TERMINATOR sequels... without Arnold or Cameron'

Published at:  Nov 11, 1999 4:37:06 PM CST

Hey folks, Harry here. Michael Fleming over at Variety ran a rather lengthy article about TERMINATOR 3 and 4. (CLICK Here To Read It!!!) For me the article raises some very real questions... Should there be TERMINATOR movies without James Cameron's involvement? I don't know. Should there have been ALIEN movies without Ridley Scott? Should there be STAR TREK without The Great Bird of the Galaxy? Ultimately this may very well be the direction the franchise needs to go in, but does it need to come from the writer of METALHEADS? Who knows... he might be a genius for this. Ultimately... this'll have to be a real wait and see sort of thing. I have my fingers crossed that what comes out of this is something truly fantastic. Everyone is on alert about the scripts, to see if they are kept up to the amazing standards of the first two films... The last things we need is a shitty Terminator movie right? Well... let's see what happens, the future is what you make of it... right?

    Sounds risky y'all...
Without James at the helm, I'm real nervous... without Arnie back, Linda Hamilton or Michael Bien and a great story - I see doom for the series. Hope the new team doesn't chince out on us!

No James Cameron, No Magic Touch...

James Cameron made the Terminator films. They are his babies. I won't watch a Terminator film, unless James Cameron is behind the camera. Sure, he took over for Ridley Scott in Aliens. But, he made Aliens my favorite film of all time. I wouldn't fream of paying to see a Terminator film if it lacked the guidance of Cameron. It just wouldn't be watchable.
