* MTV’s post-finale “Teen Mom Check-Up Special” beat half the show’s regular episodes this season, as well as 10 p.m. network competition “Parenthood” and “1-8-7.” * “No Ordinary Family” fell for the third week in a row, still matching the ABC sci-fi pattern we saw last season for “FlashForward” and “V.”

* FX's "Sons of Anarchy" plummeted to a 1.3, by far its lowest score since I began keeping track about a year ago. (Could this have something to do with Cablevision carriage issues?) * Syfy’s “SGU” matched its all-time low, as did “Caprica.” * “Parenthood” fell to a new all-time low as its network competition grew.

* “1-8-7” enjoyed a slight uptick, but still came in fifth place at 10 p.m. and remains one of ABC’s lowest-rated series. * With “Glee” and “Raising Hope” in repeats, “NCIS” and “NCIS LA” both hit their best scores since last winter. They beat everything on last night, including TBS’s big baseball game. * “Dancing With The Stars” hit a new season low. * “The Good Wife” caught its first uptick of the season and beat everything in its slot except baseball. This marks big comeback for the show, which was beaten by “Parenthood” all last spring and ended its first season with a 2.0.

For realz.

I want to like it, but the story is getting old and predictable. Rush hides some important info, the rest of the crew whines and moans. Hey SGU producers, this isn't Galatica. The crew needs a Sheridan type leader and the show needs a hero.
-
the problem with running wilde is that they don't trust the viewers. By that I mean that they write a joke and then they add one extra line after the joke to 'make sure' that the viewer catchers the joke. For instance, there was one moment where the neighbor was in the back of an suv spying on the characters with a set of binoculars and with a lip reader next to him... the last line of that joke is by the lip reader who says "shouldn't I be using the binoculars" which kills the joke--it was amusing to recognize it, but i don't want to feel like the writers are explaining why a joke is funny. (this specific joke wasn't that funny in the first place, but its the first example I could come up with off the top of my head).

Also, I just discovered Modern Family a few days ago... I'm LOVING it... the fizbo episode and the chain reaction of at the end had me rolling in laughter.

I think FX is still on Cablevision.
-
It is amazing, just AMAZING what a bad show SGU is. What the hell were they thinking? It is so derivative of BSG it's ridiculous. Only not a single interesting character. NOT ONE.
-
Racist Americans are refusing to watch!!!! You know it's true assholes!
I kid. Just filling in the blanks for that colossal moron Fareal.
I really enjoy this show. Well written and especially well acted and directed. Too bad people aren't watching. There's some good chemistry happening.
And Law & Order L.A isn't bad either. They capture the SoCal vibe pretty good which sets it apart from its predecessor.

I don't understand why everyone on these sites hates SGU so much. Sure, you're allowed to. But I find it to be riveting, well written and powerful and there is a positive character. It's Eli's story and always has been. Is it like Galactica? Only because it's on big spaceship and its grungy. I find the characters to be dimensionalized. This is what Voyager should have been. It's just my opinion, but I figured a positive voice should be heard now and then. On the other hand the Event eats my soiled sweatsocks.

Is Sci Fi on Syfy dead? SGU, Failed, Caprica, Failed, Smackdown

I wish more people were watching, It's very much in the arested Development spirit, but Not a total knock off. The charactersare all pretty funny and FOx should invest in the series and order a full season (hell, they kept til death on for like 5 fucking years and it was TV Cancer)
-
I really like it, and I actually think it has a lot more in common with LOST then it does BSG (aside from the space ship setting). Sometimes I wonder on AICN if anyone here likes any show or movies, every time I turn around people are hating on something. I don't expect everyone to like everything, but why? WHY??? do people watch and discuss shows they don't like????????? Seriously its downright bizarre. If I don't like a show, I don't watch it. Period. And I certainly don't waste my time, or those of other people by logging onto the internet to complain about it.
-
Having watched it off and on, it seems like the characters don't progress. Autistic mom is still neurotic and needs reasonable dad to step in. Lauren Graham's daughter still does stupid things and needs to be rescued, interrupting her quest for lovin'. Busy lawyer mom still makes her husband feel inadequate. Slacker dad still can't let go of slacker life. Pops still trying to corral the group into family things, but mostly gets blown off until the end of the episode when everyone realizes it's time for things to end on a good note and the evocative mood music starts playing.

Mind you, it's not a bad show, but not as good as FNL, which, of note, has just bombed as badly on basic cable in reruns as well.
-
on yesterday's episode. My life is complete.
-
"Castle," "SVU," "notFive-O" are steadily dropping.
Will the nets make changes?
If not, why not? Do they lack confidence in their ability to turn series around, or do they know that they lack talent?
-
Great show...I was thinking about joining a biker gang myself now...perhaps I'll bang a porn star later tonite to warm up?
-
The shield was stellar all around, not as stellar as The Wire but damn good. SoA is more on the guilty pleasure scale rather than a high quality show. They've milked the Abel storyline for the entire season, what a crock of shit. I'm sure the season will end great though, they just took too long to get to the really good stuff.
-
...Herc its been three weeks now since Fox pulled FX and NatGeo off dish in their pissing match. I've had to watch SAMCRO over the net.
-
I could have sworn this show (the original) was going to get cancelled, or did get cancelled a few years back before adding NCIS:LA.
-
SGU is boring, its missing everything Stargate IS... there's no humor, no action, and no stand up heroes.. and worse.. NO BAD GUYS. They took all the worst guest character ideas threw them on a ship together. The whole ship is full of RED SHIRTS. I was keeping up with it just to see if they'd change it up or if it would get better as time went on and the 2-parter with the Lucian Alliance was a GOOD Stargate storyline b/c surprise.. there was someone to FIGHT AGAINST. Of course I don't have cable anymore so I won't be seeing SGU's last episode for 30 days thanks to Hulu's new rules about episodes. Which means I'll just wait for it to hit instant watch on Netflix.

