Last weeks episode was terrible aside from the "Black Noise" skit. The Miley Cyrus and Johnny Depp impersonations were decent enough though. I wish they'd stop with all this male on male kissing...it isn't even funny.
-
But the TB remains. What about Supernatural? What about the fact that Smallville doesn't suck this season? Doesn't matter to Herc cause Kings of Leon are on SNL. Dude...come on
-
Strange that she's not included in this special. She was like the main female castmember during the Dana Carvey/Phil Hartman era. I always liked her better than Nora Dunn in those skits.
-
Maybe because she looks like a trainwreck. Did you see how awful she looked on "30 Rock"? And to think I used to think she was hot back in the 80's. Yikes. Time has not been good.
-
but Victoria Jackson was. Neither has aged well.
-
Okay I was wrong. She is 51. Considering her age, she looks okay. I wonder how Cheri Oteri looks these days? I don't see her in anything. I always thought she was sexy.
-
I sent a bot-tle of spah-kling ap-ple juice to your house.

Did you get it?
-
they're gonna have to tear her away from...of wait, never mind.
I kid, I kid. I love SNL ladies, this is gonna be fun.
-
And jj, after those sketches with Kattan as the overly flirtatious couple, how could anyone not think she was sexy?
-
Never saw the sketches. Just always thought she was very pretty for a funny short little chick. Just googled her too. She's 48 now and doing nothing high profile these days. Sort of surprising since she shared top billing with Ferell there for awhile.
-
then why did you click on the link and then post? Admittedly I don't catch every episode but still enjoy SNL from time to time. I think a lot of people too. But the show has been on for over 30 years... People naturally tune in and out of it at this point, and they all think that the era they grew up with is the good old days.
-
I knew deep down the sparkling apple juice sketch was bad but it was so damn catchy. I was even singing it the next morning.
-
gave me a good laugh
-
...a bo-ttle of spark-ah-ling app-le juice to your house. Did you get it?
-
Morgan Freeman and Ernest Borgnine's reaction to the clusterfuck that was the "What's Up With That?" sketch were comedy gold.
-
Perhaps that's why she's not appearing on this special?
-
And Charlie Rocket! What?
-
SNL had a history of treating women like shit. It's self serving, to say the least, for them to offer up a special honoring their women. What's next? The blacks of SNL?
-

If SNL wanted tobe daring and genuinely provoke reaction...
by KazamaSmokers
... they'd get Jan Michael Vincent to host.
-
I bet it's just 2 hours of Kristen Wiig Sketches
-
Maybe a bit to skinny, but if I had a time machine... I'd tap that.
-
....want to put a bullet in our heads. There was absolutely nothing funny about that in the least. And I dont mean "Hey man, humor is subjective, I laugh at stupid things sometimes" unfunny. I mean it was literally torture on the couch. As for the women of SNL special, bring it on. The females are the only funny on the show anymore. Speaking of, they need to match up Seth Meyers, hes better playing off someone.
-
Or will this be mostly clips with new intros like that Mother's Day special they did back in the 90's?
-
and I bet they wouldn't even invite Tim Meadows.
-
with the inclusion of Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, they are actively acknowledging the Ebersol era! Run for your lives, it's the end of the world as we know it!
-
i've noticed that she's doing Manjula's voice less and less. i think Tress McNeil is doing it these days. but even in the season 13 dvd set doesnt have her in the few appearances the character makes. wonder if she left the show or something.
-
Cause i fucking wanted to. Kind of simple. I think it's why they keep the talkback section up,we come on here and either complain or talk about how great something is. Also, no sure what you meant by "I think a lot of people too". I check out SNL every now and then and i'm usualy let down. I was hoping to see some kind of different or better guest hosts than last season.
-
As he waits for an opening to start singing was pretty damn funny.
-
Tim Kazurinsky Lives!
-
It reminded me of the potato chip sketch in that it really didn't make sense but kept me laughing as it went on. Sometimes those sketches are the best
-
That's some wild and crazy stuff
-
Though this special doesn't sound like it'll have much funny or eye candy.
-
What made the sketch funny was Armisen explaining the story behind the song and how he was depressed for a year, then noting that he later found the bottle of apple juice in his garage and had actually forgotten to send it. Cracked me up.
And the song was damn catchy. I used it as a Facebook status because I couldn't get it out of my head.
-
how cool would it be to have them do the weekend update again?
-
Tiresome how Herc continues to pimp the stupid bullshit that he likes, while premptively dancing on the grave of Chuck and ignoring Supernatural because they apparently did something to irritate him. Strange how there was no Thursday ratings column this week. Did Big Bang bitchslap Herc's pet show Community yet again?
-
but they found an ovarian cyst with hair and teeth that would work for scale.

