So That "Edgy" Ratner Produced SNOW WHITE May Not Suck After All?? It Might Be Close To Finding Its Star And Director...

Back in June, we learned that Ratner would be producing an "edgy" adaptation of SNOW WHITE, based on the Brothers Grimm source material that's available HERE. The notion of Ratner steering this material...even if only in a producorial capacity...was neither promising or tantalizing. But some new developments could soon make this project considerably more interesting. Per THIS piece at Pajiba, one of the site's regular sources is indicating that Jean-Pierre Jeunet (CITY OF LOST CHILDREN, MICMACS, AMELIE, and ALIEN RESURRECTION) is circling the project with an eye towards directing it. And who might be his "edgy" Snow White? Pajiba says Natalie Portman could be interested. Very compelling if true, and more power to Ratner & Company if they actually manage to pull together a project with this complexion. More as we know more...