Stargate Universe
by OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWW
It's actually getting a little better. At least they finally got rid of the swappy stones back to Earth along with the 10 minutes of dear diary video blog entries. I'll keep on watching. This season is actually a lot better so far.
-
FX and a few other FOX owned channels haven't been on Dish Network for 3 weeks now. Is it off of Cablevision now too?
-
Good news, Caprica has remained pretty steady in ratings since its return. Bad news, it's almost impossible to dip any lower. =(
-
without the grand scope Battlestar could rely on, SGU is turning into Voyager, they've even got a rogue group of other characters now like the Maquis. I'm a Stargate fan, since way back from the original movie, what was great about it and SG1 is that it never took itself so damn seriously and was packed with adventure, wonder and fun. SGU has gotten too dark and lost the fun. However, I'll try to stick with it for now.
-
if I was all caught up. Why don't they release the dvd sets at the beginning of summer? That way I can catch up over the summer, and by fall we'll be ready to go.
-
finally the epsiode we've all been waiting for...they FINALLY left for Belfast. Lots of conflict & a few unprotected SAMCRO members left back in Charming though, Tig & Piney have a lot do now that everyone is FINALLY on the way Belfast. Killer cover of 'Travelin Band' at the end of the epsiode by The Forest Rangers who have done a ton of solid music work for this show.

I'm bored for 45 minutes of the show, and then something awesome happens after the last commercial that keeps me coming back the next week. Happens every damn episode. Not a winning formula.

His Fa'ad character is hilarious, the best thing about Running Wilde. If they changed the show to feature him and his rivalry with Arnett more then it would work. It's Russell who is slowing the show down. As it is, I still like RW, it's better than all those empty fluff sitcoms on ABC and CBS that get better ratings.

Watching Zoe avatar Copy #1 (remember that copy #2 is still dead in the robot) experience visions from an angel avatar of herself was a bit of a headf**k. But it was intriguing and brought back memories of the best of BSG.
Caprica's pending cancellation is undeserved. Particularly given that Sci Fi is willing to make crap like SGU and EUREKA.

EXCELLENT second season so far, even better than its wonderful first....
-
I'm not the biggest fan of the SyFy channel, but both SGU and CAPRICA are, despie their flaws, FAR better than the usual SyFy junk like WAREHOUSE 13, SANCTUARY, etc. Sadly, however, ratings show that viewers prefer the dumb shows. The channel has probably lost its more discriminating viewers over the years with bad programming and there are just not enough of them left to save SGU and CAPRICA.

They made some pretty good improvements over season 1. Now all they need to do now is kill of Choloe. She's the most useless character on the show.
-
...just have whatever happened to her turn her into an evil alien/human hybrid Borg-style. Then you get rid of her character after it becomes stale, SG-1 style.

I had to make a new user ID for this? Really? OK, I agree with posters that SGU is much better this season so far. I also agree that it is not the SG I enjoyed over the years NOR is it BSG. I will give it a bit longer since I like Dr. Rush but I doubt it will survive past this season. After that it will be more "Mega, Super, Ultimate Pirahna VS. Mega, Super, Ultimate Gorilla" Idiot Syphillis Channel.

I actually really enjoy SGU, despite its flaws. I think the problem people have is it's not "Stargate", at least not in the sense or SG1/Atlantis. I think that makes it much better. I couldn't stomach the camp and bravado of the other series, couldn't handle the incongruous wisecracks and unflappable, backslapping camaraderie between the characters. They were heroic paragons, and to me that is boring. But some people loved SG1/Atlantis, and wanted more of the same. They didn't want the flaws and edge and darker style of the new show. At the same time, it ain't BSG. It doesn't have a message. There's not moral to the story. If there is a greater purpose, it's not clear at this time. It's not going to tear your heart out with what characters go through. It's also not voyager. It isn't completely serialised. They've largely avoided the reset switch problem of episodic Sci-Fi, decisions have consequences, even if they tend to dial back the most dire situations. In the end, I think it actually captures the spirit of the original movie better than the past series. It's much more about flawed characters who are in over their heads, who can't understand just how boned they are. I'm not invested in it to the degree I was to BSG, but it earned a spot in my TV lineup.

Sorry but only Rush is developed and he's still written poorly!
Only thing that can save SGU now is getting Lt. James in bra n' panties and focus the ENTIRE series on her tits!!!
-
How is Fringe still on? Because it's a damn good show and the best thing that's happened to Science Fiction on Television in years! That's how!

theorised that his hallucinations were actually coming from the ship and that the ships AI was communicating with him. Robert Carlyle is such a good actor, that he could play all possibilities in a few seconds flat and make them ALL convincing.

Yes, they are the AI!
No, Rush is hallucinating.
Oh shit, Rush isn't just seeing things, he's actually completely fucking insane!!!
Oh no wait, they ARE the AI!
etc...

He is literally the only actor of merit on that show, and he's making what could be a very 2 dimensional character be very interesting to watch. He epitomises what great acting can be. It's not just saying some lines with emotion. It's playing a million subtle physical cues beneath every line. I don't know how the other actors who have to work alongside that, haven't just fucking killed themselves in shame.
