Learn Which LOST Vet Serves As JUSTIFIED’s Season-Two Villain!! Hint: Not That Hurley Guy!!
I am – Hercules!!
The great Jeremy Davies, who played time-hopping physicist Daniel Faraday on “Lost,” has been cast as a key season-two villain on FX’s “Justified,” last season’s best new series.
Davies will play Dickie Bennett, a marijana kingpin who still bears a crippling injury inflicted by a teen Raylan Givens.
Davies’ big-screen credits include “Spanking The Monkey,” “Twister,” “Saving Private Ryan,” “Secretary,” “Solaris,” “Rescue Dawn” and “It’s Kind of A Funny Story.”
Boyd Crowder, the season-one villain played by Walton Goggins, is now a good guy thanks to his embrace of Our Savior Jesus Christ.
“Justified’s” 13-episode second season launches in February.

This is the best news ever!!! Look! Over there! A little beetle! That's amazing!
-
Third rate Anthony Perkins clone
-
That really cool character with all the time-travel alternate-reality theories that were building to something brilliant all throughout Lost Season 6... something like a really cool science-fiction climax (which Lost had been heading purposefully and superbly towards since the whole Dharma Days '70s japes) which would have made complete dramatic and narrative sense as both a conclusion and explosive climax until... until... It was revealed a gigantic waste-of-season COCKTEASE because the writers PUSSIED OUT AND SERVED UP A USESS, SHITTY ENDING and an even worse bullshit coda to explain a season's worth of story. Yes. I'm still fucking bitter alright? Five seasons of never-bettered tv, shat on by a complete clusterfuck of a sixth.
-
While I liked him on Lost, and in Private Ryan, he's got a certain method of acting that is fairly annoying.

Let's count how many times he says "yeahhh...".
-
I doubt Boyd is truly a good guy, though. That would be boring.

It would be fun if they bring in the Miami marshals at some point.
-
...cause it's a cool ass show!
-
Up for Quaid in for the redo of Total Recall.
-
I believe that was supposed to read "season-two" villain. He's a decent enough actor, but he doesn't "look" like someone who would be in that neck of the woods. BTW, the season finale was probably the best season finale of ANY series in the last few years.
-
I hope Raylan crippled him for actually saying Subaru is like punk rock.
-
I usually find him annoying and mannered in most of his roles (e.g. Ravenous, Solaris), but it's Justified, so the showrunners know what they're doing. But no way is Boyd a "good" guy now...not entirely
-
is to see some of Leonard's other characters show up. Gugino needs to appear as Karen Sisco or Michael Keaton as Ray Niccolette
-
was the real first season bad guy....not Boyd
-
Solaris and Justified... that makes up for Lost!
-
...played by a LOST vet...M.C. Gainey who played Tom Friendly of The Others. Coincidence?
-
he kicked ass in Justified.
-
If Boyd had actually been killed in the premier, as Herc reported he was supposed to. Wasnt Shawn Ryan making a show centered around Goggins, whatever happened to that?
-
Can't wait for season 2.
-
I have to be honest, Raylan is one of the best characters on TV......but if you would have made an argument at the end of last season that Boyd was an even better, cooler, more interesting character, I'm not saying I would have agreed, but I wouldnt have tried to talk you out of it. Also, the single best season finale of any show in years, the ultimate in bad ass, ass whipping payoff.
-
if someone just made a show of Boyd Crowder walking the Earth like David Carridine from Kung Fu, getting into adventures, trying to stay on the righteous path and kicking ass, that could well have the potential to be the best show in the history of TV. Just sayin.
-
you know exactly what character you're going to get. and i don't see that character fitting into the "Justified" universe.
-
There's only been 13 episodes. I don't think it's been set in stone what kind of show it is. I mean, for the first half of season one, the stories were mostly self-contained. There wasn't a real story arc until later in the season. Olyphant is awesome as Raylan Givens. That's pretty much all that's been established.
-
...after having to seeing Charlie Hunnam's ass multiple times on Sons of Anarchy, FX should require a Ava nude scene to even things out a bit. I think we're currently sitting at four Jax nude scenes, so either we get four with Ava, or one nice extended shot of her frying chicken in her birthday suit.
-
Yep.
-
that the light is different in Kentucky.
Time definitely runs different there too.
-
I LOVE the show.. I was never into "Deadwood" I actually thought Olyphant was a great actor outside of them.. his manic crazy Mickey in "Scream 2" (I thought he was hysterical.. and just "got" the tone), his drug dealer in "Go" and his skeevy porn actor turned director in "The Girl Next Door" (go ahead and blast me but he was the BEST part of that movie.. even though I STILL do enjoy it, for the Risky Business clone it is). But Walton Goggins.. what can you say? after that HEARTBREAKING awesome arc on the final season of "The Shield".. to this? just.. whoa. I mean granted.. he's playing a similar country character.. but something in the casting, just makes me think that Boyd is NOT the good guy he appears to be.although physically speaking when I read some of Leonard's books.. I always pictured (and Goggins would fit this mold too) someone more like Nick Searcy, Steve Buscemi.. kind of balding. and well, to be honest, kind of goofy looking. I could have sworn that was in "Pronto" even.. I just remember very distinctly thinking Steve Buscemi as Raylen. (this was in '97 or so I was thinking this). Can't wait to see what they cook up for season 2.. I liked the "of the week" stories, cause it fits just the life of the character.. and they had some GREAT guest stars, Alan Ruck though being my favorite.

