... should that be FOURTH? Glad to hear it's getting renewed, SAMCRO is always welcome on my TV.
-
Can we get a SONS talkback next Tuesday? Pretty please, with sugar on top.
-
Now if only Fringe would get moved to a better spot.
-
Best show on TV. I also figured with the current storyline this wasn't going to be the end. The final season will come when Jax figures out how his father really died.
-
...sounds like a great idea!
-
love this show. Network tv is dead. Long live FX and AMC!
-
Once this Belfast story is wrapped up, we are going to have to deal with the repurcussions of what Jax finds out.
-
Hopefully he's going to be able to see them out and finish in style like The Shield did.
-
ireland.
-
Looks like I'm going to DirectTV or Comcast.
-
That Maureen will end up being an old fling of John Teller's and her daughter might be Jax's half sister? I just got that feeling during that scene where Jax was on the phone with the daughter and how they were bickering at each other.
-
come on herc make it happen
-
A retelling of Hamlet told through the eyes of a biker gang, spread out of seven seasons of television? FUCK YEAH!!!!
-
a 0.4. ouch. <p>so much for the 1.2 to 1.5 rating they hoped the move and pushed up release date for season 1.5 would draw.
-
...but it's got just enough good things to keep me coming back. <br><br>Stephen King's cameo was pretty cool.
-
Violence and transgressive behavior from the Samcro lot. If you followed the Shield from season 1 you could never forget Vic's "original sin" and that he was at heart a monster. Sure there's some of that here, but it isn't reinforced enough to ground the drama in the real--shit the cops look dirtier than the bikers.
-
Glad to hear that, it started out pretty bland, but has really picked up over the past few episodes.
-
Love that show~!
-
My only complaint about this show is they can't shoot action to save their lives.
-
Because Battlestar Galactica spinoffs need bikes to compete with other shows with bikes. Historical fact.
-
This is definitely the best show on right now. Am completely clueless as to what's going to happen after this weeks show. Jax working with Stahl? And behind the club's back? WTF? Granted, he's got some good reasons to do so, but still... behind the club's back? Some serious repercussions are bound to happen.
-
An SOA talkback is greatly needed here!
-
CCON, agreed on the Maureen being Jax's dad's old girl. I thought that dude that was w/ Cherry last week might've been Jax's half-brother. Might have a long-lost brother and a sister.<P> And there might even be more than that. What if there was some weird biker baby switch, and Jax's real mother is Maureen and that girl is Gemma's?
-
and Jax's old man says, I'm taking my boy back to the states and raise him.
-
Just about my favorite shit on TV. Especially since there's no more Deadwood or Shield.<P> Even when SOA decends into some A-Team-like action, it still manges to surprise like Jax did with the Irish in the Van @ Stahl's apt.
-
anyone notice she had some sort of accent? Irish, maybe?
-
venture into The Zone for a full forum on Sons of Anarchy with some of the best people around
-
So say we all.

KILL IT BEFORE IT SPREADS!!

Not enjoying the start of this season as much as the first two, feeling its a little too Gemma centric for my liking. But its still one of the best shows on TV. <p> Dexter is back, again not feeling that its got of to an amazing start just yet, with the "baggage" of having to deal with the wife's death, i.e. funeral and what we do with the kids, but at the end of the recent ep was getting me excited again and is my favourite show on right now, though Mad Men has had a stellar season. <p> Fringe is without a doubt the only hour long scripted show on network TV that I get excited about, some of the light comedy in Community, Modern Family, 30 Rock and The Office are fun but when it comes to the scripted stuff I casually enjoy watching Supernatural and trying to like the Event. <p> I still think that the TV studios keep making the same mistakes over and over again in regards to the like of the Event or Flash Forward, they are going for the mystery and the hook, but are writing terrible stories for their characters. <p> Lots of people complain about the ending of Lost (I for one think it was fantastic), but generally there isn't a lot of complaining about season 1 of Lost, it was very well done, you create a mystery and a great story, but you primarily need to create great characters and tell us about them. <p>
-
Interesting show, but you create a show that no one really was calling out for and you don't create a show that everyone was calling out for and you wonder why there is little interest. <p> I wonder when they were coming up with Caprica was anyone saying yeah, probably not the story people really want to see, they want to know about the wars, living during the time of the wars etc. <p> Kind of like when Lucas was coming up with Phantom Menance, "the first episode will be cool, will see Anakin as a kid and pod racing and trade embargos, am sure the audience can't wait to see that", a small voice speaks out "George haven't you considered.....", the owner of that small voice is suddenly taken away and everyone else just starts nodding their heads in aggreeemnt with George.
