The Batmobile Rolls Again!! Pics Of The BATMAN FOREVER Vehicle Lit Up For Nighttime Action In The ARTHUR Remake!!

Merrick here...
We've known for a while now that Schumacher-era Batmobile would be appearing in Russell Brand's forthcoming remake of the 1981 Dudley Moore film ARTHUR (details HERE). Despite this appearance being heavily covered by the Geek Press, I guess word still hasn't penetrated the mainstream as we've recently received a number of e-mails from New York folk claiming that that a new BATMAN movie was being filmed - and that the Batmobile was zooming around neighborhoods there. Chris, one of our readers, caught some cool images of the vehicle in action (the one from BATMAN FOREVER). Like many people, he indicated a belief that scenes for a new BATMAN film were being shot. Alas...not yet, and when Team Nolan gets their new BAT movie up and running, it certainly wouldn't utilize this particular Batmobile. I wasn't a huge fan of the Batmobile design for the Schumacher BATMAN movies, although there's a certain dopey charm about it and that car is the least of those movies' problems. It's kinda cool to see it in action again... Here's Chris' message, followed by the EMBIGGENABLE images he sent along.
Earlier this week, a huge production crew was here in lower Manhattan. From what I saw on Tuesday night (9/07, and they were also filming on 9/08 and 9/09, I just didn't hang around), they had Pine St and Williams St blocked off and had the Batmobile race through the concrete canyons being tailed by an NYPD squad car. There were lighting sets and camera crews all over (including a camera rigged to a Mercedes M-Class, as can be seen in "2682"). At least a dozen production trucks lined Nassau St. I stuck around for a couple "takes" to at least capture the chase. I think they just had a stunt guy driving it. Not the best pictures of course, but hopefully you'll get a sense of what I witnessed and you may recognize such a scene when the movie hits theatres.