a.k.a. the scariest movie ever made, other than maybe The Crying Game
-
Sorry, but if you want the all-time greatest season finale in history you need to see SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND. There is no equal.
-
It's almost too depressing to think about, especially after how good the first few seasons were.
-
I wish everyone would just shut the fuck up about it already. It was perfect. I wept like a little girl. It was what the show was always about. Not four toes or smoke monsters or anything. Love. Faith. Living and dying together. You didn't like it? Cry me a river.
-
Sorry, it was also about Thermos bottle caps / butt plugs holding in something or the other. I get your point, but the mythological underpinnings of the story were ultimately so hazily, lazily sketched in that the total effect was undermined. In other words, Cuse and Lindelof wanted to be both specific about the details they could fully envision, and vague about the rest, and the result is always gonna be dissatisfying to a lot of people. It bespeaks creators with much less than full control of their creation. I didn't hate it as much as a lot, but it could've been much, much better. And thus ends my last ever statement on Lost.
-
I'm pretty sure those 13 episodes took place in the same general geographical region, and based on Davies' usual performance, I don't see how he can play a character who belongs there - unless he gets his ass kicked all day.
-
Give me my fair share of naked Tara Booty Sherm, and you got yourself a trade.

Tara's got such a SMOKIN' body it is UNREAL. Give me some clear booty and booby shots of her and I'm in heaven.
-
Wynona was the most smokin piece of ass on television last season. My god, she destroyed me. Her fucking tossled, messy "just got having sex" hair...wow. That woman, Natalie zea, she is fucking smoking hot. I never really it the Ava obsession. She's fine, no doubt, but she's not incredible or anything. Wynona, in my opinion, is incredible. If I married her, and she left me like raylon, it would haunt me, as it does him, for life. She's astounding
-
Was that a character on justified? I don't recall. I still bet Wynona was hotter. Just hope you aren't talking tara on true blood. Cause...ugh
-
You wept, you played the damn Niagara Falls over that stupid Lost finale.
We... simply didn't like that cop out!
We loved the rest of the show, though, El Stupido!
'Nuff said!
-
Cause we aren't allowed to be different an like different things. I don't think it was a cop out. At all. So I'm stupid? You're clearly a very open minded, thoughtful human being. I wept. It was honest. It's what I felt. Deal with it tough guy
-
...in a very, very bad way!
-
TB's have been becoming sooo nice, lately.
No real offense, Brutha!
-
Thanks, that "Justified" CAN'T have a "Cop out" ending... can it?
-
I expect more action. I hope the 2nd season cranks it up.
-
Let it go, you whiney pussy. You are the embodiment of everything that is wrong with this site, but also fandom in general. Get a grip.
-
That movie was awesome. Fuckwhatchaheard.
-
and forgot how memorable Mr. Davies was in that movie. Yes I know thats an oxymoron. Can he exude menace though? Didn't he play a young Norman Bates once, or am I confusing him with Henry Thomas?
-
I'm happy with this.

