One, Two I got The Behind the Scenes Pics of the Day for you…
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes pic!
I started getting sent this pic about 3 months ago and since then it has been one of the more popular reader submitted images. That leads me to believe that it’s not exactly the hardest pic to come across.
It also tells me that it’s an image that sticks with people.
There were many films I loved growing up, but A Nightmare on Elm Street holds a special place for me. I never saw anything like it and have very vivid memories of the movie completely freaking me out. That opening credits sequence of grimy hands working on the glove in the boiler room and that first Tina dream sequence was unlike anything I’d ever seen before.
The dream atmosphere and the overall gritty tone is what really sets the first film apart from any of the sequels (barring the second film, which is not a great movie, but is the only one that actually has that same tone, much like Jaws 2 isn’t a pimple on the ass of Jaws, but it still feels cut from the same cloth) and any other movies of the type.
Wes Craven tapped into something special with Nightmare. The combination of casting, story, tone, effects and atmosphere all lock in to create one of my personal favorite horror films and movie monsters of all time.
The pic below is of Fred hanging with the Elm Street kids, including young Johnny Depp and listening to a Walkman. Enjoy!
Here are the pics! Enjoy!

If you have a pic you think should be included email me. I’m looking for the iconic, the rare or the just plain cool behind the scenes shots to feature here.
Well, I’ll be dipped in shit if tomorrow we don’t get a new Behind the Scenes Pic!

-
That would be fun.
-
REPORT THE FUCKING NEWS, THIS DOG AND PONNY SHOW IS TIRED.
-
Donny - shut the fuck up. Don't like them, don't click on them.
-
that's like revealing my dad is Santa Claus!
-
where Freddy's pet sheep makes an appearance.<P> And his Mr Fantastic arms.
-
When he said it was going to be a Nightmare pick today, this is defintely the first one I thought of. I wish it wasn't such an obvious one.
-
I've really been enjoying the pic-o-the-day feature. Hard to imagine any real movie fan not having fun with it. Kudos!
-
when this movie came out..i always thought about what her panties would smell like after her gym class..**sigh**
-
How dare they??
-
Had a big one for her, especially in Nightmare!
-
Didn't even have hair on his balls
-
Thats why I dont do it. Some good advice for talkbackers who bitch about articles that deal with things they arent interested in. Dont click on the link. You think you woulda learned.....when you were three.
-
he looks like the unpopular nerd of the group. oh fuck. 8[
-
The Walkman is fucking great.
-
Loved the dream warriors in the third one, and the methods Freddy uses to torment and kill his prey was a hoot. It was certainly the first one to start becoming campy, but its probably my favorite after the original. Just watched the remake last night - not a bad movie, but kinda pointless. I was entertained enough, best Nightmare movie in a long time, but they steadily went downhill after #3, so that's a half-assed compliment. And regarding the other issue on the talkback today: I love the BTS pic o'the day. Keep 'em coming. For those bitching about the articles, What the f**k is wrong with you? I have no interest in the comics articles, so I don't open them. I don't go on and whine and moan about there being too much news on comics. Jeez.
-
Who knew that guy who got sucked into the bed would end up becoming one if the biggest stars in Hollywood.
-
I suspect were getting some Jordy Verrill action tomorrow. Loves me some "Creepshow".
-
being stupid is its own reward.
-
On a 14 inch black and white TV at 3am, around the time it first appeared on cinemax or hbo or whatever. Good movie, but haven't watched it since.
-
That's the best review I've ever read about this movie. Succinct, and nails it.
-
If it wasn't for his Tom Hanson do I don't think Johnny would've been as big...prolly end up wherever the @#%@# Richard Grieco is.
-
can anyone tell me how Let Me In has reshot the 'swimming pool scene? (negotiating spoilers)
-
I mean honestly could anyone have predicted where he would end up. That is unless you subscribe to the theory that he was acting like a mono-slavic meat-head teen in which case GENIOUS!
-
...this ponny show at all. I had a thing for Wyss as well after the triple punch combo of Fast Times, Nightmare and Better Off Dead!
-
Q&A Panel consisted of Englund, Lagenkemp, Wyss and John Saxon. Pretty cool I must say. I wish Depp would drop by at one of these convention Q&A's and show some Elm St love. Also at this convention was the black guy from Dream Wariors and the gay guy from Pt.2. so much for being politicaly correct. But ya lot's of Elm St. Children last week!
-
I watched that the other night...not bad.
-
I only see one. What gives?
-
I was first introduced to her via a little show called "Just the Ten of Us." She was the nerd daughter and she was kickin'. Then I saw her in NOES, and let's just say the love affair began. Cool pic.

