* “Jersey Shore” hit another new peak, beating “The Mentalist,” “Private Practice,” “The Apprentice” and everything else at 10 p.m. * To no one's surprise, ABC just announced it has cancelled "My Generation." No word on what will replace it at 8 p.m. Thursdays, but one hears there's a third Shonda Rhimes lady-doctor series ready to go. Here’s how it compares to other ABC shows:

* All broadcast shows fell except “30 Rock” and “Nikita,” both unchanged in the demo from last week. * ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” already way down from its 2009 premiere, and “Outsourced” fell farthest from last week. “Shit My Dad Says” and “The Office” fell hard also. * It’s hard to imagine NBC pulling “The Apprentice” mid-season, but you know they’ve got to be thinking about it. My advice is to leave it on but bring in “Parks and Recreation” to replace “Outsourced,” which is like viewer kryptonite.

THE APPRENTICE CANCELLED!!! shouldve happened four or five saesons ago
-
would never watch a show called my generation what a bunch of hogwash to think we lose lost to get crap like this
-
So 30 Rock would get crushed by BBT instead.
-
I'm starting a whole new catchphrase for the '10's!!
-
That doesn't look to good. On paper it looks like people are avoiding Community at 8pm, then flock 30 minutes later to 30 Rock, Office, and Outsourced. They should have left Community on after the Office where it was pulling really strong numbers a year ago. Now it's likely in trouble if it falls again. You know NBC will flip if a CW show winds up beating them at 8pm.
-
Why did Fox leave it on Thursday? It was doing great on Tuesdays, so why the frack did they stick it on one of the most competitive nights? Put "Lie to Me" on Thursday, and give Fringe it's slot.
-
just sayin'.
-
Yet can't be bothered to throw up a sentence mentioning the passing of a television legend?
-
...to gush over this seasons frighteningly low numbers for Fringe in 5...4...3...2...
-
Chill guy, he did write a whole obit in the main section of the site.
-
He hadn't before my previous post. I take it back though, the obit he wrote was very good.
-
You totally just got burned by yourself! Awesome!
-
OK, so you're watching because Maggie Q is hot. And so is Lyndsy Fonseca and the other girl in the sports bra. The action is silly, the plots are ridiculously contrived, but damn if it isn't actually a pretty fun story to watch.<p>Shane West is far less annoying than you'd think he would be as the underaged head of Division field operations, Aaron Stanford (Pyro from the X-Men movies) is having a lot of fun as the king of computer geeks, Melinda Clarke is very good as the dual personality ice queen torturer/beauty and charm teacher. And Xander Berkeley is spectacular playing essentially an evil version of his character from 24.<p>Every episode has plenty of cleavage and guns for us guys, but there's a reasonably good backstory developing about forbidden relationships at Division as well.<p>Worth a look.
-
This shit is plastered all around Hollywood on buses and billboards, but it looks like advertising for something from the local news, not a TV show. Using salacious phrases didn't help either, they were pretty snorey - apparently, this show is how EVERY SINGLE PERSON CHEATED ON EVERY OTHER PERSON.
-
douche
-
have the networks stopped using focus groups to watch pilots?<p>cuz i cant see any group liking either outsourced or my generation<P>the even is going soon herc...it will lose another 20 percent next week and nbc is gonna cut its losses
-
Stupid fucking advertising for My Generation. ABC needs to start overhauling so that they can maintain good ratings. Lucky thing they aggressively pursued "Good Christian Bitches" and "True Lies". The former would be well paired with Desperate Housewives. The latter will do well on Wednesdays after their comedies. I also think ABC should stop giving up on Friday and Saturday nights and resurrect the TGIF block again with well done family oriented multicamera sitcoms. And move some procedurals to Saturday night...
-
Even with its drop this week, it's still NBC's third biggest series after "The Office" and "Law & Order L.A."
-
didn't watch it, don't plan on tuning back in, curious though, could someone who watched it, tell us, was the second episode as bad as the first?
