Viddy Well, Zoe Greystone!!
Clips From Next Tuesday’s
Return Of Syfy’s CAPRICA!!
I am – Hercules!!
I saw this episode, directed by Eric Stoltz from a teleplay by Ryan Motesheard. It’s absorbing. Time has passed in the Galacticaverse as well. A lot has happened offscreen.
The first shot is of Cylons being assembled.
Patton Oswalt is back. So is James Marsters. Meg Tilly, looking a lot like she did in “Agnes of God,” joins the series as the monotheists’ Popeette.
There’s a lot of violence!
We learn where Daniel Greystone’s mother lives.
How does it end? “It’s good to be home.”
New episodes return to Syfy next Tuesday.

This will likely go over most peoples heads as far as complexity and dynamic, and it's a shame because 99% of what we watch is drivel and utter contrivance...here's hoping that the Tuesday night slot improves rating enough to warrant a renewal...
-
oh, and btw...first!!!!! or second, take your pick!
-
Herc, your fascist rule will not last for long. Caprica stinks and you know it.
-
Her glaze of old sex, her inappropriate for her age worn for three days clothes
They really should show people reacting to her smaell
-
I stuck with Caprica for 10 episodes, of which maybe there were 1 or 2 episodes worth of good material, the rest was unfocused and meandering.

Caprica is best summed up by its title sequence, pretentious, overblown, looks pretty but is just kinda silly.

If it wasn't attached to an existing SciFi property, there is no way it would've lasted this long. Its a shame because I'm sure these is a good story in there...somewhere
-
Glad Caprica is back early, but I fear for it's ratings when it has to compete in a time slot that has offering from the big 3 networks and also has to deal with bigger cable hits like Sons of Anarchy and Teen Mom in the same time slot. Makes me think SciFi Channel are hoping the show gets throttled so they can justify axing it, which would be a terrible thing.
-
to the end of the first season, then I will reevaluate. So far I swing from very impressed to throwing my hands up with dismay.
The political and industrial intrigue is interesting enough. So are the mafia family saga bits. And the philosophical questions about creating a higher order life form is also worthy of the parent Galactica series. But the virtual reality aspects are stale and derivative of The Matrix. For that matter, why was this technology never mentioned in BSG? Even if it was banned you'd think there would be contraband around SOMEWHERE. Finally, the CW-style teen angst elements are dull and really drag the story down. I wish the series show runners would smarten up and write the kids out of the series entirely.
If BSG was the "Band of Brothers" of SF TV, they should have positioned Caprica as the "West Wing". No kids. Period.
PS: In the first clip, what the hell is it with the Clockwork Orange droogs?! Very unoriginal.
-
in BSG, actually. The Cylons had the ability to put themselves anywhere they wanted. It was obviously built into them. Why the humans never had it, I don't know, but the Cylons seemed to use it all the time.
-
It's the only thing I'll watch on Siffy these days, so I can't see them giving it another season after dragging out the first. Hell, I'm amazed they didn't stick to their original plan of Janaury 2011 to burn off the rest of the episodes.
-
... has an amazing body, especially her ass. Gawd almighty! It jiggles when she's fighting the Droogies!
-
It's not even close.
-
... to get ourselves into a big life threatening situation, then become Instant Geniuses to get ourselves out of it.
Rinse, Repeat
Rinse, Repeat
Rinse, Repeat

-
I'm in.
-
Wow, I'm out of the loop.
-
Supposedly the 2nd half of season 1 is much better then the 1st half. Also the 1st episode of SG:U the other night was real entertaining IMO.
-
stop hating bozos! SG:U is cool too. The worst part about it is having friends catch you watching it, what with the rest of the stargate mythos holding it hostage and all. i mostly wish it was a standalone show. get rid of the stargate. get rid of those stones. get rid of the occasional macgyver cameo. would have a sort of "how voyager should have been" vibe.
-
I think a few decent episodes could really make this series. It needs something new, an element not seen in BSG to make everything think.
As it is, it's a watchable drama.
SGU stinks to high heaven. How the hell they can continue the spinoffs I don't know.
-
Is that girl with the enormous breasts still on SGU?
-
Yes, she is still on the show. What really annoys me about SG-U is how they are apparently going to bring in SG Atlantis characters. I freaking HATE the previous Stargate shows but I got into Universe because it's so different from the others. It's a BSG clone, and that's why I like it, but now they're trying to connect it to the other shows, which is a big mistake. Oh and Caprica is awesome too.
-
Good show, interesting story.
-
its not the content. its the ratings. this season is sadly the last. thanks guys for nothing
-
Ok. You got me. I so totally am not.
-
SGU is at the top of its game and is the sci fi show to beat. but still boring?
-
the SPACE FEDORAS!
-
I'll give it another chance.
-
Peoples complaints definitely register with me but I'm still stuck on this.. So in that respect they "got me". I have to know what the hell is gonna happen. I need to know what the hell is going on with Zoe. I sure dont see her becoming involved with the "one true god cult" or becoming some type of "leader" for anything at all. I dont see Esai Morales ever becoming this great Lawyer we were told about.
BTW, Any of my nerd kind ever been to Doug Drexlers blog the Drex-Files? Pretty neat.
-
An interesting point, I hadn't considered it that way. But the Cylon Projection is a little different. And for some reason, the Galactica Colonials didn't seem to know or understand the concept which I think they would have if it had been part of their history (albeit their underground culture).
-
Is it Doug Drexler's blog that has the odd religious bit in there, or John Eaves'?
-
I gave it a long long long chance, and it isn't going anywhere. We had more plot and creativity in the BSG miniseries than we did in all the episodes put together of Caprica. The idea for Caprica was great... the problem is that obviously no one ever thought of what stories they'd want to have in that universe before they pitched it.
-
Everything in BSG took place IN the virtual world being established during the Caprica series. Or maybe we all just watch for 5 years as the imponderables build up then shout "god did it" and explain no more!
-
I definitely think it's a possibility that galactica takes place in v-world. Zoe said, that the only way to make v-world worthwhile is if ht epeople in it didn't know it was a game. That would explain Starbuck disappearing and reappearing, her brand new ship, etc. What the cylons have figured out wit resurrection is a way to beat the rules of the game, to stay inside he game (normally when you die in v-world you're gone forever.) THis would be the intuitive leap that the final 5 spoke of. Realizing that they are actually inside a program. Starbuck was allowed back in the game to help attain an objective and then simply "de-ressed" (spelling?) at the end. Just a thought.
-
"is if the people." I'm mildly retarded.
-
this channel is not what it used to be they used to have shows like bsg lexx farscape and the other stargate shows now waht do have? caprica is the only good show left they seem to be more about wwe shows like nxt and smackdown
-
syfy moved the episodes up, originally scheduled for Jan 2011, to give the series a stronger lead-in and tying the premiere of season 1.5 with the release of the dvds for season 1.0.
if the ratings continue to be in the 1.0 area, caprica will not get a 2nd season order.
-
That is a very spooky idea......likey