I wonder why Johnny Depp doesn't go to these reunions? Hmmm...

The behind the scenes feature is the only thing I honestly enjoy checking out. It's not like the average talkbacker's glowing personality keeps me coming back. Though, it's funny to see twats like BethesdaSea get needlessly angry. Cheers, fuckface.
-
Especially seeing it today in 2010!
-
what he was listening to to
-
Everyone would have a question for him. No one would want to talk to "the black kid" from NOES3 or whatever.
-
I'd ask him a question about why he looks like the dude from Goodburger.
-
Would it be alright if I asked her out?
-
it's politically correct to say black guy and gay guy. What the fuck else are you going to call a black or gay person? I'm sick of people apologizing when they have to mention someone else on the planet that isn't Anglo/Saxon. Black guy, white guy, Mexican guy, gay guy, Asian guy, Indian guy. I agree that someone should have to apologize when the word gay is mentioned though because it reminds me of men sucking sperm out of each other's asses

"Just the Ten of Us" came after NOES...
by HarryKnowlesNonExistentInceptionReview
...it was a spin-off from "Growing Pains". All the daughters on that show were hot as hell. (except the kid one, of course) My fave was the redhead, but the blonde was awesome, too (and I think she was in one of the NOES sequels).
-
.........needs more people shitting on the new NOE movie and platinum dunes.
-
yea, thats what the original didn't take advantage of.."micronaps". Whatever. The remake PALES in comparison to the original. The whole concept of Freddy invading the dreams is that Freddy could alter the environment and HIMSELF (even though it was an obvious cheap effect, I always liked the image of the arm-stretching Freddy). In the remake, Freddy would just pop up like a jack-in-the-box...whoops I was in front of you..nooow..BOO..I'm behind you. Lame.
-
My favorite is the 4th one. Maybe its because it was the first one I saw in theatres (and I was really young like 10 or 11...bad older siblings) and it just rocked to me. I mean..Freddy turns a chick into a roach for goodness sakes. It perfectly encapsulates late 80's early 90's cheese but is still awesome.
-
Is considered the gayest sequel of all time. Check out the doc the Nightmare Legacy. They talk about it and about how many gay references there were in it. Hell the main actor was gay.
-
Yep. You'd be surprised how much of the non-geek culture doesn't even remember or recall part 2 lol. I think the studios ret-conned it once people realized it was uber gay.
-
Don't be embarrassed by your early roles Johnny! Btw, the only good NOES movie other than the original is Part 3. Dream Warriors, Patricia Arquette, and Dokken baby!
-
At the reunion he touched on why the new Freddy did'nt look right and he made sense when he said when you take away the nose and then have him wearing a wide brim hat it makes it even worse. He had high praise for JE Haley of course saying he was the best thing about Watchmen.
-
actually, 3 of the girls were involved. there's Heather of course, then the blonde played Debbie the cockroach chick from Part 4 and then the other brunette has a small role at the beginning of Part 2 as one of the terrorized girls on the bus.
-
the remake was waaaaay better.
-
Yeah, I'm aware of the NOES and JTTOU timeline. I saw the show before the movie.
-
Bastard. :P