-
now that it doesn't compete with Supernatural, which is obviously in the same general genre. Fringe is the kind of show that has huge potential but never quite meets my expectations.
-
It's not GOOD, but it's not terrible either....right now it's serviceable at least. I've seen worse.
-
given away too much
-
What a Brave New World we live in
-
That has to be "people who left the TV on when they went to take a shit after The Office."
-
Russell Wong guest-star so it was great seeing that guy again! Surprise no one had put him in more series!<p>The only thing that makes me still cringe is Maggie Q action scenes! I knew she was small but she practically waif-like now! I just don't buy her scenes unless she blowing shit up or shooting guys!<p>However after that I even like Shane West and that a BIG surprise!<p>BTW, cancelled The Office because now its getting embarassing!
-
because it is on after The Office. The second episode was decent and fairly funny, better than the first. At least as funny as 2 1/2 Men or that show with the nerds.
-
Is only down because The Office was down too. It's not that bad a show as critics are saying.
-
I'm curious how that show is doing considering VH1 doesn't promote it.
-
No reality show will ever live up to it
-
Their programming is horrible if you like BBT you're 15... Fact. Shit my dad says is fucking horrible. Watched five minutes and wanted to die. CBS what the fuck you make shitty shows that for some reason people watch. I hope the Event stays on I dig that shit since it's not a cop show or a stupid premise comedy like every comedy on CBS.
-
According to the Hollywood Reporter it's in the works since the Film fell through. If David E. Kelley is involved, I wonder if Wonder Woman will play a Amazon Lawyer who brings down those who beat the justice system?
-
---was very funny. Don't listen to others, watch it and have your own opinion!
-
to realize that they're such bizarre mutants that the rest of the world is transfixed by this freakshow.
-
The JS cast is just a bunch of Staten Island rejects. People from NJ aren't like that, and neither is the Jersey shore like that. But, yeah, there is a collective "WTF?" reaction to this shit.
-
"What a brave new world, that has such people in it." <P> JS being #1 can mean only one thing: <P> It will be President Palin in 2012. <P> I welcome our new moron overlords.
-
wound of becoming too smart for the audience. <P> I am sure there are people out there who each week say "I can't figure this out; one week Walter is goofy and likes junk food. Next week he is all smart and evil. What gives? Hyuk, Hyuk,Derp, Derp, Derp."
-
Bristol will introduce them on DWTS.
-
supposedly the dvd and itunes numbers are outstanding...so no real need to worry. (also i had heard something regarding low cost-high length contracts for all principle cast and crew) seems like a show that will stick around for a bit despite lackluster numbers.

I want Community to stay a cult classic for as long as possible
by SifoDyasJr.
Once it gets popular, NBC will ruin it. Have just enough of us watch it to keep it on the air, but everyone else stay away.
-
they actually put that show back on the air despite the tragic circumstances from the never aired season 3? this slimeball douchebag murdered a beautiful young woman and vh1 stil wants to air this shit? fuck vh1
-
Judging by THE EVENT, people want to watch some good sci-fi at 9 p.m. EST but they have THE EVENT instead. A HOUSE/FRINGE/HAWAII FIVE-O night sounds pretty good to me.
-
"coming of age" because no one will watch that shit! Everyone over 28 will say "Fuck you you're 28." And no one under 28 will be able to relate to being just under 30 and trying to figure life out finally.... No smart, and cancelled! At least FRIENDS didn't throw it in your face like this stupid show did.
-
so if people are choosing to watch it, its because they like shitty sci fi
-
Five bucks says it drops again next week. And the week after that. And the week after that. <p> Considering NBC's overall ratings share among the broadcast networks, being the third highest rated show there isn't something to brag about.
-
They didn't air the episodes staring the murderer. These are newer episodes.
-
The concept is completely flawed from a ratings point of view. Who's going to watch it? It's about the internet generation, who are best known for using the internet for entertainment, i.e. not TV, so they aren't going to watch. Other generations have no desire to see a show about their kids, etc. This thing was made to have the viewership of an Amish community interest show.
