess with the fans.
-
That last episode they referred to BP as DP, and in this episode they referred to BP as BP? With everything South Park has made fun of over the years, it seems kind of stupid to censor by changing DP to BP. Wonder if BP said something to Comedy Central.
-
In the episode from 2 weeks ago, BP changed their name to DP (Double Penetration) after the second accident. Look closely at the graphic they had of the Earth with 2 giant drills in it. Then again when they drilled on the moon. Looks like a sex act to me.
-
Nov. 4, 2010, 4:02 p.m. CST
It's Mysterion not Mysteron, so no Captain Scarlet reference.
by V'Shael
And didn't they call it BP/DP in this episode?
-

At first I though Mint berry crunch sounded like butters
by RedBull_Werewolf
I really thought I was gonna get a mindfuck, or like multiple universe thingy. I loved the episode though, Cartman flying Chitulu like the dragon from never ending story was the best, I really hope we get a part 3
-
the Cartman scenes were great.
-
and this is all for a padded out dvd...put this show out of our misery.
-
Go watch Family Guy you douche!
-
...were having a ball with that episode. 'I can't die' was one of the great SP moments.
-
Clam down. It was a good ep. Good for you for figuring it out last week. I was too high with my friends. But anyways, I thought it was killer how they finally talked all about the Kenny dying every ep gag which was really cool to see him talk about. Oh and I think Mysterion might have been Kenny shhhh.
-
STFU SGU sucks go bother people who give a shit.
-
I love me some funny South Park, but this episode once again proved that the show is probably most entertaining when they spend more time on a (completely whack!) plot than on recurring gags. Loved the Kenny reveal, and yes, it fits in perfectly well with his previously revealed "weekly rebirth". In fact, that Mysterion character works ten times better than most of the shit that went down on Heroes.
Btw, anyone know who drew the comic panels? Was that also P/S? Liked the style...
