I am – Hercules!!
Darren Aronofsky ("Pi," "Requiem For A Dream," "The Fountain," "The Wrestler") didn’t score the opportunity to direct Christopher Nolan’s new Superman movie, but he may still be getting into the superhero game.
Deadline Hollywood reports Fox is in talks with Aronofsky about directing “X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2.”
I so disdain Gavin Hood’s first “Wolverine,” any mention of a sequel just kind of depresses me. I’m about as excited as I was when Paramount announced “Tomb Raider II.”
Hood (“Tsotsi”) had a fine reputation before Wolverine eviscerated it, and I’m fearful Aronofsky might get chewed up by the craptacular non-Singer-X-Men vortex.
And, no, simply setting the sequel in Japan will not ensure a quality outcome.
