Affleck Won’t Direct SUPERMAN But Aronofsky Might??

I am – Hercules!! Heat Vision reports that one director has climbed on to the list of potential Superman directors while another has fallen off. Darren Aronofsky is the latest being considered for the new Man of Steel movie being godfathered by “Dark Knight” director Christopher Nolan. No longer pursuing the directing gig, according to the site, is Ben Affleck, who himself donned the Superman togs for “Hollywoodland.” So here’s where HV’s list sits now: Darren Aronofsky (“The Fountain,” “The Wrestler,” “Black Swan”) Duncan Jones (“Moon,” “Source Code”) Jonathan Liebesman (“The Killing Room,” “Battle: Los Angeles”) Matt Reeves (“Cloverfield,” “Let Me In”) Tony Scott (“Man on Fire,” “Domino,” “The Taking Of Pelham 123”) Zack Snyder (“Dawn of the Dead,” “300,” “Watchmen,” “Legend of the Guardians”) I must say the guy I’d be most excited to tackle this is Snyder, just because I'm so nuts for his work on "Dead" and "Watchmen." I'm hopeful also the Nolans stay on top of that script; history has demonstrated that screenwriter David Goyer (“Jumper,” “The Unborn,” “Flashforward”), who is involved in scripting this new Superman, is typically needful of strong collaborators. Find all of HV’s story on the matter here.
