Dude, Season Nine of Scrubs!? Even the winner would be a "giant loser", would they not?

Also why did they title it "The Complete AND FINAL Ninth Season"?

How many ninth seasons did they have???

You know what I want to own? A terrible season of a sitcom. 4 discs of failed comedy. That sounds like time well spent. Really, owning this would be more of a burden than a prize. Because obviously you're never going to watch this crap, due it not being funny. And it would be pretty embarrassing to have on your DVD shelf. Everyone who sees it would think you have terrible taste or comedy, or they'd give you shit. "Really? The "Med School" Season of Scrubs? You own this?" "Yeah, I know, but it's not what you think. I won it in a contest." "Surrre you did." So, what do you do with this crap? Nobody's going to buy it on eBay. You'd actually lose money, due to the cost of posting it, and nobody bidding on it. I guess you just throw it away. Or give it away. That seems to be what Herc's doing. GOD, THIS IS A TERRIBLE SEASON OF TELEVISION. I was happier when I forgot it existed. Oh well. Herc thinks Entourage is better than Arrested Development. Anything goes in this section. Including, apparently, giving away poop as a prize.

The show should have ended after the previous season. It had a perfect ending for the series. JD's last day at Sacred Heart as he moved on to a new life and new job, leaving almost everyone but Elliot behind in some way. The next season tried to hard to re-create the first season. The "new JD" was just a mix of first season JD and Elliot.

Season 9 wasn't anywhere near as bad as you're all pretending. I question if most of you even watched it.

I watched it. I was fascinated by the trainwreckiness of it all. At a certain point, I had to stopbecause it was just so painful, but I watched at least half of the episodes. It almost felt like fans of the show were being punished for once liking it. Not only because it was so poorly written (it was) but because the sense of continuity twixt seasons 8 and 9 was conveniently erased for the sake of getting a few more episodes. The penultimate season had a halfway decent sense of closure, of maturation, for a good chunk of the cast, not just J.D. Everyone seemed like they were going where they were supposed to be going. Suddenly, everyone's doing something else. Characters who were in charge of the HOSPITAL and chief of surgery suddenly had the time necessary to teach classes too? Former major players come and go a few episodes like they're doing fans a favor by showing up? Other characters disappear altogether (Carla - the new Vera? Maris? Always discussed, never seen?) And finally, the hospital is upped and moved to some bucolic college setting? Man, that had to suck for the community they were actually serving? Yeah, I know, it's just a show. Somehow my life has moved beyond it quite nicely. But if you're going to create characters and an environment that's supposed to manipulate an audience's emotions, suddenly negating everything that came before is a dumb way to do it. Oh, and did I mention how awful the writing was?

once JD left for good. When Scrubs was "his" show, I liked the character; when he was just another character he was severely annoying and really unfunny.
Sept. 27, 2010, 10:51 a.m. CST
It's so ungrateful of him to leave when the show was still going sgtrong, interestingly he has done nothing of any note since leaving either. The episodes where just starting to gel really well and bang the show is cancelled, I wonder if his rising star will level off now like other actors who left ungratefully the shows that made them, SMG anyone?

Get a brain and make your own points mayhaps eh?

Now I don't have to be jealous about some fucking loser winning something I want and deserve more.
Sept. 27, 2010, 10:54 a.m. CST
The show changed somewhat biut it was still consistently funny and I second the call that the bemoaners may not have even watched every episode, if you had you would not fail to have thought it funny

Get fucked. I don't have to eat a dog turd to know it's disgusting.

Then I can play with my brother and call him girl names.
Sept. 27, 2010, 11:49 a.m. CST
Just because it actually sounded awful. It looks like I was right.
Why couldnt they have simply repackaged the whole thing with new actors playing new characters? That would have worked, if they had sacked off the old cast.
Sept. 27, 2010, 1:09 p.m. CST
Of course you don't have to eat a dog turd to know it's disgusting. But until you do, your opinion on dog turds is entirely moot and completely inconsequential.

One of the funnest and clever shows to ever grace TV, great stories and chracters. Knife Wrench! Sure the last 3 seasons where weak. But seasons 1-5 where fucking awesome. I watched season 9 I don't consider it scrubs. it was a spin off with the same name. Scrubs for me ended in season 8. Eagle!!!!!
Sept. 27, 2010, 2:11 p.m. CST
No, it's pretty much a given. Unless the dog happens to be one of those Aesop animals. Like the Dog That Shat the Swiss Chocolate Turds (my favourite fable growing up).

for a while, and I'll still watch the odd episode on comedy central or where ever. It could be funny, and it could be sad, but it felt (to me anyway) like it had a real hard time deciding which it really wanted to be. Like how sometimes it would start funny and try to be a tearjerker by the end. Now when I watch comedy I prefer that it leave most of that maudlin crap behind (Community springs to mind, and there are others but they're not on the tip of my brain just now).
Sept. 27, 2010, 5:25 p.m. CST
Scrubs knew exactly what it was. Every episode was "a very special episode" but with laughs. It never swayed too far to either side.

season 8 had a very nice ending. season 9 was not awful by tv standards but by the standards set by the show itself i wanted to smother it like it was jack nicholson at the end of "cuckoo's nest". one thing i thought was interesting was how a lot of the new characters sort of took the place of the old characters in the style of comedy/person that they were. it was almost like the end of "the wire" . . . with the main difference being that the ending of "the wire" was amazing and this was not.
Sept. 27, 2010, 7:19 p.m. CST
Still, the ups and downs in that show were dizzying and at times really annoying (regardless of their intent). But yeah, I see your point. And what the hell, I can admit that it had its moments (both funny and sad) that worked.

No way. Joey ran for two seasons, so there was that much more suck to it. Besides, the second half of "AfterScrubs" was a lot better than the first.