Man show- Eddie Murphy, Joe piscapo, dana carvey, dennis miller,
by joker40
billy crystal,Dan ackroyd,BILL MURRY,Chevy chase,CONAN O BRIEN(writer) then you would talking and colin quinn...DO A FULL WEEKEND UPDATE NEWS CAST SHOW..WITH ALl the past weekend update people for an hour and a half news show..with all past WU reporting...that would rule...
-
With all due respect to Chuck and Supernatural... Whether you like SNL or not it's institution that has lasted roughly 30 years more then either of those shows. Whether you like the current incarnation of SNL or not, I think most of us have a soft spot for some part of SNL's long history. I like Chuck too. It's a fun premise and I've enjoyed all of the episodes that I've seen, but it's not strong enough for me to keep wanting to come back. Someone is always clamoring for a Supernatural talkback... I don't know... After 4 or 5 years of that you'd think that you Supernatural fans would find another forumn...
-
Somewhere Janeane Garofalo and Sarah Silverman will be splitting a six pack & making catty comments at a poorly paced clip show.
-
So the other shoulder is supposed to look that way.
-
I mean she is in no way "attractive" in the traditional sense...but I get half a chubb watching her, am I wierd?
-
Lousy cold open, lousy monologue.
-
I NEED THAT!!
-
Now back to Glee sketches...
-
not Gilly.
-
Who told SNL that this character is funny?
-
....after Forte left. Don't they realize he was the only reason the sketches were funny? Obviously not.
-
Him saying "Gilly" in his low voice is what made the sketch, Sudenkis just doesn't have it
-
show is already ruined, if they are going to force us to watch annoying Wiig sketches at least give us Penelope, not this stupid ass Gilly bullshit
-
....THAT was the worst fucking thing I've ever seen in my life. God, I hope that's not the high point.
-
Whoa, mom gets around!
-
Jesus.
-
I'm gonna have to clear my schedule.
-
Maybe it'll be funny this time.
-
Boy, way off on that.
-
just the way she talks or something
-
someone would give Wiig a movie deal so she would LEAVE THE FUCKING SHOW!!!
-
Gilly was funny-ish since they limited Wiig's time. NBTS was funnier, especially with the Magic/HIV punchline. Then they ruin it with this game show crap. Why not have one of the other gals. Talk about a waste of breasts.
-
Okay. That was funny.
-
Also the unfunny continues.

So the new black guy was hired just to play black actors?
by RedBull_Werewolf
yet he's not the new obama?
-
Let's see how Jay Pharaoh saves this one.
-
great Denzell impersonation
-
is dead on
-
Kenan better watch out, SNL is only allowed to have one black guy
-
Good imitation of both at the same time.
-
cause it kinda worked for the sketch
-
thought the same thing. agree too
-
He even had Denzel's congratulatory clapping down. What happened at the end there?
-
This Vanessa Bayer chick had some seriously nice legs in that Glee sketch. My Abby has some competition. What do you think?
-
IS THIS?
-
Laraine Newman. Kind of spooky actually.
-
...at least now I'm not embarassed that I'd never heard of this guy.
-
i was hoping it was OJ performing under his band name Bruno Magli
-
But he apparently stole his look from Jackie Wilson.
-
In an off season.
-

Abby has no worries, Bayer looks like her head was put in a vice
by RedBull_Werewolf
great legs perhaps, but Abby's got the whole package. She's still SNl's current hottie
-
They have nothing in common. Yet she does kind of have a Newman vibe.
-
What a relief, I've been oddly attracted to her since 40 Year Old Virgin. I am NOT full of bananas.
-
If only.
-
I do it to a lot of chicks and i think it isn't working for me cause i'm never poked back
-
I rmember thinking why the hell isn't steve carell's character taping that
-
Please be funny.
-
Saved a bad sketch
-
it's usually an operner or at least in the first 30 mins. Also, what was up with Weekend update being so late, it was at least 10 mins later then it usually is in the show
-
http://tinyurl.com/268tao2 http://tinyurl.com/27xsk2m

Not saying they're identical, but you can still kinda see it.
-
I think they just add them for the women that watch the games with their husbands
-
button on my remote.
-
And more talented. Sorry, but Newman was a one note star. Hippie chick. Can't think of her doing anything else. Bayer already did a great break out Mylie Cyrus bit.
-
He sings the chorus to that stupid I wanna be a billionaire song that is always on the radio
-
Guy sucks. Gave him a chance. He sucks.
-
She would have received the go ahead before Keener, but that's just me. And am I missing something with Bruno?
-
yummy.
-
I hope they share the same fate
-
Always thought Jane was VERY attractive in A Mighty Wind. Her and Posey both.
-

