On October 23 and 25, American Moviegoers Can Travel BACK TO THE FUTURE!!

"As long as you hit that wire with the connecting hook at precisely 88mph the instant the lightning strikes the tower... everything will be fine..."

On September 9, we posted a piece indicating that BACK TO THE FUTURE would be hitting the big screen again to commemorate its 25th anniversary - at that point it seemed said re-appearance would be limited only to UK theaters (details HERE). Looks like plans have changed a bit. The film is still hitting UK screens (this Friday, I believe?), but now comes word that it will also be remembered here in the States. On Saturday October 23 at 12:30pm, and Monday October 25 at 7pm, AMC theaters will host two special screenings of the first picture in the trilogy - on 158 screens across 40 cities. Your ticket purchase will include "a full-sized poster commemorating the 25th anniversary limited release of the movie", and each AMC theater hosting the event will be "special movie-related giveaways prior to the movie as a part of the experience." It should be noted that the timing of these U.S. screenings coincides (ahem) with October 26's release of the BTTF trilogy on Blu-Ray (the set's now up for pre-order HERE). Not too long ago, in an interview I don't believe has actually been published yet, trilogy co-writer/producer Bob Gale told HeyGuys that the remasterings appearing on these Blu-Rays look "breathtaking" and that the films look much better than they did when they were initially released, or something like that. Can't wait to get a peek... Find more about the impending U.S. screenings HERE. Tickets are now available HERE.
