Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes pic!
Forgive the tardiness of this entry, but I woke up after 4 hours of sleep to go shoot automatic weapons with the crazy-ass brilliant madman and pillar of the Austin business community Tim League and a handful of Fantastic Fest peoples.
After spending hours in the hot sun shooting everything from a P90 to an AK-47 to a .357 Magnum (yes, I am a man now) I got to the Alamo just in time to slip into the nutso Japanese flick COLD FISH.
I have a few minutes to knock this one out before my next flick, so here it is.
This is another TV pic and while not necessarily the most spectacular I’d never seen a BTS pic from the filming of Fawlty Towers before receiving this one from a reader. So, anything with John Cleese is an automatic “priority,” and now you have it below for your your viewing pleasure.
While looking cheap (it kind of surprised me to see the 35mm camera in the pic below) John Cleese and Prunella Scales kick comedy's ass in Fawlty Towers. If you haven't seen it yet, you owe it to yourself to give them a spin. For serious.

D.Vader was one of the most valuable Talkbackers on this site. He had been here a long time, and he always had something SMART and THOUGHTFUL to contribute to a conversation. Even when he disagreed with you, he did so respectfully, therefore commanding the same respect from you. <p> This place is overrun with trolls and spammers, but D.Vader gets the boot for merely questioning Beaks' arbitrary banning policy? I posted about this earlier tonight, instead of with this daily feature, which is when I normally do it. Today's Talkbacker of the Day is D.Vader. He is a (former) talkbacker who doesn't have a bad reputation on the boards. I think AICN should be proud to have had a logical minded talkbacker for so long. This place can do a number on some people, and those people rarely recover. D.Vader stayed strong until he was claimed today in the Sally Menke talkback. I won't say congratulations given the grim circumstances, yet we wish you the best D.Vader, where ever you are. Until tomorrow...

I don’t give a shit who fucking died, the this that makes AICN great is the Talkbacks because it sure as fuck ain’t the complete and total lack of up-to-date news or the incoherent/moronic ramblings/reviews from the fat mongoloid that owns this site. I’ve had some great times on these boards and it’s because of the free flowing discourse of the Talkbacks. Seriously, don't. Instead, seek out Beaks articles and start up conversations about D.Vader's ban. Don't let this shit die. Everytime a respected talkbacker gets banned we kick up a fuss for a day and then it's back to norma. This time let's keep it up. <p> Article writers should not have moderating powers. Ideally there would be volunteer moderators looking over the talkbacks instead. The people who write the articles can post and have their black boxes but don't give them banning authority. Let that be in the hands of a dedicated team of moderators made up of the most respected and trustworthy talkbackers on AICN. <p> That's how it should be. <p> But aside from that, don't let this ban issue drop. Keep it up in every Beaks talkback. Fuck it do it any every talkback no matter who the author is. The talkbackers are what make AICN what it is. So fuck talking about the topic of the day, just focus on D.Vader being banned and the BS that goes on here.

It's just like a leftwinger: claim to love freedom of speech until someone says something they disagree with, then the freedom of speech must be curtailed. It has often come down on conservatives that they are the ones intolerant towards free speech. True conservatives are not, and liberals are always. Offensive or disagreeable though some posts may be, this has been one place where people have been able to voice their opinions and be heard, whether related to the topic or not related to the topic. Thanks for screwing up the free flowing conversation, Mr. Beaks. D.Vader, along with this forum, as it used to be, will be missed.

Just because he (Beaks) was questioned is very bad form. I generally appreciate Beaks's reviews (even when I disagree with him) but this kind of action is not what this site is/was about. Talkbackers have posted far more offensive posts than D. Vadar's and no one blinked (remember the Jew Hater or almost any of the Scott Pilgram fans?) I was almost thinking of making a similar post as Vadar's. Glad I didn't but I really don't want to feel that way about any thread. Inception joke? Question Harry's credibility? Heaven forbid! very name makes me feel like I am a part of a community here, just by me seeing his name for a year or so now and hardly remembering anyone else's. I am reposting from the Star Wars post (and correcting my mistakes): I don't post often. But I read a lot of the comments and D.Vader has always caught my attention because he always seemed "reasonable". He didn't seem to insult anyone or act like a fool. I have wondered for ages why this site didn't get more "adult" in terms of being fair and responsible. Post your policies. Enforce them consistently. The arbitrary nature of D.Vader's banning (assuming I understand correctly that he was banned for simply questioning Beaks policy on the Sally Menke post, an editor I deeply respect) is just beyond the pale. If anyone really wants to protest you have to do more than NOT post. You need to do the following and post that you did it. Use adblocking software or extensions like adblocker AND/OR NEVER click through on any ad that appears on the site. So when Harry posts his DVD column let him know that you won't click through and support his column until new banning policies are in place and D.Vader is allowed back. Just keep posting that message until the powers that be get the message. Maybe ask for an edit button as well. To D.Vader, if you are reading this, much respect for all your comments and I hope you are back soon.