Wow, are they really ripping off a first season South Park joke?
by Shermdawg
-
I knew it!
-
messed up the punchline
-
Oct. 9, 2010, 11:59 p.m. CST
wow, potentially funny sketch ruined by a bad ending
by RedBull_Werewolf
for shame
-
Will they be able to outsuck it?
-
Oct. 10, 2010, 12:01 a.m. CST
Denzel Washington sketch was the best of the night
by RedBull_Werewolf
The rest of the show was pretty lame, New boyfriend was funny and I could see it returning, but everything else just failed. Typical last episode in a three week run syndrome, The show should only do 2 new episodes then take a week off
-
The least they could've done was another Miley Cyrus Show skit. Ah, Vanessa.
-
Vanessa Bayer did a great Mylie Cyrus last week. Plus, she's hot. I say keep. Jay Pharoah did a great Denzel this week. I say keep. Nasim Pedrad. I like her. Underused. I say keep. The rest? Kick them out.
-
shows. it seems like they are trucking along to get everything in this final season. I'm not a huge fan of taking every fucking Superman villan and putting them in a "human vessel" but this was way better than Doomsday, the paramedic cannibal. I guess the bar has been so low i was impressed.
-
It reminds me of when the anti-life equation was released in Final Crisis. It made anybody who heard it evil slaves of Darkseid. Plus, also in Final Crisis, they stuck him in a human host. Really not at all that inappropriate how Smallville has interpreted it.
-
was awesome and I know there's nothing he could do about this but... the guy was a little too young and didn't look enough like him to pull it off. The impression was awesome but would be even better on the radio.
-
Neither Jan Hooks (circa 1988) or Jane Lynch are hot. They have likeable symmetrical faces, and they aren't ugly, but they aren't hot. There's a difference.
-
can anyone tell me who the creator and executive producer of the show is?
-
... Jon Hamm is going to be this decade's Alec Baldwin.
-
An excuse to get Tina Fey back as Sarah Palin right before the mid-term elections the next day. What a convenient time slot for this 'special'.
-
Lynch made what would have been some duds pretty darn good. Sunday night football was laugh out loud several times. Boyfriend was worth another 5-7 good laugh aloud moments. Guest on Weekend update was funny, and that never happens. Glee mad Gilly sketch watchable. Hats off to Lynch. Again, the laugh out loud momoents was 2-5x more than the average episode. It is hard to say the episode was a bust. I think many of you just try too hard to want this show to suck.
-
I'm pretty sure I could find you some hot pictures of Jan Hooks. She looked good in some sketches back in the day.
-
Meaning, that's the kind of skit they'd do at an improv show. Short, one-sentence, but sort of absurd concept. And that was a very good impression. Reminds me of "Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals".
-
circa whenever baby
-
is gone this year, just noticed. Guess that mistake got her fired.
-
IS she still spooky skinny?
-
There could be any number of reasons why Jenny Slate isn't on the show this season. She certainly wasn't fired for dropping the f-bomb. She made it thru the entire last season.
-
or don't bother with this kind of clip show. Those three were the best ladies in the history of the show.
-
that SNL has historically been devoid of quality women led sketches? Yes, Gilda had some good ones. Jan Curtain was good as an SNL news anchor. But the 80s sucked for female SNLs other than Mary Gross' Dr. Ruth until Jan Hooks came along (and she only had a few good ones where she was the lead). The 90s weren't much with Cheri Oteri doing some good sketches with Will Ferrell and not much else. This past decade wasn't any better. People will point to Kristin Wiig, but I find her overrated. Past her, there is nothing much to speak of.
-
Funniest woman the show has had.
-
Seriously, Gilda was so flippin talented I still watch her Candy Slice sketches on Netflix and she's actually more 70's punk awesome than the real Patti Smith ever was.
-
Instead of just re-using old scripts, like they do with most of their recurring bits.
-
That bitch actually wrote an essay on the Huffington Post about how her poor children could no longer afford attend an exclusive private school and would have had to rub elbows with the commoners at University High if not for obtaining a permit for Beverly Hills High. How horrifying.
-
Certainly not hilarious, or good, but mildly amusing. And when it's so late in the show, mildly amusing isn't bad. But that Potato Chip sketch was the fucking 9/11 of comedy. It was like the cast was forced to perform a sketch written by the worst person in a Second City Level 1 writing class. Any knee-jerk contrarians praising that comic abortion, because it was so "different," should be ashamed of yourselves. Or better yet, go play with a random word generator and make silly voices. Then you recreate the magical brilliance of the fucking Potato Chip sketch.
-
This show is still on?
-
is this show still on????
-
D'OH!! Also hasn't Lorraine Newman wasted away to nothing yet? too soon?
-
Come on, SNL. Just admit it. You think your pre-election "special" helped get Obama elected, and you hope your "totally coincidental" pre-election "special" this time will help hurt the GOP. The only question is how many of the sketches will try to make fun of the GOP or Tea Party. I say TRY, because SNL hasn't been funny in 15 years.
