Watch Louis C.K.'s Concert Film HILARIOUS For Free At Epix!

Beaks here...

When Louis C.K.'s HILARIOUS premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last January, he told Quint that this was his attempt to bring back the big-screen concert film ala RICHARD PRYOR: LIVE IN CONCERT, BILL COSBY: HIMSELF or EDDIE MURPHY RAW. The idea was to get the movie some kind of a theatrical release before heading off to DVD, On Demand, and so on. As a fan of stand-up movies (I even paid to see RUNTELDAT), I would've gladly forked over full admission to watch one of the funniest stand-up comics alive work over an audience for eighty minutes. Unfortunately, I couldn't make the sole L.A. screening of the film, so I guess I'll just have to watch it on Epix. For free. If this sounds good to you (and it should unless you hate laughing), head over to Epix, give 'em your email, and fire up HILARIOUS. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but seeing as how C.K. has never let me down (not with POOTIE TANG, not with LUCKY LOUIE and certainly not with his brilliant, just-renewed FX series LOUIE), I'm going to highly recommend you check it out. And be sure to check out all of Louis C.K.'s previous stand-up specials. They're all phenomenal.

    IMO

    by macheesmo3

Louis CK is the next Carlin. He has that mixture of linguistical skill , lack of tact and the ability to say what most people think that seperates the greats from the very funnies.

if you can't explain what that Epix site is and that you can't just sign up and watch it on your computer there. I am fairlyu computer and internet savvy but can't figure out what the f*ck that site is or how to watch anything on it. Thanks for nothing and for being a tease as I like Louis CK.

    EPIX

    by blunted666

Is a HD Cable On-Demand channel that you have to subscribe to a-la HBO or Showtime but has no original TV programming. However it has a badass selection of HD On-Demand movies at any given time, and changes something like quarterly. I have always liked the channel since they started offering it like a year ago. It is only topped by the Starz On-Demand package as far as movie channels in my book. Anybody else have this channel? Just curious. I get it through FiOS. I had no problem getting that David Cross thing... do you have a different service than FiOS?

  • Sept. 20, 2010, 9:38 p.m. CST

    I have FiOS as well

    by Kammich

And I got Epix when they started carrying it... Epix made a pretty strong early push with premieres of movies like Iron Man, Cloverfield, and a couple of other Paramount-owned blockbuster... but their new releases have died down pretty hard. That said, their on demand catalog is LOADED and is probably better than any of the other services. And yes, Louis CK is a god damned genius... and he's a carbon copy of my uncle Chris, from looks, to opinions, to verbal delivery... its scary. my Uncle doesn't have quite the story telling ability, though.

    LOUIE is freakin brilliant.

only comedy show worth watching right now.

    epix

    by Zadrock

If you subscribe to COX movie pack you automatically get Epix, IFC, Sundance, and like 7 Encore channels. Epix is actually a really good channel with over 150 movies on demand and a weird online feature where you can watch a movie with your friends MST style. Well worth the $4.50 they charge for the package.

  • Sept. 20, 2010, 11:23 p.m. CST

    I loves me my Epix

    by vic twenty

But they are still spotty when it comes to respecting the aspect ratio. They are good probably 70% of the time when it comes to broadcasting in a proper aspect ratio (when it should be 2.35:1).
It still beats the shit out of HBOHD. Man they hate the bars.

    by spud_mcspud_returns

And yes, he says the things we think but dare not say. And makes it fucking funny. Definitely the heir to Carlin's mantle, and a dead cert on my one-to-watch list.
But fuck the epix thing. I'm ordering this on Doovde...

Eddie Murphy was huge...Bill Cosby was huge...Richard Pyror was huge.....Louis CK is not huge. No one's showing up to see him, no matter how funny he is.

  • Sept. 21, 2010, 7:40 a.m. CST

    Whatever Mel . . .

    by Nice Marmot

. . . have you gone to see him? He packs the house. And I was about to say how amazed I was there were no haters here. If there's a talk-back about his show in Coaxial, its 50% hate. I f-ing LOVE Louis C.K.

Season 1 of "Louie" was hit and miss . . .

    by Nice Marmot

. . . but there were WAY more hits. As mentioned above, the end of the finale in the diner was great and so heartwarming. And the agent coming to the church to demonstrate the brutality of crucifixion was classic.

    Wow, a real let down

    by brobdingnag

I cannot express how disappointed I was in that. I have laughed my ass off at just about everything else the guy has done but was just self indulgent shit. I laughed maybe once. To be fair I quit after about 50 minutes, but this is coming from someone who has seen almost everything else the guys has done. For this to be mentioned in the same breath as the other standup films in the article is just laughable. Even at no cost this was a ripoff.

Not as great as Shameless, but still good...

    by GrandMuffTarkin

Some stuff was a repeat of his older stuff - the magic of flight, cell phone, but other stuff was good, like his old balls/young dick, the word "jew", women seeing the dick last
