Hey, Scott Green of AICN Anime here. This week, I have the pleasure of running a promotion outside my regular AICN domain. Daniel Alfredson's adaptation of The Girl Who Played With Fire,the second book in the Millennium trilogy that Stieg Larsson began with Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, hits DVD in North America today (October 26th). The adaptation of the third book, The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets’ Nest, hits theatres this Friday (October 29th). THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE -- Synopsis: Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) is a wanted woman. A researcher and a Millennium journalist about to expose the truth about the sex trade in Sweden are brutally murdered, and Salander’s prints are on the weapon. Her history of unpredictable and violent behavior makes her an official danger to society. Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist), Salander’s friend and Millennium’s publisher, is alone in his belief of Salander’s innocence. Digging deeper, Blomkvist unearths evidence implicating highly placed members of Swedish society – as well as shocking details about Salander’s past. He is desperate to get to her before she is cornered– but no one can find her anywhere. The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets’ Nest – Synopsis: the final installment of the “Millennium Trilogy” – Lisbeth Salander is fighting for her life in more ways than one. In intensive care and charged with three murders, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those corrupt government institutions that very nearly destroyed her life. Once upon a time, she was a victim. Now Salander is fighting back. In honor of these releases, AICN has a prize pack to give away that includes a Noomi Rapace (Lisabeth Salander) signed THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNETS’ NEST theatrical poster, THE GIRL WITH DRAGON TATTOO and THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE DVDs and copies of all three Millennium Trilogy books. To win a the prize pack: Take a picture of your geeky/AICN relevant tattoo. If you don't have a tattoo, feel free draw a facsimile in ink that will wash off (or ink that wouldn't, your preference). Include something saying "Ain't It Cool News" in the shot, so we know that the picture wasn't just grabbed from online.