-
are two of the greatest shows because (not the only reason obvi) most (90% or so) actions have consequences if not right away, definitely sometime down the line. The mythology of SOA is awesome too, Kurt Sutter said he had written the whole history of SOA in his head. Can't wait for some shots of the club cruising the hills & mountains of Ireland, along with the best soundtrack on television.
-
That they watch this kind of crap? Aside from being all-around scumbags outlaw bikers are usually cowards.
-
... why can't they have actual Irish people to act the Irish roles? They have to some of the worst 'Oirish' accents on since Tom cruise in Far and Away! As an Irish person watching the show it really makes me cringe when Titus Welliver opens his mouth and starts his 'Begorrah and Bejeasus' nonsense.. Is that really the best they can do? I dread how bad it's going to get when Jax lands in Belfast.. "Well be the holy jeasus lad welcome to Oireland the land of Leprecauns and Fairies don't you know!" <p>Take it from me we don't talk like that...
-
Theres always someone who gets pissed off over something so stupid as the accents being off. I know Irish people who sound exactly like the actors do on that show and I know others who don't sound at all like that.
-
it will untill they all shrug thier shoulders and sure it will be grand. ahahahahahahahahaha
-
but the makers will probably avoid the city areas of belfast and shun urban ireland. to focus on rural ireland. rural ireland is beautiful. but if you want to see modern ireland if you to go the urban areas and city Ireland.
-
I think she IS Irish. Jax made a comment about Stahl "bringing her work home with her". It would make sense if she was an IRA informant that Stahl, in her infinite ability to be a fuck up, decided to romance. I also loved it when Stahl called Jax "the prince". Those subtle reminders of the source material work well to tell us that no matter how things are now, it is going to end in blood. This season was off to a shaky start, but the last 2 eps have been great. Now, let's work on getting Terriers renewed!
-
I'm from wexford living in dublin emerald which is why I have a beef with crap irish accents... as for optimus, well then as long as you think its stupid then thats all that matters isn't it!
-
Peopl fucking losing FX last week! BALLS!!!!!
-
I feel your pain. 9 out of 10 Hollywood accents that are s'posed to represent American southerners are nails-on-a-chalboard cringe inducing. see Forrest Gump
-
That actress who plays the doctor/biker gf is horrible tho. She has one facial expression. One. Didn't know that was possible for a human being, let alone an actress.
-
harrison ford and liam neeson played russians in k19 the widowmaker. Harrision ford as a russian. one of the funniest things I ever saw was that lloyd bridges movie from the 1990s were tommy lee jones played an maze escapee terrorist. I laughed so hard when Lee jones opened his mouth....
-
at times due to the lame folk music near the end of an episode.(who picks those boring unispired tracks anyways?)The show so far was at it's peak during the shocking second season as for the 3rd it's more like a quest to find jax's kidnapped son.Glad they added Black Bikers for a change, for diversity's sake.
-
Is the series actually on permanent hiatus due to Whitfield's reoccuring Cancer bout? just when Starz fianlly had a real hit on their hands..and Crash lost it's best actor Dennis Hopper to Cancer come to think of it.At least the Actor who stars as Dexter, is still alive and kicking.