-
You may wonder what the heck I'm referring to comparing these two networks. But in reality, they both follow a hollow business model that makes both of them very successful. In MTVs case, they promote stupid, brain dead, shallow, selfish programming and stars. It's like TMZ or People magazine in that they focus on inconsequential people and things that don't contribute anything to society. MTV doesn't care how meaningless and empty their programming is, as long as it's popular. Just like Fox News, which caters to old white cranky men. MSNBC is similar in that they cater to the elite, NY Times reading eggheads....they just aren't as successful.
-
Sammi and Situation are from Jersey. Paulie is from Rhode Island. Angelina and Vinny are from Staten Island. Snooki is from Upstate NY. JWoww is from Long Island, and Ronnie is from The Bronx. Also just because most aren't from NJ, doesn't mean the shore isn't like the show. Travel to Belmar on a hot Summer day and you will see what you see on the show amplified x100. <p>With all that, I still watch. The show is entertaining. And the kids are NOWHERE NEAR as bad as the desperate folks who whore themselves out over and over on the RW/RR Challenges. Those people are gross. At least the shore kids have a sense of Family about them.
-
Go to Belmar in the spring or fall and you'll see NONE of the people that you see in Jersey Shore. They're all BENNYS (Bayonne, Elizabeth, Newark, New York).
-
Go back to watching DWTS.
-
For giving me another reason to drink heavily and hate television viewers on general principle. I quit everything.
-
Shane West has been surprisingly OK. Clarke good. Not sold on Berkeley as the ruthless Ops though. It will get better once they get Alex into the field and into more skimpy outfits. And they need to bring back the cleaner dude from the pilot to replace the lame ones they've had so far.
-
Yes. Yes it was. While I cannot conceive of the possibility that it could be any worse, I can't see it ever getting any better. I wonder if employees at CBS refer to it as Shit My Network Airs.
-
Can u tell us, from looking at all these numbers, what is the number one new show?
-
They are hilariously bad. Seriously, if ABC could have paid me 50 grand 6 months ago to tell them that their multi-million dollar ad campaign would be the fruitless labor of a doomed show and saved enough money to feed all the homeless in new york. who greenlights these things, and why arent they fired the day after? I really dont understand. Who is held accountable for such a massive waste of time and money?
-
If you watch Jersey Shore as entertainment and not as some sort of reality show, it's a lot of fun and better than 90% of the stuff on tv. MTV has season 3 in the can already. How quickly do you think they're getting the cast back together for a season 4?
-
Oh and a new drinking game. When watching the Jersey Shore take a shot of Petron every time Sammy says she's done with Ronnie every episode.
-
Mike & Molly maybe?
-
make any sense financially? I mean, surely they have more episodes in the can, so isn't it just cheaper to air them? <P><P>I'm from the UK so I really just don't understand. The concept of cancelling a show mid-series is almost unheard of.
-
thank the LORD that this racist monstrosity of a show is tanking. The people who made it TOTALLY DESERVE the punishment of watching it get canceled much more than we deserve the punishment of watching it AT ALL. Maybe OUTSOURCED gettign canned is what it will take to convince people that outsourcing jobs isn't funny. It's a conspiracy of hatred of America.
-
that's why Outsourced has bad ratings /end anaphoric reference
-
Hawaii 5-0??
-
Well, I don't know. Herc has all the numbers right on his computer! Rather than guessing, why not look it up?
-
People from New Jersey have enough sense to stay away from that show. They knew it was trash.
-
Who's watching the Jersey Shore. I'm really curious about the demo of that audience. Not surprised at Grey's losing audience. It's in it's 6th season. It's still a cornerstone for ABC though. Not so good about Private Practice. Oh well, I'll admit that my guilty pleasure is a couple of shows on the CW. I'm watching stuff from Hellcats to Nikita to Supernatural. I feel like a 16 year old girl. LOL.