Only Fools & Horses was OK when during the eighties, but it became increasingly tired and desperate in the 90s. Fawlty Towers bowed out on top and left people wanting more, unlike F&H, where it kept coming back long after it should have ended - and don't get us started on the F&H episodes after they lost their money...

GETTING AROUND AICN IP BAN..WORKS FOR ME (5 TIMES)

Its not hard..this site runs web 1.0 from 19fucking98...want to get around AICN IP ban..heres how...In your browser type in 192.168.1.1(if not reset your router) and you will get a username and password prompt. For the username (for most linksys routers) is admin and the password is admin (if not reset your router and if that doesnt work consult your manual). Ok now your in. Please click on MAC Address Clone in the setup tab. Alright now click enable if its not already enabled. Now you can change all the numbers for your mac address! Change all the numbers in the mac address (it may give you errors like out of range, to fix this only use numbers 1-9 and letters a-f) to different things! But before you click save settings i most warn you. You will still have access to your router but your internet will be disabled until you successfully complete the next step! now click Save Settings and wait, It may take awhile. After it says its completed or if the page refreshed click the Status tab. Your IP and mac and everything will be 0.0.0.0 and your internet will be disabled. Next go to your router and unplug it and unplug the modem too! When they are both off wait 1 minute and plug them back in. Wait for them to both get initialized and ready and go back to your computer. Your computer should now be internet connection enabled again with an entirely new ip address...works for me ...5 times so far

Could a boycott work? What if we decided to stay away from AICN for say, a week. I've stayed away for months at a time because...let's face it, the site is kind of boring sometimes. The news is old, the reviews are shit (except for a couple of writers) and the talkbacks can be spiteful. But what if we picked a day to say "sayonara AICN" and stay away for a week. A month? Is this even possible?<p>The best part of the site CAN be the talkbacks, when they have intelligent, lively conversations about movies. I've certainly learned more from talkbackers than I ever have from any writer on here. Just an idea.<p>Oh yeah...fuck you Beaks.

According to Colonel Fatheart, who was there and SAW it go down, Beaks (may a fowl with bird flu shit down his fucking throat) posted some shit about how any "off-topic" or "disrespectful" posts in the Sally Menke obit would be deleted and the poster banned. They used 35mm cameras for all the outdoors scenes in Fawlty Towers, as they did with most sitcoms of the era (think about that jarring change of texture, when Tom and Barbara in The Good Life went from their kitchen to their back garden -see?)

Vader if **WE** became annoying in our protests ("Chris will have a 90 day ban, unless he and his friends get annoying, in which case his ban will become perm.") Ain't it cool, guys? Threatening to ban someone for a protest initiated by OTHERS? And remember - this is from the fat liberal protest-worshiping toad himself! Guess "peace" and "love" and "power to the people" ain't exactly all that when it's directed at the capricious whims of you, your contributors and your site.<p>For purposes of solidarity and protest, I'm taking Ain't It Cool out of my drop down menu, set my Outlook Reminder, and am avoiding this site for ninety (90) days - I'll return 12/28/10. If Vader's back, cool. If not, well, like others have said, there are plenty of OTHER sites to get this shit from. The one redeeming grace of this site has been the talkbacks and the people (smart, stupid, crazy, fun, insane, wild, angry people) in the talkbacks. But it looks like Harry et al. have decided to behave in a dictatorial and willfully impulsive manner, alienating many talkbackers. I'm done. See you in ninety!

But I liked him, and I think it's wrong that he of all people got banned by someone with power who was obviously in a poor mood. That guy's been on here as long as me, which is as long as this site's been around. So how about it: band with me and all the other supporters of our friend on this forum and, in d.vader's way, politely speak up.