-
I don't think they are brother and sister, but probably half-brother and half-sister. I'm pretty sure Able's heart issue in Season 1 was described as hereditary and passed down through Gemma.
-
the Abel storyline sucks. Unfortunately, we're probably going to have to deal with it all season.
-
I feel like we're going to get mid-season shift in story arc, with them wrapping up ABELQUEST '10 half way through the season. I can't see them going a full 13 with the current storyline. But we'll see. As far as having seven seasons, that could be cool, IF they can introduce new and FRESH elements each year ... but can they?? I'll be on board til the end, so here's hoping they have the opportunity.
-
should be made a regular back in Charming. He can disappear bodies and just all-around act creepy in each episode.
-
They could've had the whole rest of the season be the journey thru NW US followed up with an odyssey thru Canada. Only to find @ the end the boy's in Belfast. That would have been great, and amped up the tension and anger Jax would have toward Jimmy for putting him on a wild goose chase. Start the next season in Belfast.<P> Think they missed the boat on what could have been a neat story arc.
-
They've sadly decided to replace star Andy Whitfield with another actor. It sucks, but it was either do that or cancel the series because they wouldn't be able to hold onto the rest of the cast & crew without paying them.
-
That's great for the cast/crew too bad I've stopped watching this season: the Gemma plot (again) is way overwrought and soap operish and the Irish element doesn't grab me either. I'll probably tune in for the finale because like last year I'll know what's happened even if I didn't watch the bulk of the season. I want to love this show as much as I did for season 1 but so far season 3 is not going there.
-
The worst of them are very dangerous. Despite the hit they've taken years back the Mongols remain a very threatening gang in California. They fight and they don't fight fair. If one them comes on to your girlfriend in a bar and you step in, three of his buddies will come out of nowhere and beat you to death. Granted they may not be much different than most gangs, the Mexican cartels down south are unbelievably scary and much worse, but I wouldn't dare call one of them a coward to their face even if I was a giant. As for the show, I'm only two seasons in but I like it a lot so far. I'm sure there aren't that many older biker chicks that look like Katey Sagal but that's the magic of television.
-
Was born to play in every movie Tarantino makes from now on. New rule.
-
The guy who plays Jax is English and it slips out some times but he sounds pretty American most of the time. Who ever said the action looks like 80's A-team is pretty bang on. Last episode when Tyg took out those bad bikers with a forklift full of paint buckets I was thinking: "I love it when a plan comes together". Love the show anyway though.
-
I'm glad I don't have to think that this Able/IRA plot will be the end.<p></p> FX generally has a good history of putting on quality TV (although I was disappointed for Andre Braugher when "Thief" went out with a whimper).<p></p> As far as the "reality" of the show ... bfd.<p></p> Same goes for the accents. If you want recognizable faces on your show, you hire recognizable faces and hope the dialect trainer can work magic. Hell, I wanted to walk out of "Cool Runnings" and had to fight the temptation to throw shit at my TV whenever Tubbs did his "Teddy Prentice" shtick on Miami Vice ... but reality sets in and I just said "wtf, who really cares other than out of work Jamaican actors"<p></p> Besides, with real Irish actors, a significant majority of the viewership wouldn't be able to understand a fucking word lol
-
His book was the one serious appraisal of the Hells Angels and the outlaw biker phenomenon- not merely reportage, but appraisal. HST was not hostile and not sympathetic, but had a broad view of things, had seen a lot of the world and was not shocked by the lower orders. And his verdict on the Angels was that they were boring. They led pointless lives of petty crime and petty violence. At some point a kid writes to him and says he wants to move to California when he gets older and join the Hells Angels, and he writes him back and says no, it's really not that cool.
-
I thought I read somewhere the renewal of a season and the actual production were really tight. Kurt Sutter has to be really happy right now. I know I am. I'm just hoping we get to see the full story play out the way Mr. Sutter has planned.
