by lostboytexas

    looking forward to this

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 11:41 a.m. CST

    second

    by giannt

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 11:41 a.m. CST

    also

    by lostboytexas

i noticed the same problem with the comic but during emergencies all lanes of traffic are opened to traffic fleeing cities. having half the freeway empty wile the other half is gridlocked just wouldnt happen.
call me, we'll do lunch

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 11:43 a.m. CST

it does make an intriguing image though

    by lostboytexas

so i will forgive and forget.

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 11:50 a.m. CST

yes wouldn't people just get on the off ramp

    by Rupee88

and go the opposite way on the highway...of course they would. But yeah, still an image that say something..more figurative than literal.

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 11:52 a.m. CST

    Drew Struzan shoulda done this

    by scrote

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 11:52 a.m. CST

it would never happen like that

    by zom-bot.com

it's been said, i'm just repeating, i know. i do forgive the idea too, and i imagine maybe it would even happen so quick that emergency procedure couldn't organize the other lanes in time, but you'd still have panicked people who'd cut over to the other side. all said and done, it's a good idea to have a motorcycle, scooter or moped for the highways during a zombie apocalypse.

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 11:53 a.m. CST

you'd also have a mass exodus on foot.

    by zom-bot.com

but then, i guess they'd be zombies now, eh?

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 11:56 a.m. CST

how graphic is this show gonna be?

    by lostboytexas

the Michonne rape scene was pretty messy in the comic, among other things

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 12:01 p.m. CST

its also cool to see Egg get the lead role

    by lostboytexas

if you're bored with whats on tv these days check out This Life from the BBC. Egg!

what i want to know is

    by edwardpenishands

Are they going to tackle necro-pedophilia? I have to say the scene with the governor and his daughter was one of the most shocking things I’ve ever read. I would be surprised if they even hinted at it in the show.

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 12:14 p.m. CST

the governor was a real nasty bastard

    by lostboytexas

    yup

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 12:19 p.m. CST

    I wish it were Inbiganable

    by ATARI

    Agreed - better not suck

    by John_McClanes_Vest

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 1:08 p.m. CST

Reminds me a little too much of The Happening

    by skimn

but I like the image of the cowboy, it adds a nice contrast. AND not a zombie in sight, which is nice.

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 1:11 p.m. CST

Remember how geeked people were for The Mist?

    by skimn

A favorite King story rumored to be made for years...Darabont, Mr. King adaptation himself, doing the film...then......thud.

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 1:41 p.m. CST

I think it's meant mostly to be a cool image to get viewers...

    by Lothos_Zero

Rather than a real scene out of the show. I don't know if this is their plan in the show, but in the comic they were actually trying to get people IN TO the large cities so that they could protect them in one large area rather than trying to evacuate them

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 2:37 p.m. CST

    The Mist was great.

    by JohnWayneWasGay

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 2:49 p.m. CST

    wow.

    by MeMyselfAndNy_aaan

this is lookin better and better.

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 3:03 p.m. CST

    the mist was great until

    by lostboytexas

the shitty cgi monsters showed up. overall not bad though, might have to read the book

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 3:04 p.m. CST

Reminds me of I Am Legend

    by RPLocke

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 3:15 p.m. CST

Hey, I'm a fan of The Mist myself

    by skimn

It just landed with a thud in the theaters.

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 3:56 p.m. CST

The Mist = better movie than story

    by schadenfreudian

and I love the story. But the movie's ending was better.

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 4:41 p.m. CST

THE MIST was a great flick with a better ending.

    by MeMyselfAndNy_aaan

    Much better.

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 5:01 p.m. CST

The first poster looks great but...

    by newc0253

in a real emergency, you'd obviously use all the lanes of a highway to get out of town...

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 5:03 p.m. CST

Mist movie ending shocking, not better.

    by Flip63Hole

Shock value does not a good ending make. Unless it's DePalma's The Fury... Decent movie, classic book.

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 5:03 p.m. CST

and if i'd read the talkback

    by newc0253

i'd have realised that at least 3 others made the same comment already

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 5:27 p.m. CST

I like that there are no zombies as well

    by Turingtestee

The end of The Mist pissed me off. In a good way.

  • Seriously, The Mist and John Carpenter's version of The Thing are like two peas in a pod.

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 6:38 p.m. CST

    One-way traffic problem

    by Eyegore

Will you people stop whining about the right lane being empty? You keep talking about emergency procedures...Martial law is also an emergency procedure, that's where they put a bullet in the head of any dumbass trying to jump lanes and do his own thing on the highway. I know, because I've been through a few hurricanes living in Florida. They tell you to stay inside your house or risk being shot...stay inside until they tell you it's okay to leave, or you will be shot.

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 6:48 p.m. CST

    The mist...

    by billandted

only part that wa good was the huge lovecraft type beast you saw for a second.... i want the to be the START of a great otherworldy invasion movie...

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 8:02 p.m. CST

The Mist was just plain terrible.

    by RPLocke

  • Sept. 22, 2010, 8:09 a.m. CST

    Mist ending is insulting...

    by Billyeveryteen

Great flick till the run-out-of-gas solution.
Should've ended as Stevie did, looking at that towering whatchamacalit.

  • Sept. 22, 2010, 8:28 a.m. CST

    "Mass exodus"

    by DoYouThinkHeSawUs

    is a tautology. Just sayin'.

  • Sept. 22, 2010, 8:39 a.m. CST

Traffic is like that everyday in Atlanta...

    by bc1970

Everybody leaving, nobody coming in. Maybe they'll have cameos from Zombie Matlock, Zombie Bandit, Zombie Designing Women and Zombie Dukes of Hazzard.

  • Sept. 22, 2010, 1:07 p.m. CST

    Wow! Better than Romero!

    by Powerring

Hopefully the zombie genre will be re-energized despite Romero's intense efforts to destroy it with extremely bad movies over the past several years.

  • Sept. 22, 2010, 1:28 p.m. CST

    This Life...

    by Lacloake

Great show but Egg was a fucking pussy for putting up with that bitch girlfriend of his Milly... What a Bitch! Even thinking about it now just makes my blood boil, and it was on TV almost 15 years ago! Best thing about that show was Anna, great character!

  • Sept. 22, 2010, 2:27 p.m. CST

The Mist was pretty much just like the book

    by Kraven Morehead

and as much as I like King he can tend to leave his stories with an open ending and this had a fitting ending that was memorable. The only thing I felt was missing was right after the tank came out I think Nelson from the Simpsons should have popped up with a "HaHa!". And then the credits could roll. Fin.

  • Sept. 22, 2010, 2:31 p.m. CST

    Lacloake

    by lostboytexas

yes but Egg got to tap that ass. When I first saw Millys muff I was hooked ;-)

  • Sept. 22, 2010, 3:02 p.m. CST
