First PromoArt from CAESAR: RISE OF THE APES?!?!?

Published at:  Oct 11, 2010 6:22:53 PM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here with a cool little something for a film I think we're looking curiously at. This is a "Thank You card" from the Art Department of CAESAR: RISE OF THE APES - the new Apes project from Fox. Just one of the myriad of fun promo items that different departments make... On KILL BILL - every department had their own T-shirts with their own unique designs, that they paid for out of pocket - because it was so cheap in China to do that. I love this sort of art work - and love pics of these sorts of things - they are... VERY COOL. Take a look!

The rest were crap. it'll always be open to ridicule. You just can't make a credible apes film. Humans ruin it.

    The original Caesar

    by the brains

was an interesting character, played well by McDowall. The movie was pretty straightforward and maybe they can do something new with it. I don't want to get my hopes up too much after the 2001 Burton version.

    by blackwood

Just RISE OF THE APES seemed limp.I rewatched Burton's APES. It's not that bad. Tim Roth is incredible. So are the effects. Burton went his way with it, and there are some bright spots. It feels 'interfered with', like it wasn't allowed to be as weird as it wanted to.

Yeah, I'm also of the opinion that Burton's PotA was, on par, a decent movie. A timely sequel to follow up on that crazy ending would have been nice. Burton is a brilliant director when the studio lets him have his vision.

    Burton's Apes

    by the brains

I enjoyed the movie in parts, great makeup and effects, but rewatching some of it again, it is a strange mix of big summer blockbuster trying really hard to be wacky and comedic.

The main problem with the originals is that you do notice that the budget gets smaller with each sequel.

So will they try to tie this crap to the real Ape movies, or to that Burton trash (which, for some reason, didn't have Depp in drag, in spite of being directed by Burton...)?