Saw Twister on cable a few weeks agao...
by HarryKnowlesNonExistentInceptionReview
...and there was Davies, even then playing his usual "frazzled grad student" role. Guy still looks the same, too... exactly the same as if those 16 years had been only 1 or 2. Weird. Philip Seymour Hoffman was there, too as the "party animal grad student". PSH, though, looks like he's lived 2 years for every one of those 16. But Helen Hunt... damn... she looks like something Dr. Hawas dug up out of an ancient Egyptian tomb at this point. Sad, really. Oh, and btw: the Lost finale killed the entire series. I can never even watch one of the good episodes again, and I've tried. It remains to be seen whether I can ever watch anyone who ever had a role in Lost in anything else ever again as well.
-
For this suggestion alone, Shermdawg gets my nod to be story editor on all future episodes. I couldn't agree more!
-
Always reminds me of when you step in dog crap and try and clean it off but there's always a nasty little remnant stuck in the crevices in the tread that hangs about and smells for a while.

........
-
This shit is dooming this show, the last 3rd of the season was mired in this small town where apparently everybody's in the redneck mafia and fucked someone over. JUST GET THE CHARACTERS BACK TO WORK! Not everybody has to be involved with everybody else to be compelling.
-
sucked. Final season sucked mostly. On Island, the finale was pretty good. But the sideways fucked the dog. My most hated plotpoint in any TV show ever. Slo-mo hugging does not a godd ending make

Loving the idea of Davies on Justified though. And Natalie Zea is super smokin gorgeous
-
was perfect. ill say it again and again. i dont even care
-
My problem with the LOST ending is: I DON'T BUY IT.

Sayid meeting Shannon in Heaven rather than Nadia, Rose entering the afterlife with Locke after repeatedly saying she wanted nothing to do with him, Charlie regressing back into druggie state, Juliet "imagining" being married to Jack and having a kid, Aaron being a baby again, Saywer and Miles being cops, the Island being sunk FOR NO REASON AT ALL, Christian Shepherd being an actual shepherd of Christians, but most of all, that all the characters can "create" this group consciousness for them all to "meet up and move on" without ANY explanation of why, how, or whether it has anythng whatsoever to do with the Island. There's no logical story reason for the sideways to begin with the plane landing OTHER than to misdirect the audience for a whole season. Bringing back characters like Keamy, Faraday and Charlotte was more misdirection. Arrrgh, months later and it still pisses me off.

For me it doesn't matter that Jack's story finished on Island quite well, or that some of the reunion scenes in the finale were quite affecting, because that final resolution was so mind-numbingly stupid it destroyed any positivity I had for the final season. LOST: five good/great seasons and one load of shite

And I'm not even touching on the golden cave or magic Island protector spells
-

-
I loved Lost except for that silly trick they played at the end with the alt-world. And I love Justified thus far.
-
Putting aside how incredibly overrated Saving Private Ryan is in general, I always hated his stupid character. Just way overdone in the Spielbergian fashion. Steve has his strong points and his weak points and one of the weak points is his overselling shit at times in a way that would make Oliver Stone blush. The scene with Davies's character mewling and pussing out was just ludicrously over-the-top.
-
Shouldn't be "good" nor "bad", and he's not. Hopefully if he returns they keep it ambiguous.
-
I think he's a genuine paranoid schizophrenic who got lucky with being typecast... kind of like the deaf girl from Jericho and Weeds.
